Abusive fee. Withdrawal difficult.
When I started investing in Flender in 2019, they promised to have a secondary market. They never did that.
All of a sudden they introduced today a flat monthly fee of 12.50 without giving any chance of exiting your investments.
Since this fee is bigger than my current yield including amortization, I'll lose all of my investment.
Last but not least, withdrawal is currently blocked.
Sudden "lending fee"
Flender suddenly charges a "lending fee" of 12.50 Euros per month without proper justification and without an option to withdraw your money and opt-out. For a small investor like me this makes my investment unprofitable if not loss-making. Very unsatisfied with this.
12,50€ monthly fee for lenders!
A sudden change from a free lending platform, to a 12,50€ monthly fee scheme without secondary market is just atrocious!
Now they charge €150 per year
I have used Flender for a few years. About a year in, a few companies defaulted on their loans. Flender provided no comeback against the loanee. Lesson learned and I took most of my funds from Flender.
Today, they announce a €150 charge per year to use their platform. No warnings that the charge was coming. This company won't last long.
Serious Issues with Loans - Late/Loss
I have loaned to 23 campaigns with Flender since the end of 2020. Of that 23 , 2 are late with less than 5 payments each and another 2 are losses. 1 of which I did not receive a single payment.
After questioning Fender as regards their due diligence when it comes to providing funding I am not convinced they look into most companies properly. They fobbed me off with a typical answer of they are doing all they can.
I have another P2P lending account with another company in which I have funded over 47 campaigns without a single loss /late payment so it makes you wonder what the hell the bean counters at Flender are doing. I would not use Flender again, I am in the process of winding down my account and moving all my funds to my other account.
Difficult to contact
Difficult to contact, weeks trying to get someone to help access my money.
perfect and no troubles
I'm from Italy and i invested 1.5k-2k in Flender since November 2020. i chose different companies creating a well assorted portfolio with a good rating (from B\B+ to A) avoiding bad companies.
I retook my money with interests so i have not any troubles in two years. Negative opinions may be due from investors who move all money on high risky companies attracted by great returns but with high default probability.
There should be NO STARS here
There should be NO STARS here. This is SCAM SCAM SCAM. Lost USD 50.000 on this. Can`t find the site anymore and thats good.
Not the place to invest
Not very good but glad I didn't invest a lot. I ended up losing around 1.5k on a 5k investment due to defaulting. No communication, had to chase them to get info on where my money was. Invest your money elsewhere.
Very bad experience
Very bad experience, not answering emails, no late loans explanations.
Not recommended
Not recommended. No new investment possibilities last month. Customer support is not existent, emails are not being answered.
50% loss
50% loss. Invested in two project, at one had full loss. cannot get the money back as they have introduced a minimal drawback limit of 50€.
Buy ETF instead or go for a great dinner ;)
Please stay away
How can the borrowers make one or two repayments and then default! Where are the controls! Why don't the company fund in blocks so the safeguard is that at least all recoupments will be attained before the next funding amount is released. Beyond a joke of a company. Never again!
One star is too much
This company is SCAM. I late my money 10 days, and I think that I not see my money again. I send 3 emails, but they not answer me. Please don't invest your money in this company.
If you are interested in losses go here
Flender is a investment pooling website that is mainly focused in the Irish market. It lends to Irish companies so that they can make investments. I have used it both personally and through my companies because I found the concept very interesting. I used it for 5 years and I invested in numerous projects, however I made significant losses. In about 50% of the investments I made in the site people would just take the money and fly. There was no due dilligence from Flender side, no special requirements for the companies to meet, no guarantees. Of course those companies were just taking the money and in half of the cases didn't return anything. The majority of the projects are for young established companies, but not startups. The companies have a profile but there is no credit check done nor any trust factor provided, so anyone can basically ask for money. After losing my investments I did some background checks of those CEOs and chairmans who were flying off with the cash and I found out that some of them were serial crooks. No legal assistance is provided either.
Instead of Flender I would recommend Seedrs, Lenddy, Housers and other invetment pooling sites. Some losses can be expected there too, but Flender is a loss leader.
Worth considering as a diversifier
I have been involved here for 12 months so it's too early to reach a definitive conclusion. Because of the initial "cash drag", the annual return to date works out at about 3.7% which isn't bad given the pandemic and inevitable problems with some borrowers; however, it's a lot less than the advertised average returns which could be a bit misleading. The flow of new lending opportunities seems quite consistent and communication of them is very good. Use of AutoFlend makes it easy to adjust risk profile to a preferred level. I can't comment on any difficulty associated with taking funds out as haven't done so yet and won't for some time as long as the platform continues to provide a reasonable return. Overall, Flender is worth considering as a diversifier among other long-term investments, and there is a 'feel good' factor to helping provide finance to smaller enterprises in Ireland, although it might be unrealistic to expect to earn the advertised return even once fully invested.
Don‘t invest your money with them
Very bad experience. They are not calculating the account value correctly and try to convince you their calculation is correct. Very untrustworthy , I will remove all of my funds asap.
Very high risk investment platform.
Great platform
User friendly and easy to use. Team is very helpful.
Looking forward to invest more with Flender.
