Wow! A truly five star experience from beginning to end. I was recommended to Gentle Touch Star and they were fantastic. I had to organise my brother’s end of tenancy clean for him as he is terminally ill and had to move in with me in Devon. I was impressed with everything from the swift initial response to my inquiry email, the empathy shown to me when I explained the circumstances, the efficiency and speed at which the clean was carried out, the hassle free organisation for collecting and returning the keys, right through to a great amount of photos of the each room after the clean. The rates were super competitive too which really was the icing on the cake.

Gentle Touch did a great job on my end of tenancy clean-up. It is now in a far better state than when I first moved in!

They are an expensive company and will charge you a significant amount for end-of-tenancy cleaning. Additionally, your landlord might deduct these charges from your deposit.

They make false promises or guarantees about rectifying any cleaning issues that arise later, claiming they will clean it for free, but they end up asking for more money to do so.

They seem to have a side business with building management for end-of-tenancy cleaning, which results in you being charged twice.

To avoid extra charges, ensure that everything you want cleaned is specified in writing, including hall carpets, sofas, mattresses, bathrooms, cupboards, and chimneys. Otherwise, they may leave out additional items, and building management will charge you a hefty fee.

Their workers are skilled but do not understand English. If you provide any cleaning instructions at the house, they might not comprehend, and there will be no guarantee on that task. It is better to email your instructions.

They do not clean the balcony unless you specifically mention it as part of your flat. Be sure to mention the balcony, chairs, tables, and everything else that needs cleaning.

Great end of tenancy clean completed and friendly staff.

Having instructed Gentle Touch to carry out an end of tenancy clean, I must warn potential customers of the shoddy and careless standard of cleaning. The house was still filthy after the cleaners left. I photographed the worse areas and sent an email to the company. I received an email from the office saying they would send someone to clean the floor “ ..,to my satisfaction “. I explained that it was not a question if my satisfaction but they should be cleaning of the other areas to the professional standard I paid for.

I also had to show the cleaner how to clean the door and the washing machine, which to his credit, he did do.

A colleague of his arrived to assist as he soon realised the scale of the work required. He said that cleaning the window frames was not included in a professional clean. I had no energy to dispute this, but all the other companies I have used, have automatically cleaned the window frames. In addition to all of this, I needed to remind them to clean the fire place.

I shan’t be contacting the owner about this, as he said that he wouldn’t send anyone back.

I should not need to spend my afternoon supervising someone I have paid to do a job and send another cleaner after them. This is at all what one would expect. Gentle Touch - it certainly isn’t!
