Hired a car for 2 days from FireFly…

Hired a car for 2 days from FireFly Alicante Airport, the car was booked and paid directly via the EasyJet website at the same time as booking flights.

Car retuned full of fuel, no damage yet I have been billed on my credit card an extra €228.00 by FireFly, no explanation, they do not return emails.

Avoid at all costs, will never use again. In the process of a chargeback via my credit card company but such hassle.

Firefly Barcelona Airport- Beware of Damage Scam

Rented a car at Barcelona airport for 2 days. They asked me to photograph any damage when I picked up the car so I photographed the one obvious one. When I returned the car the staff member did a cursory inspection of the car and then knelt down to point out a small scratch hidden under the front bumper. Hadn't seen this at the time of pickup due to its location but she seemed to know right where to find it. Now have a bill for a scratch that has undoubtedly been paid for many times over by other unsuspecting customers. Avoid Firefly. Check out other reviews online. This appears to be a part of their business model.

To everyone scammed by firefly

To everyone scammed by firefly. Fight for your money especially when you booked the car through another company like Ryanair or another one.
Ask them for assistance. Ours helped us a lot. I rented the car from Seville airport two years ago. I had insurance from the intermediary company and didn't want to buy another insurance from Firefly. So they made me secure a high deposit. I returned home and saw that the deposit was taken by firefly. It took me 6 months to get my money back but 1300 Euros was worth it. It took 4 months and a ton of emails and scans to find out why the money was charged. They blamed me for filling up the car with wrong fuel, which of course never happened. I asked for technician's report, never got it. They simply took the money from my card and stopped replying to my emails. The intermediary company helped a lot.
AVOID, TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO AVOID IT.

DO NOT USE FIREFLY CAR RENTAL AT MALAGA AIRPORT

This is the worst experience I have ever had hiring a car. Do not take my word read the other reviews on Trustpilot.
We arrived at Malaga airport after midnight (flight was delayed) the car had been pre-booked and I had EUR 132.66 to pay.
There were two employees at the help desk. The female was initially pleasant , offering an upgrade then presented me with pre-printed documents showing a further EUR 357 to pay. I declined this offer as I had already agreed insurances before travelling. At this point she turned toxic. She said I would have to leave a deposit of EUR1000 to cover any potential damage. I agreed.
She then said if I took wheel and tyre insurance for EUR 80 then she would waive the EUR 1000 deposit. I declined again she wasn't happy.
She then said you have arrived late after midnight and charged me an out of hours fee of EUR 33 plus a further EUR 18 for CDW and Theft Waiver which I had already included. I agreed as it was now after 1am.
She then gave me the details of the car with a diagram which showed no fewer than 18 scratches and dents. I was shocked, she said just make sure you take pictures of all the scratches and dents before you get in. Seriously? They brag that they are part of the Hertz group as if it gives them a cloak of respectability.
So at 1.30 am in a dimly lit Malaga airport I am taking pictures of all the dents and scratches.
This was a very stressful start to the holiday, I was also very tentative about actually using it and used Uber probably more than planned.
I don't trust these people, the EUR deposit was pending on my credit card for several days so didn't post this review until it had lapsed and the agreed sum (with the late fee) debited.
I will never use Firefly or Hertz again.
To the President of Hertz Global Holdings in Estero Florida I say ditch your Hertz customer service programme and save yourself thousands of dollars because any goodwill created for the Hertz brand is being totally undone by these scammers.

If i could give zero stars i would as 1…

If i could give zero stars i would as 1 star is too much for these thieving scum bags. AVOID THESE CROOKS AT ALL COSTS. This is honestly the worst organisation that i have ever dealt with in my entire life. They will rip you off and bleed you dry and try to get as much money out of you as possible. They first gave me a car with scratches all over it. On return, they tried to argue with me telling me that i had caused them. Luckily and thank god i had taken sevaral pictures and videos and so they had to back down and forget that idea. They finished checking over the car and i was told every thing was fine. Then the following day when i got home back to the UK they had taken £250 off my credit card. I immediately contacted them and was told it was to clean the car. I honestly nearly fainted. How can you justify taking £250 for a car clean? I disputed this but because of the language barrier (which they clearly use to their advantage) i wasn't getting anywhere. I contacted my bank and now 1 month later i am still having an ongoing dispute with them over the payment and i still.have not got my money back. I hired the car at Malaga airport for 3 weeks. I have 3 children..obviously the car would have needed a wash and a hoover inside but what....at the cost of £250??? That is just insane!
Surely every car needs to be cleaned after its been hired and used?
Another thing they did was charge me €175 euros for a full tank of petrol when i collected the car. A full tank costs about €35 euros! I was told if i brought the car back with fuel, i would be reimbursed for the petrol I brought back. I returned the car with half a tank of petrol. However, they only reimbursed me €14????? Please do the maths because i just cannot work that one out. Im still waiting for Jeremy Beadle to jump out infront of me.
I could go on forever about how bad these crooks are. Just please please please do not book with them and go with a different company. If you want further clarification on what i am saying just read the reviews. If only i did that before booking with these scumbags!

firefly seville

on collection informed that any damage under 5 cm not on damage sheet plenty of scratch's including both wing mirrors not on sheet which is often the case. on return car was inspected shouting bigger at drivers wing mirror then quickly going to passenger wing mirror and shouting bigger again then walked quickly to the office to take 200 euros would not engage just repeated that as i have my own insurance that i needed these documents to make a claim . this is corporation backed fraud and should not be allowed something needs doing as i feel i was going to be punished by them for not taking there insurance what ever i did. i did not have any more damage on the car than when i picked it up no explanation for what is bigger seems endemic situation in spain nearly all are using shame tactics as they have control over the money, use public transport where poss i will

Car hire Malaga - spurious missold charges!

Car hire Malaga airport. Firstly, the car i hired was clean, drove well, and was what we asked for. My complaint is the mis-sold additional products, namely something called the SCDWK. At the time of picking up the car I upgraded my vehicle at a reasonable cost of €5 a day. As I had already paid the original full rental cost plus additional insurance cover when I booked it through easyjet, I was advised that I would be charged an extra €50 (10 days at €5 for the upgrade) and an additional €189.60 to be held on my card which will be refunded when I return the vehicle. So I thought nothing more of this. Until I return home and found I had charged a total of €308.66 on my card. When reviewing my agreement I realised this was for the upgrade charge, the SCDWK, something called an APT charge and 21% VAT (again, looking back this was not clear that the prices quoted did not included VAT). I can live with the VAT but the SCDWK is a charge that I contest is a product that I was mis-sold at the time of transaction. After complaining to both firefly and to easyjet, the response I have received is that as I signed the contract, I have agreed to the terms and the products added on. No recognition that I have said I was mis-sold the product. It was only when I googled the SCDWK charge that I realised it was an additional excess insurance cover. So this is even more frustrating because like I said earlier, I had already paid for a similar product through easyjet. My only conclusion is that the representatives at the firefly hire office take advantage of travel weary tourists (we had been up since 2am with 2 young children travelling) and tourists that don't fully understand all the product add ons. They are also probably on commision to sell these additional products without any fear that it will be questioned once the agreement is signed. I will not use them again. Advise anyone booking to check and question all the charges if they do use firefly, or just use another company with a better track record and better reviews. I wish I had done my research but I assumed going through easyjet, who I've never had issues with before, my experience would be better.

Firefly Malaga

Firefly Malaga - AVOID!!
Charged over €300 for 2 weeks excess insurance I specifically said I did not want. As it's a signed document on chip & PIN I can't claim back from my credit card.
You are knowingly scamming the public Firefly & that is unacceptable.

This company is a complete joke

This company is a complete joke, stay away. Tried to sell me insurance I had already paid for trying to tell me it wasn't the same, tried to get me into an automatic which i didn't ask for at an extra cost, took the car back full of fuel then charged me 50 euros on my credit card to fill it back up. Zero stars if i could.

If I could do a zero star review I…

If I could do a zero star review I would. We hired through Do You Spain and collected our car at Girona airport. Getting the keys fine, told if we brought it back full of petrol we would be refunded €100.

Got out to the car park and the car didn’t have one panel or part of a bumper that wasn’t dinted. We took pictures, didn’t have the energy after travelling to get it swopped.

Dropped the car back on the Sunday, full to the brim with petrol. Videoed the car to show there were no extra dints.

Monday there is a charge for €149 on our credit card - no refund for the fuel and no email explaining the charge. It’s a month now, we’ve used the complaint form on Do You Spain and had nothing. Now going via our credit card company.

Do not use either company, they’ll give you a damaged car, charge you extra for the privilege and then ignore you. Wish I read the reviews on here before I’d used them

Firefly Malaga, don't take it

Firefly Malaga, don't book with them: they invoiced me with extra kms while it was included in my offer. Since I sent the proof from their own booking document, no reply anymore. They really know what they are doing and will try to cheat on you with everything possible. I will get my money back Firefly, whatever it takes!

They know exactly what they are doing... (and it's not good)

Returned a vehicle to Barcelona airport and filled the petrol to the brim, some 25km from the airport. At the kiosk the guy said this was 'too far away' we'd have to pay for a bit more fuel, and clearly suggested that we'd get back 95% of our depot, so less than 5 euros for the fuel. Returned to the UK to find they've taken £45 for their pleasure. £45! That's well over half a tank. We only used £35 of petrol on the whole holiday. These people are cowboys. They know exactly what they are doing, and it's clearly a scam. Do not use, and if you do, get the deposit refunded there and then.

Charges for insurance not requested

I picked up a car at Alicante Airport pre-paid on rentalcars.com. I was only staying for a few days so didn't take up the extra insurance option of 30euro a day. I was asked to sign and initial the contract and assured that the charges stated related to the fuel deposit which would be returned if the tank was full. A few days after returning the car, I was charged £105 for extra insurance which was apparently stated on the contract which I initialled. I complained a number of times and never got anywhere. Shameful sharp practices, they don't deserve a business license. I don't now how the woman who served me can sleep at night.

This is a company of crooks please take…

This is a company of crooks please take notice of this review
They have taken money from my card after I returned the car, I have tried many times to contact them but no answer until just now and the man on the end of the phone Rossie at Malaga Airport branch was extremely rude to me and hung up !
I have not received a statement of charges 10 days after returning the car which I returned with a full tank, hardly any miles as we didn't use it much and I paid for extra insurance to cover ourselves so they cant use that as an excuse
Please save yourselves, this is a terrible company and I will be taking it further

SCAM!

Pickup location was incredibly difficult to find - this car rental lurks deep within the Seville airport car park.

Probably kept out of sight because the whole thing is essentially a scam service - SEEMS to have cheap and competitive prices but will try to get you to sign up for their insurance, and if you refuse it they will get you later by referring to an inconspicious scratch or mark! Avoid at all costs!

overcharged and underwhelmed

I was charged an additional 60 euros when I collected my car from Firefly in Spain for VAT which was clearly excluded from carfelxis' Ts and Cs. When I asked for a refund and to honour their quote they lacked any flexi and unsurprisingly referred me to Firefly. I had already argued the toss with Friefly who told me this was a frequent problem with carfelxi and told me to either take the car or adios amigo. Best not to use intermediaries like this company as you always get stung the other end. Neither company has any empathy or customer service only antipathy.
