Scam or illicit?
I booked car in Valencia for 4 days started from 1st January 2019. I booked through Ryanair and paid online. I bought damage insurance from AXA as well. Their security deposit was 1200 Euro. I picked up the car at the airport. At the desk, it took few minutes to get the car as all amount and insurance were paid before through online. When the agent saw my insurance policy, she did not ask me to buy their insurance and even did not offer me any other insurance. She just took my credit card information for 1200 Euro security deposit.
I returned my car on 5th January in the airport. On 13th January, when I received my credit card statement, I noticed they charged me £94 (British pound). I instantly contacted Ryanair car hire customer service and they found out that they charged me for insurance and advised me to contact Firefly. At the desk, even the agent did not tell me about their insurance or any other charge. But they charged me. I have not received their invoice or any explanation. This is totally ridiculous. This company is totally scam and they are being promoted by Ryanair. I must say this is illicit business or activities. They cannot charge without discussing at the desk or beforehand. I will be happy to bring them to EU Court regarding their scam and illicit activities.
Conned out of 500 pesos MX
Conned out of 500 pesos MX, by bare face lies at the desk. I got off lightly compared to others on here, but the cheek of the lies is enough to put a bad taste in your mouth.
STAY AWAY! There are other cheap rental companies with more scrupples. Dont trust these guys, especially at Cancun airport
Firefly car rental - Appalling
Appalling. If you have no credit card (a debit card is no good) you can't have the car unless you pay additional 225 euros for full insurance. Then what they don't tell you is that there is also additional 47 euros VAT. So, the car may seem very cheap to book on line but if you don't have a credit card the price increases by 3 or 4 times. Also having taken the car I need to contact firefly at Alicante Airport. I rang them more than 20 times and nobody picked up Checked the number on the Internet and it was the right number. Appalling company and appalling customer service Strongly recommend you hire from another company.
The worst experience ever and looking to take legal action
The worst experience ever and looking to take legal action to prevent the disgraceful practice of hidden charges for absolutely nothing - Hertz should be so ashamed to consider this acceptable.
FIREFLY : CHARGES FOR NOT REQUIRED SERVICES
I rented a car in Malaga, paying it in advance through Expedia.
At the time of the withdrawal, I clearly told the attendant that I did not want additional services. On returning home, FIREFLY charged my credit card for € 108. I protested with FIREFLY, but they did not repay anything. I have read in internet reviews that there are many people who have the same problem.

I hired a car from them 2 years ago and when I got there they charge me a extra 500+ euro for extra insurance and 2 years later I have been charge 30.50 euro. I have no idea why. The numebr on the site put me onto hertz. There is no email only a 404 error for the contact page.
