Dreadful service

What ever you do, do not order direct from this company. Product never delivered and now in the middle of trying to get my money back.

They are a great company

They are a great company, they solely want small shops to succeed, the products are good the company itself is a great company.
As a retailer that sells warhammer products, they really take care of the customer. As a small shop we do have rules but they encourage us to give out free merchandise to help push the game, the prices can be set differently from shop to shop. As so long as you don't advertise, to cheapen the brand, so a small shop can sell cheaper than the actual warhammer site, and guess what they want you to shop small they are pivoted for small shops not Solely internet sales they want you to physically play and shop.

These people are greedy as hell

These people are greedy as hell. They’ve barely updated products in the last 20 years, the instructions are cheap and lazy, and their greed is INSANE. Since the pandemic, they must have increased their prices by at least 30%. Greedy, nasty, corporate a**holes, who don’t care about their customers. Buy from Etsy or China, and to hell with the greed of these vampires.

Overpriced for Poor Quality

I wish I had checked the reviews before buying! For the price you pay, I expected much better quality. The products feel cheaply made, and certainly not worth the premium prices they charge.

To make matters worse, when I reached out to customer service about my concerns, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. I really regret my purchase and won’t be buying from games workshop again.

Save your money and look elsewhere—there are far better options for the same or even lower price.

from 1/5 To 4.5/5

My original review here was mean as my experience with their customer service was poor due to a lack of follow up or clarification in emails and whenever I tried to call the customer service line they were either in trainings or unable to take my call this happened multiple times over different weeks and trying to resolve different concerns such as my account on Warhammer Plus or trying to order something.

However in the last four months the customer service response time has improved and while I have not spoken to them or tried calling them on the phone the email responses are a lot more thorough and direct and have been very kind and generous when it comes to resolving my concerns they were able to let me know when one of my packages were going to be delayed and were kind enough to want to make some amends with my frustrations changing my review from one out of five to 4.5 out of 5 just because of the original poor experience however it feels like a completely different dialog more recently.

5+ months of waiting for product

They took my money, made me wait for 2 months, and then cancelled my order and refunded my money... why take my money in the first place?! They've started using more 3D resin printed models, I have received about 50% of the minis broken because of this. They also take your money for indefinite periods of time. I have over $500 of orders that have been waiting for over 5 months. I can't wait to see if they decide to fulfil the order or just cancel it. You're welcome for the interest free loan!

I had a terrible video interview…

I had a terrible video interview experience with a recruiter from Games Workshop UK. She was behaving smug and condescending throughout the entire interview, not paying attention, staring into space, and asking redundant and inane questions just by rewording them and expecting a new answer, whereby the only correct answer was "customer service experience," which was mentioned multiple times prior by myself ad-nauseum with given examples.

She had no concept of how a business is managed, went by the script, was just listening for keywords, and didn't actually bother to understand what was being said to her. Apparently she surmised that people are there to learn, paint and go home; "it's fine if someone doesn't buy a product and goes home" is a bizarre thought process for an offered retail sales job, so she doesn't see any value in personality or good salesmanship to draw folks in.

Maybe take her own advice, make sure the interviewing "experience" is better, and improve upon her social skills. Utter waste of my time and I will have no further interaction with this company or its staff.

Shocking service

Shocking service. Pre-ordered items on 6th July. Release date was 20th July. It's now 27th July and no delivery. Tried to contact them but nobody there at weekends. They might respond within 3 working days. No more! I'm selling my Warhammer armies and having nothing more to do with these people.

Evil Company

All companies are greedy, But games workshop might be the most evil greed I've seen. Their prices are unfathomable. And they just always want more. They dont get it

The webshop is a scam, as they never have stock.

I preordered a box set on the 6th of January. Paid the price in full. Product was supposed to be shipped on the 20th of January. My order was confirmed as being available and scheduled to be shipped on time. I cancelled my preorder at the end of May, as I still did not get my product.

From January to July the box set I wanted to buy was never available on their direct webstore.

Ordered from a different retailer that told me they can get it, as it is available in the EU warehouse. It is now July, and the box I want to buy is still "Temporarily unavailable" or "Out of stock".

Do not trust

This company charges scam prices, gaslights it's costumers, uses gross legal overreach. Most reviews online are paid for to only say good things. They release false statements and cannot be trusted in any way

End of my waaarggh.

Me my friend and our sons have 9 x 2k point army’s ( 7 to 8k Orks ) plus a few more 1k army’s. We were active 9th addition players various formats even playing GT players. We looked forward to 10th edition as first time at the start of an edition, bought leviathan x2 (Imperialis x 2 never got round to even playing ) we play at wayland games loads of tables but cannot get any of my friends to play 10th. Even our campaign group fizzled out had one great siege session nothing to do with 10th ed, but that’s it . Bought Orks and custodies codex been 2/3 weeks not even picked them up yet. Cannot put my finger on it to be honest but just not fun anymore didn’t mind tempest of war but current format just ! Plus obvious GW money grab just seems more sad and clear now. But playing more games like eclipse, magic, civilisation looking forward to uk games expo - not for GW stall give that a miss. You should see our warhammer room Orks, csm, chaos knight, custodies , death-guard, chaos deamons, Astra, necrons, nids, space marines, battle sisters all sitting on the shelf even the tournament terrain(not GW) look around sort you game out. If I launched you game right now it would fail as to expensive, bad rules , bad terrain . We should all be able to play the game and have fun and have a separate rule set for tournament play. Combat patrol just shows how badly the game is balanced, it should be your starting point but shows all the issues with the game. I like numbers started with my stepson in 5th ended with my 14 year old son in 10th . Waaarggh but looks like you lost 8/9 of us. All games need balance but 40K needs some limits. You may think you show 50% at tournament level but trust me that does not show at family / friendly level as we don’t have access to tournament level army’s or sometimes we do which is the issue .I have 8 k Orks I need 4 more planes 8 more buggies and some more hog riders and hero’s and trucks maybe £500 + and then my already £1500 army can run any GW format but then we all know that only gets me so far as GW decides what army should win.

As a returning hobbyist to Games…

As a returning hobbyist to Games Workshop, (Last year I felt it was time to do a review as it's been bad experience after bad experience this is just a small insight in to his bad it has been)

I was initially impressed by the exceptional service at the physical stores. However, my online and customer service experience has left much to be desired.

I started by ordering the "Cadia Stands" box, which was listed as available online. After waiting two weeks with no delivery, I discovered at the store that it was no longer in print—an issue I only managed to resolve by showing a screenshot from the GW website. Unfortunately, the customer service I received during this ordeal was shambolic; no apologies or solutions were offered until I provided proof of the product’s supposed availability.

When I finally received the rule book three weeks later, it was nearly immediately outdated by a new FAQ release, rendering it unusable. This has been a frustrating pattern: insufficient play-testing seems to lead to continuous product updates, which feels unfair to consumers expected to constantly buy new editions.

I had plans to start a Stormcast army, but given how quickly the game's components become obsolete, I’m glad I hesitated. Similar issues have affected other lines, such as the Beastmen, indicating a trend of rapid obsolescence that doesn’t respect customer investment.

Looking at alternatives, I found that companies like Wargames Atlantic offer competitive and affordable options, such as their "Bulldogs" which are significantly cheaper than GW’s offerings. Additionally, the rise of 3-D printing presents a promising alternative, offering cheaper and customizable options.

In conclusion, while the in-store staff at Games Workshop are commendable, the overall pricing and product strategy are pushing me towards more sustainable and affordable alternatives. I hope GW can address these issues soon, as the hobby is dear to many, but the current approach feels neither fair nor sustainable.
