Website is easy to use, still no bound postal copy
Website is easy to use, quick, and the final Will looks like it will do what it needs to. Not sure if it would suffice for complicated affairs, but for my simple requirements it was fine.
I have paid £30 (as has my partner) for a posted, bound copy, and to date - some 10 days after it was posted, and 3 weeks from paying our combined £60, nothing has been received.
Correspondence with FreeWills via email has been answered quickly and politely, and they have said that new wills will be posted out again today. So we'll see - I am slightly sceptical as there seems to be several reviews here that detail postal copies not being received - and whilst Royal Mail isn't what it used to be, this seems to be a recurring theme.
That is the one fly in the ointment, we paid the extra as it seemed reasonable, given the service we were getting for nothing - compared to going to a solicitor - so it has soured the experience slightly, as we are currently £60 out of pocket. Shame because otherwise, we were impressed, and have recommended to others.

Thanks for your review, Kenneth, much appreciated. I agree, it is not good that customers are not receiving their wills. Sadly, RM is not what it used to be, but please understand that we send 100's of wills to clients and given that scale, some do go missing or are delayed which is totally out of our control. Frustrating for you and us. However, we will always post another out to you if it has not been received.
Regarding more complex wills, yes, we do these, however, as they are bespoke, for example, having to draft a life interest trust into a will, we deal with these with the client direct as they are too confusing for the lay person to draft and require a qualified practitioner who understands trusts and estates etc. Even better, our trusts are affordable for many at only £179 for each trust and they allow you to protect your share of the home from care fees if you die and your partner then is taken into care, your share of the home then passes to your beneficiaries.

I wrote my will and the people said it was OK checked it and I could do a print out with my computer or get solid on for £30 I chose this I found it easy and was very happy with the final will . I would definitely recommend this company .

I had wanted to update my out of date…
I had wanted to update my out of date will for a long time but I felt under pressure from other legal firms. Free Wills was mentioned by Tourette's Action.
Excellent service, user friendly website, professional staff and free. I did pay £ 25 to have the will printed and bound and I made a donation to TA now, while I know it will come to good use. I will now make a Lasting Power of Attorney.

Scam!! Beware!!!
Scam!!! Took my money and I got nothing in return!! I paid £25 for my father in law's will to be written up. I had to pay the money for a faster service as FiL is terminal and didn't have a will in place. All we got back was an email saying will wasn't 'legal' and we needed to see a solicitor!?! Is that not what you are?? Could you not have guided us to make it legal?? It was one dying mans wish to leave his belongings and savings to his son? Don't understand how that is illegal? Managed to sort will in the end with another company, who were amazing!!!

You paid £25 for an express check of a will that was not YOUR will. You fail to explain that there were excluded relatives and your husband being the only beneficiary of a will that you drafted for someone else. Furthermore, it matters not if somebody is terminal and you are drafting on their behalf. You left that will open to being contested for fraud, lack of capacity, undue influence or coercion. We have a duty of care to whoever that will is for and we will NOT authorise one through drafted in that manner. Just because our wills are free does not exonerate us from being liable legally if we authorise a will through that should not have been.
Onto the £25 you paid, that was for an express check of the will and we performed that obligation. Your claims of a scam are completely unfounded and defamatory.
Stop passing the blame onto a company that provides an excellent service to people when in fact, you should have made contact first and asked if what you were doing was acceptable, it would have saved you £25 in the long run and we could have easily advised you on what to do.
