We went for dinner and while the ambiance was great the food lacked any flavour or substance. Everything was deep fried and tasteless. Would recommend Rosa’s Thai or really ANY other Thai place including the one at boxpark croydon . The tofu in my pad thai was soaked in oil . Left us both feeling rather sick . Plz save your money and tastebuds and go somewhere else.

Went to the Reigate branch for my 40th birthday lunch, even though we had made reservations the wait for food was over an hour. We were sat at the window table and it was so cold, the skirting board and floor was filthy. We ordered the crispy squid for a starter, which was mostly greasy panko and the smallest bit of squid you could imagine.
For our mains, we ordered a yellow Thai prawn and soft shell crab curry, I specifically asked for it to be mellow. It was not. My whole mouth burned within the first spoonful. My husband who can handle hot spicy food, also could not finish his either. Again, there was hardly any meat and a lot of unrecognisable ingredients which were not nice. It was very disappointing, although the restaurant staff did replace my order with a pad Thai. This was our favourite restaurant and Thai is our favourite food but we won’t be returning in the future.

We went to cardiff giggly squid for 1st time for a birthday meal and wasnt that impressed. 1st impression beautiful look and feel to the restaurant. Having arrived at restaurant 10mins early was told we couldn't go in as restaurant as it was full and we had to wait outside, good job it wasnt raining. Our meals came with no dipping pots to clean fingers, had to de-shell the prawns and had to take out the black vein which was so messy. This should have been done prior to cooking. Asked for stir fry with out torfu and it didnt seem an issue yet it came with it in, so again had to sieve through my meal snd take out what i didnt like. Table was full of mess. I ordered duck which it came and was very fatty. My white chocolate cheese cake came and it was frozen which i couldnt eat much of as my teeth are so sensative. Staff seemed sarcastic at times when approched when things weren't quite right. Restraunt well over rated and so expensive for what you had. So for the 8 of us that went would we be going again.. No dnt think so. Very dissapointed.

We visited today to the new Shrewsbury Branch, for late lunch and it was not as good as an experience as we have had in the Stratford on Avon branch. We waited quite a while to have the order taken, even though we could see several very young staff standing around “chatting each other up”. Eventually an older lady came and asked if an order had been taken, and duly took the other. People watching we spotted that several other guests appeared to be complaining about having the wrong dish arrive, so we were worried whether ours would be correct……after what felt like a lifetime, our order arrived and it was correct and it was very impressive. Food was good, decent quantity and well cooked. We go to a lot of Thai restaurants and the food here was up with the best…..but the service was lacking, which spoilt the whole experience really. Then, to add insult to injury they added 10% to the bill for “service”. Given the service we had experienced I would have been more impressed had they have knocked 10% off. We are NOT the type of people to complain and don’t like confrontational situations, so we just paid the bill……but I genuinely now feel that we have been “ripped off”…..which may now taint my future views of going back. The staff definitely need a few hard lessons in Customer Service and that any chatting should be done once their shift is over.

Went to the Brighton restaurant, excellent food and staff very friendly and efficient. They did go a bit overkill on asking about allergies three times but it was a different staff member each time so they were just doing what they were meant to do and were being efficient.

Would definitely come again when in Brighton and would certainly recommend.

We had amazing experience, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was nice. The ambience is warm and inviting.

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my birthday today at the Chichester restaurant. Service was excellent and Jasmine who attended to our table was polite, friendly and very patient. Food was excellent, wine superb and the desserts were delicious. My dessert was a presented with a birthday message very thoughtful. Thank you for making my day special looking forward to visting again.

Went for a treat to celebrate passing exams. It’s a place we’ve always wanted to go and although the restaurant was quite empty it took a while to come for our drinks order. I ordered a slimline tonic to be told we do t do slimline but the one we have is quite light? Ok I’ll go with that. For food we ordered tapas plates which were nice. No checking if our food was ok - but that sometimes suits as it can be overkill. Problem myself and daughter has after about 2 hours of eating felt intensely sick which lasted all evening. Apart from breakfast and we both had different, that was the only food eaten that day

First visit to giggling squid. Superb. Would recommend and visit again even though we are 40 miles away. The food is great and really authentic Thai. Helpful staff as regards what to order.😁👏

Ordered for two of us, order #9684 not that giggling squid seem to care.
Ordered for a vegetarian and a meat eater. Rather than a red vegetarian curry as was marked on the receipt, we had a chicken curry. Only an hour wait for one person to be able to eat and the other not. Binned the whole lot which is a huge waste of food but it’s not like I’m going to sit and eat whilst my partner doesn’t. So spent around £50 to make our own omelettes.
Tried to ring the giggling squid and the person that finally answered just said ‘I can’t do anything about Oxford being so sh[letter i goes here]t but I’ll put you through to them’ (I’m paraphrasing).
Lo and behold no answer and the phone call was ended.
It’s a real shame. I used to love going to one of your branches in Kent. Clearly the oxford version isn’t up to par.

Giggling squid Reigate

Quirky place. Obviously an old building converted into several small dinning spaces. We had to walk through the bar to get to our table.

The food was delicious. The service was friendly and timely. It wasn’t cheap.

Mate( our server, you pronounce it Matthay I think) was excellent.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

From the moment we stepped into Giggling Squid in Bracknell, we were immersed in an incredible ambience. The decor was stunning, especially our private feeling booth adorned with flowers, foliage, and fairy lights, creating a magical setting for my wife’s birthday.

The service was exceptional. The staff were quick to seat us and remained attentive throughout our meal. Their knowledge and friendliness added to the experience, with several staff members personally wishing my wife a happy birthday. The highlight was the surprise dessert - ice cream with ‘happy birthday’ written in chocolate, a thoughtful touch that made our celebration even more special.

As for the food, it was a delightful experience. Each dish was fresh and packed with flavour, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. While I won’t delve into specifics, every bite was a testament to the quality and care put into their cuisine.

I would highly recommend Giggling Squid for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion, or simply to enjoy a wonderful dinner with friends or family. The combination of enchanting ambience, impeccable service, and delicious food makes it a top choice in Bracknell.

The experience in the Chelmsford restaurant is unfortunately very hit and miss. As much as we enjoy the food, the customer service can be extremely average. We visited last night and (not for the first time) found it really difficult to attract the attention of any staff. There was no desire to find out how we were enjoying our food (very much as it happens) or to offer further drinks. I’m really not a fan of paying good money to be ignored.

I fed this back in the post-dining survey and received a bog-standard ‘cut and paste‘ response.

It’s not a cheap experience and I am honestly (and reluctantly) starting to think that we might be better off visiting a restaurant that actually values our custom.

And why is it so difficult to get a beer filled right to the top? It seems that GS has a policy of ‘short serving´ pints by including an inch of foam, in order to further maximise profits.

Extremely disappointing.

Visited the Bury St. Edmunds restaurant today and the vast majority of vegan dishes have been removed from the menu. The brand has always been my go to and fantastic, especially for vegan dishes, but was taken today for my birthday to a menu with hardly any vegan dishes, they had no sparkling water and service was just ridiculously lazy and like they weren’t bothered to help or accommodate. So we walked out before ordering leaving a birthday meal ruined and hunting around for another restaurant. Well done giggling squid! Loyal customers now lost.

Amazing menu. I had 6 things in the end (at the very pretty Chelmsford restaurant) as I just could not decide what was best! Excellent service. The food was so delicious and well cooked/presented that I have to go back at least twice more in the near future to have it all again, and try more dishes.

Awful experience. Ordered a takeaway at 6:45 on NYE with an estimated delivery of 8-830pm and didn't ever arrive. Called restaurant a number of times and they promised it was on the way. Previously have been to the restaurant multiple times but never again!

Once again Cheltenham Giggling Squid has not disappointed, outstanding food, outstanding service and value 👌 caramelised pork belly, cheek pork cooked to perfection, plus the perfect jasmine rice and let's not forget the mouth watering taste of the one bite salmon 😋
Then to finish we had a Molton chocolate and a mini salted caramel dessert. Have to say what a great meal to end 2023.

I attend the giggling squid in Marlow High Street Buckinghamshire a couple of weeks ago with a big group of office people the service the food was outstanding. There’s no words for it. It was amazing very efficient quick attentive amazing and I’d like to actually say a very big thank you to all the members of staff. It was on Wednesday, the 6th of December in the evening. Thank you

We had a really good meal in Sevenoaks, great service by the many staff including Gem. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was convivial. Our first time but we will be back.

Today was my first time attending a Giggling Squid branch. I went to the Tunbridge Wells, Kent branch.
The atmosphere felt homely and friendly, the staff were polite and service was swift. The food was delicious. I had the Vegetable massaman curry and jasmine rice. Would highly recommend!
