Karl went over and above sending me replacement parts

The Serena is a comforting, stylish chair - great purchase! The oat linen texture looks beautiful in our neutral coloured nursery. Also the pillow is so comfy as a nursing/sleep pillow too - cried when I lost it! Customer service has been incredibly kind in helping me replace it - thank you, Karl!

Love love this chair! It’s my favourite place to curl up and breastfeed, so so comfortable and cosy. Looks so gorgeous in nursery and think it’s timeless. When I ordered the chair back in November 2024 there was an issue whereby it got lost in transit and Nicky at Gaia went above and beyond to ensure I got the same chair as originally ordered although was out of stock in the UK. Beautiful quality and would highly recommend!

Amazing product, truly beautiful with excellent customer service. We love our rocking chair, it fits perfectly in our nursery and will for sure have it for many years to come based on the quality. We had a slight problem with 1 bolt not connecting correctly, John Lewis put us in contact with the manufacturer and Gaia contact us right away, sent us the new part we needed and went above and beyond to help make sure we were happy customers. Truly exceptional customer service by a team who clearly cares about their customers and still understand the importance of human relationships within a sales and after sales customer journey.

Avoid This Brand at All Costs. Worst furniture shopping experience ever.
Ordered the Gaia Baby Hera Cot from John Lewis.
1. Late Delivery: The cot arrived 17 days after my order, well past the promised 14-day timeframe.
2. Dishonest Manufacturer: The first cot had four base panels with patched drill holes, yet was sold as new. Completely unacceptable.
3. Terrible Quality and Appalling Advice: The cot couldn’t be assembled because the dowels and holes didn’t align. When I raised this with John Lewis, got contacted by Gaia Baby’s owner (Karl) and was told to either force the dowels in or even assemble it without the misaligned metal screw — utterly irresponsible advice.
4. Replacement Disaster: After nearly two weeks of chasing, only half of the replacement was sent (one of the two boxes). The replacement parts were in even worse condition, with multiple defects:
- Dented panel edge and sharp protruding corner.
- Metal debris on a panel that cut my wife’s finger.
- Cheaply patched veneer made from multiple glued slices — completely different from the original single-piece veneer, which the company falsely claimed was “natural wood grain variation.”
5. Final Replacement – Still Poor: Another two weeks later, the “final” cot arrived, again full of defects and alignment issues. Assembly took us over six hours due to:
- Misaligned leg and splintered platform edge.
- Bent base support strip, misaligned panels.
- Side panels too short — had to reuse parts from the first shipment.
- Mismatched veneer patterns clearly from different batches.
- Side railings sitting unevenly above front and back panels.
6. After all these frustrations, we had no choice but to keep the final replacement as our baby urgently needed a cot. John Lewis offered only a small goodwill refund; Gaia Baby offered nothing for compensation even after requested by John Lewis.
Absolutely do not buy from this brand. Faulty products, appalling quality control, and dismissive customer service.
Thank goodness we bought through John Lewis — dealing directly with Gaia Baby’s owner would have been a nightmare.
My husband and I bought they Hera cot and matching dresser for our new baby. We absolutely loved the look of it and it is incredibly sturdy. However, now that bub is 9 months old, I have faced issues with two things. Firstly, the dresser changer (the extra piece that sits on top of the dresser for changing the baby's nappy) is so high that when bub kicks, I cop it straight to the boob area (ouch!!!). I have also found that since having to drop the height of the cot, the cot is SO TALL! I am not overly short, (5'4'') but trying to pick up and lay bub down smoothly is next to impossible. Again, I am not that short but this cot is SO HIGH. I have had to ask hubby to make a big step so that I am no longer hurting my back when lifting bub out of the cot. If you are a tall man/woman then this cot/dresser combo is fabulous! But if you aren't.. Good luck.

Would like to give 4,5, but there are no halves here.
I bought the Hera Studio dresser.
Shortly, pros:
- design – modern, very functional, space-saving;
- materials – unexpectedly solid wood (not just the wooden legs and veneered remains as is with the vast majority of furniture in this price category);
- customer support – friendly, compensates for the lack of automatic order updates on the website.
Cons:
- There was a minor manufacturer's defect on one of the front parts, but not something I'd bother to return.
Couldn't properly track the order (the online status was just 'confirmed'). But the delivery driver called me a day before, and eventually the item arrived sooner than it was expected.

Brilliant customer service.
A clip on our bedside crib broke after many years of use and the cusromer service team have arranged to send out a replacement part from the factory. They have been more than helpful.

I don’t understand the current rating, this company deserves more than a 5 star. Not only they manufactured quality, sustainable and beautiful furnitures, they have a dedicated team of experienced and wonderful people who go well and beyond for the customer ❤️

My partner and I have bought the Hera dresser and the Serena cot with all the extensions along with the baby changing tray and fitted mattress sheets. We love the products, they are both very stylish and extremely well made along with being ethically made.
Customer service has been second to none (Karl especially went the extra mile to help me with the assembly of the crib via a video call).
I highly recommend Gaia baby for being a top notch company!

From the onset of our business with Gaia Baby we found a professional, dedicated team who go far and long to deliver customer satisfaction.
Even before buying, Gaia Baby's team assisted us with using a (recently) expired voucher. Then the unthinkable happened when the logistics firm failed to bring a box of three on the set.
Thankfully Karl swiftly setup a new shipment, coordinated it with shipping our baby carrier too, and we had the dresser assembled over the following weekend.
Assembly was just easy and the quality of materials and construction visible throughout.

I needed a Hera bedside crib upgrade kit which wasn’t currently available in the country where I live. Customer service was able to source it for me from a warehouse in Ireland. I appreciate their help in getting me the upgrade kit. Their efforts exceeded my expectations!

My Gaia Hera chair is great, easy to assemble, very sturdy and stylish. The customer service is also very good, emails are answered swiftly and they are very helpful. I had to return a crib (because a family member bought me one at the same time!). They made this really easy.

I contacted them about a Hera crib that arrived with scuffs, scratches, and boot marks, not in new condition with defects, gave them pictures with all details. Got downright ignored.
Update: Since writing this review the Gaia team has got in touch has helped to resolve things. There was simply a technical error in communication.

I've bought both my cot and nursing chair from Gaia. The quality has been great and customer service very responsive. Would highly recommend.

We ordered the Serena dresser and Hera cot. The dresser had no online video instructions, the written instructions were incorrect. For the premium price it was very disappointing. Now our dresser has a gap because the holes don’t match up for you to tighten it all together.
You could contact cool kids Australia for assistance but they’re very unhelpful. Bare minimum effort. I would not recommend it to anyone. It’s such a precious time before your baby arrives and it’s stressed us out and in the end we just have to deal with what we have. Order from a company that you can contact and be more helpful.

I purchased 2 Serena cot beds for my twins. They slept in one together for the first few months before moving into their own. It is a beautiful cot and a nice mid size that meant we could fit two into a small bedroom and the twins slept in them happily until just before they started school. They were robust! Stood up to lots of climbing! Almost felt a bit sad to take them apart - baby bed era is over!!!

Rocking chair collapsed underneath mum and baby whilst feeding.
It was assembled correctly, as per the instructions. All screws were utilised.
Instead of providing a refund, the company refused, offering a replacement instead. Obviously, after it collapsed underneath my wife and baby, I didn't want a replacement, so told them not to bother sending. They sent it anyway, so when it arrived we left it out for a council collection with the broken chair.

After purchasing a Hera dresser that had manufacturing errors, we complained, and the owner, Karl, contacted us directly to rectify it. He came personally (driving two and a half hours to our home) to replace the defective pieces and finished putting it together for us. He even returned 4 months later to build a separate cot for us, replacing the wood pieces so that it matched the colour of our dresser exactly. It's the kind of personal service that you just don't expect from businesses anymore. Aside from the faults with our first purchase, the quality of the items is very good. Sturdy, heavy pieces of quality wood. Our nursery looks lovely, and anyone who sees it asks where we got our furniture from. Thank you, Karl. Very much appreciate everything you've done for us.
