Camera overheats
Camera overheats, lags, slows down computer and support is useless and doesn’t offer any warranty solutions.
I ended up having to throw it in the trash despite my repeated emails.
Buy a Logitech Brio for the PERFECT webcam. Lumina has no benefit, only downsides.
5 stars
Speedy delivery and got it within a few days of days of ordering. The setup was intuitive and straight-forward. Colors are vivid and sharp. I didn't realize how grey and pixelated my Macbook webcam was despite being a newer model. Loving the experience so far!
If I could leave -StarsSCAM
If I could leave -Stars, I would. After ordering the sample of $6.95, eight days later I was charged for $96.95 twice. After calling I was told no refunds would be made. I have reported this to my credit company who is starting a dispute. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.
Poor performance on my macbook
Poor performance on my macbook. Can only use raw at 720p as frame rate gets choppy once you try and use AI mode.
Have switched back to internal camera as trying to use Zoom with Lumina kills my machine.
Running on 6-core i7 macbook with 32G of RAM.
Disappointing experiencing thus far
I was one of the early backers on Indiegogo and have to say that I have been rather disappointed.
I don't have too much of a problem with the camera itself but I think they have massively underdelivered. The feature that was touted with the camera when on Indiegogo was this calibration using a color card but since I received my camera in December '21, it is still not available.
I think in one of the updates that came out in December '21 or Jan '22 was that the algorithm needed some tuning and so would be disabled and would be available again in the coming weeks. It is now May '22, weeks and months later, but still no sign of it. While there are still new revisions of their app being released, any mention of this color card seems to have disappeared. The support page (do a search for color card), says:
"Regarding the Color Card - we're sorry to inform you that we've temporarily disabled the color tuning feature and will be re-releasing it in a few weeks. After some debugging, we found that our correction algorithm was too sensitive, so the algorithm needs to be re-tuned by our engineers. We're still in progress with the debugging and we will announce in the future release of an update if the feature is being enabled again."
While they've stated it is "temporary", they've contradicted themselves with that final sentence. Instead of saying "...when the feature is being enabled again", it states "...if the feature is being enabled again". I hope it was just a typo but it wouldn't surprise me if meant exactly what it states. Even on their main website, the only mention of the color card is that it is included in the box, not a soon to be added feature.
This is pure speculation but I think what they will do in the future is state that their revamped algorithms now do not need to use the color card for calibration. If they do this, hopefully it is fact, not fiction but given my experience so far, I wouldn't hold my breath.
I noticed on their website, they claim to have a review of 5 stars over 1000+ reviews and a best design award, but I have no idea where these reviews and award have come from since I wasn't able to find the source of these reviews. A couple of months ago, I received an invitation (along with other early backers I believe) to invest in the company. With so little transparency and so many claims, I hope that those who did invest will not lost their investment.
I wouldn't call it a bad product. I like the design, I like the build quality. But ultimately, for the price of $200 and lacking the feature that it touted, it is not worth the money.
Worst delivery experience ever
It took 3 months to find out that the delivery service lost my camera. It took one more month to send me the new camera instead with the UPS fee for the half of the camera's price. And the fee appeared 1 day before the delivery then.
As result - no money for camera (no refund option for my country), no camera and extra fee.
Camera does not work after software…
Camera does not work after software update. Tech support is unhelpful. They do not know what has caused the camera to stop working. I have only had it less than a month. It worked fine moments before the update. Avoid until they figure out their support issues.
I purchased their camera and it’s not…
I purchased their camera and it’s not working on my MacBook Pro as promised, nor are they responding to any requests for support. I feel like I have been scammed out of $200. I do not recommend this underwhelming product.

Buyers beware - Lumina is aesthetically pleasing, but software is half-baked at best.
As an Indiegogo backer, we expect bumps along the product launch ride. The camera is now being sold publicly however, and it is not fair on the market to be falsely sold a product which remains half-baked.
Feedback and support is extremely poor - the only mechanism to deliver this is through a support email. The Windows software is a poorly ported over Mac application. The "AI features" marketed are sup-par or non-existent - for example, the Colour Card Calibration is still not available despite customers being informed in product roadmaps that it WILL be released in v.0.1.1 which has come and gone with no acknowledgement of this lacking feature. Another example - the AI blur is far inferior versus what is already available in MS Teams and Zoom; the blur/cameraman/etc. features don't even work with other services (like Facebook Messenger or the built-in Windows Camera application). I have shared this feedback, asked for roadmap clarifications, and sought general support from Lumina with little to no avail in the last 3 months.
Buyers beware - Lumina has fantastic marketing, and an aesthetically beautiful product (IMO). However, the software marketed on their website which the camera is so heavily reliant on, is months away from production release, if at all. Be critical of the founders and their motivations, and do your due diligence before spending RRP $250 (currently $199) on a camera which has a nice lens. Ultimately, this is a nicer camera which doesn't offer anything else that your laptop webcam and software from Zoom or MS Teams can already do 90% of.
(Please note that this only an accurate recount of my experience at time of writing on 21-March-2022; I acknowledge that products can improve over time, which I hope this one will.)

i juist want a camera to work on…
i juist want a camera to work on demand, this beta product takes too much time for on the go proffesionals. I dont have time to sit here and change settings, fix exposures and the list goes on and on and on.... for the price I paid this really needs to be in the lab with you until you can fully bake the product! I'm conducting 5-6 webinars a day, I need quick great quality products noyt this beta product!!

Avoid this camera
Avoid this camera. Started off nice but firmware updates rendered my camera dead. 2 weeks of support and still nothing. Support is very unhelpful and lacking. 2-3 day response times only to ask a question that's clearly been answered in the thread.

customer support needed/unavailable????
hello,
Can someone help us get to this great customer support everyone is talking about? It has been a crazy ride trying to connect with them via email, phone, app etc. Each time we schedule a meeting via their system it gets cancelled immediately! LOL Thanks Dawn

I don't trust this company
It's been 6 months since I pledged as an early backer through Lumina's Indiegogo campaign. The camera never arrived.
I followed up with support and they said they’d investigate. After receiving no response, I followed up numerous times. One response from Lumina said it was delivered and they’d not issue a refund or send a new camera. I again reiterated that the device never arrived, they did not respond.
I received an email today stating that they confirmed that the shipment was lost or stolen and asked me to pay an additional $30 to rush a new one out to me.
I’m now requesting a refund again and considering reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau and any other relevant authorities.

Making your problem my problem - complete loss
Ordered 2 for our company presenters. 1 of the 2 showed up and no problem. The other never arrived to the destination by way of USPS. Lengthy back and forth and company finally says too bad, so sad. We are not responsible for shipping providers mistake. So end game, we are out the total amount. The company selected the shipping provider to use and so the responsibility for delivery is their issue. Put in a claim with USPs they said. This response defies any logic. Offer insurance or bear the cost for the few that get lost by your shipping provider. If they can't get this part right, there there isn't much hope for the future with this one. Lesson, don't buy off brands from tiny start ups that don't know how to manage supply chain end-to-end.
And they did finally respond by way of this platform that they would escalate to mgmt. Fricking crickets. This is what your going to get if you have the slightest issue. Be warned. Why not just buy a Logitech and not deal with this BS. We could have returned the item and been down the road actually working on the project instead of jerking around with these clowns. Please stop selling product if you can't support it. Oh bother. Just get one the Logitech comparable device on Amazon using Prime and have no problems.

Refund promised, then ghosted
Expected: took longer than planned to arrive (no big deal)
Unexpected: the quality was nothing like what is shown on the website/indiegogo campaign
Criminal: I sent the camera back, was promised a refund, 2+ weeks later, it hasn't arrived. I was told it was imminent. Now they're not responding to emails.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Just get a Logitech
I regret not going for the obvious Logitech cam or sticking with Macbook's built-in camera.
- Video comes out very weirdly photoshopped, the demo on the website is far from what I got
- Delivery time is terrible, took a month instead of one day
- Price is not great + import tax (50 EUR for me)
- You need to install buggy beta software
Don't buy this if you are thinking too!
Don't buy this if you are thinking too! I was conned by the shiny Indiegogo ads about Lumina 4k webcam and paid for it in August 2021,(Contribution ID
2557) and was told it would be shipped in Oct/ Nov 21. I got a tracking number in 1st week of December 2021, but the tracking was invalid up till end of January.
After sending numberous request to lumina support team, they admitted the item was not sent to me , but when I asked for a refund, they remained silent and did not bother to reply my 10 email request sent .
Indiegogo support has replied me that they cannot refund me and ask me to contact Lumina.
(Problem remained unsolved up till today)
Do yourself a favour, and stay away from Lumina company with horrible customer service and cheats customers of their money.
Companies like Indiegogo should thoroughly scan through who they feature and not support scammers like Lumina.
Help me guys : by sharing this post to any of your friends who are thinking to purchase, so they don't get conned !

Do not buy this no matter how pretty it looks!
Same negative experience as most other actual buyers. It's all a fake. My computer won't even let me download the app the camera supposedly needs to do any of what was promised because it's says it's a fraudulent site. They've mimicked Apple's packaging to make you think you're getting something high-end but it's a total piece of crap. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Beyond frustrated
I am so beyond frustrated with my experience of Lumina. The camera had such promise, but it hasn't lived up to the promise.
When my camera arrived it didn't function at all. It would stall after 2 seconds every time.
I contacted support and the response was relatively quick. They asked me a number of questions and asked me to try a bunch of things. I did that and nothing worked. They then wanted me to record a video showing what happened. I did that and nothing helped.
Finally, they agreed that the unit didn't work and that it needed to be replaced. However, they said they couldn't pay for shipping if it was over $10USD. Also, they didn't have a shipper and I would need to do it myself.
I've sent follow up questions now THREE times in the last month and I'm getting no responses. I send a request for an update each week and NOTHING.
I get that a product like this can have some problems, but you have to make up for that with good service and the service has been AWFUL.
