Same story as everyone else - NO REFUND

Same story as everyone else, booking made and paid for over a year ago, cancelled because of covid 19, told refund will be 4-6 weeks still nothing nearly a year later, have been told refund will be in 2021 but I am sure this will then change to 2022 once this year is done, DO NOT USE!!!!

Still no refund form Flixhotels, booked 9/4/2020
I had booked a trip with Flixhotels in early March 2020. I made a mistake in the booking and I was allowed to cancel it for free. My money would be returned within 6 weeks. #Flixhotel gave me the choice of a Voucher or money back in May. What a choice !!!! Of course I chose to refund my money. I was promised that I would get my money back within 6 weeks. This did not happen. Then an email came from flixhotels that I had to be patient and that the refund could take until 31/12/2020. Well it is now the 24/02/2021 and still no money back. Called and emailed several times now. Now the say that I will not receive it until 2021. This is an embarrassing company that has made false promises and has literally stolen money at this point. I know that I am not alone in this case. Save yourself future hassle and stress and don't use this company. They have had over 9 months to resolve my case and they have failed to do so.

Would Give Zero If I Could

I would give zero if I could since I am yet another person who has not received my money back from March last year. My story is pretty much the same as Martin Cassidy's earlier review. I have signed forms to instigate a chargeback with my credit card company three times but still no funds returned. Disgusting.

Booked to take my kids to Disney Land…

Booked to take my kids to Disney Land Paris through Trivago not knowing the booking would end up with Flix Hotels. Unfortunately due to covid 19 I was forced to cancel my trip which included the "FREE CANCELLATION" Flix hotel room. They initially gave me a voucher which I declined. They then informed me i had to accept the voucher as German law changed at the start of April 2020. Fortunately I requested the refund prior to this alleged law change and again requested a full refund. I was then promised my money within 6 weeks. This did not happen. On further contact I was then informed they can settle the refund right up to 31/12/20. Well it's now the 31/12/20 and still no money and no contact. This is a shameful company that has made false promises and has quite literally stole money at this point. I know I am not alone in this matter. Please save yourself future hassle and stress and do not use this company. They have had 8 months to resolve my case and they have failed to do so.

This 3rd party company took my…

This 3rd party company took my reservation and did so in a way that I was not aware ....they had incepted my honeymoon booking. I got to the hotel we booked and it was a SHAM. The room was AWFUL and we paid 200$ for it per night. We did NOT stay and asked the hotel to compensate us and of course, they would not due to FLIX HOTELS incepting our reservation from their site. BEWARE.

Legal action?

Again in a similar position where they have not refunded for close to 5 months.

I am considering legal action and if we have a group of people in the same situation we likely have a very strong case here.. Is anyone else wanting to take action?

If so please let me know and we can discuss direct.

Do Not Use

We booked with Flix for 2 reasons - 1 it was the cheapest option and 2 - cancellation policy. We made reservations only to find out from our friends who are staying at the same hotel, the hotel is not re-opening b/c of COVID. Our friends were reallocated to a sister property, however, we were not notified. I reached out to the hotel and Flix to see if we could be moved to the same sister property. The hotel responds back and says no problem. Flix responds back saying that the hotel will not respond to them and they are cancelling our itinerary (total BS since I received comms from the hotel the same day). Flix says they will refund us but they cannot put it back on our credit card and will need our SWIFT and IBAN codes. We immediately called our credit card company to tell them what had happened and to stop payment for Flix. I'm glad we were able to catch this in time before we were scammed but it sounds like several folks weren't as fortunate.

Scam Company BEWARE

Sooo seems like Flixhotels are just a scam Company by reading the reviews, I also have been a victim of them. Again they state "FREE CANCELLATION" however I'm yet to receive a refund almost 6 months on now and still no closer to getting a refund. Extensive amount of emails have been sent to them however I get ignored or when they do reply they say they can offer a credit note. I don't know how many times I need to tell someone I don't want a voucher. The first email they said it would be December 2021 for a refund then after arguing that, they changed it to December 2020 however I do not believe they have any intention in refunding anyone. They are a Joke and I highly suggest you never use them.

They steal your money

I booked a room with flixhotel and the event I was going to was cancelled due to coronavirus. I asked if I could have a refund on the room or move my dates to another time and waa told that the hotel had said I couldn't and therefore they were unable to do so. I kept the room and i travelled 70 miles to get to the hotel to be told they had cancelled my room. I said to the hotel I was told the room couldn't be cancelled and refunded. The manager of the hotel confirmed the room was refundable and they had refunded flixhotel but flixhotel refused to refund me! They have kept my £139 and are refusing to give me my money back. They are thieves. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

Do not book through Flix.

Same story as many.

Hotel promoted as 'free cancellation' and once cancelled, unable to obtain a refund. Been waiting two months now and advised they will take up to December 2020.

No doubt deciding every month whether to fold the company and run, or to give out refunds.

I will be going through the credit card for the refund now.

STAY away from FLIX HOTEL

I cancelled my cancellation free booking in April, still no money refunded. They just told me loads of lies . I sent them 100 emails ,I complained to Trivago, and European consumer , now I got a lawyer . Am still waiting but this scam company said after 12/2020 which they probably don’t exist anymore

Cancelled my booking and kept the cash.

Hotel have confirmed they have never been paid by Flixhotels and would have allowed us to reschedule our stay if it had not been cancelled by the booking agent.

Rude immoral staff that are profiteering from a global pandemic.

AVOID because FLIX is a shame.

I agree with the other reviews, this company is a sham, and must be avoided - AND - they are still advertising FREE CANCELLATION. See copy below taken from their web site today!!! "Bayswater Inn

I also tried to cancel my booking for a stay at an English hotel in November 2020, just one day after I booked. After sending them 4 emails and getting replies telling me stuff about German Government cancellation rules, I have also been told that I must wait until December 2021. I will now email all hotels using Flix and offering free cancellation and post on those hotels' trip advisor pages.

Dreadful Company avoid

I have had the same dreadful service as my of the posters below. Saying they will post the money back into your bank account and then changing to a credit note and stating if you want a refund you will have to wait until 31st December 2020.
I have e mailed the details of my complaint to the uk office for European Consumer issues. I have also this morning wrote to Angela Merkel ( nothing ventured nothing gained !)asking for her help

I have now received another email stating that a refund is not possible as its a non refundable booking, however, the hotel went bust so they cancelled the contract and not me.

Message from Flixhotels.com after 10 weeks from cancellation my 'free cancellation booking':

'Thanks for your call, in which you informed us that you do not want to accept the provided voucher.

The decision of the German government regarding the voucher regulation is still pending. However you have the right to demand payment after 31.12.2021. So if you do not want to accept the travel voucher and would like to apply for a refund instead, please proceed as follows:

Send us an E-Mail with subject "Request a refund instead of a voucher - your booking number" and the following details to [email address]:
Your name

Your booking number/ invoice number

Bank details (IBAN, BIC) for the refund

Note: Refunds on credit cards are not possible'
