I recently tried to view a property via the Chelmsford branch of Fine & Country. Having left a message on a Saturday afternoon and following up with phone calls on the Tuesday and Wednesday I finally had the displeasure of speaking with Neil Maison late on Wednesday afternoon.
His first question… why do you want to view the property? Odd question… my reply because I would like to buy it!
He then went on to tell not to teach him how to sell, ironic given part of my job is to teach enterprise sales teams how to sell. But he didn’t know that.
Next he told me the vendor wouldn’t want to see us as we hadn’t sold, no questions about how we would be funding the purchase.
This experience has left me with serval thoughts about Fine & Country:
1. I would never list my own property with then. If Neil is anything to go by they are lazy, don’t go above and beyond for the vendor.
2. Messages don’t get action on.
3. They don’t get to know the prospective buyer before forming conclusions.
Fine & Country your people are your brand and this type of experience damages that.

Tania Lennard and Tom Spencer from the Diss branch have been excellent to work with. I cannot recommend them or the company more. We are very happy buyers.

The service we received from fine and country Banbury was shocking- people wanting to view our house were not phoned back and had to chase to get a viewing- we were told wrong information about the chain when they did find a buyer causing us to reduce our price based on wrong information- then no after sales support- really disappointing

I purchased a property through the Bovey Tracey branch of Fine & Country South Devon and found the assistance of Samantha Gill and Kim to be absolutely superb — my only wish was that I could have used this team to sell my London house as the contrast of service was so striking.
Having said that, in fact Samantha did manage to resolve directly a number of problems with the firm dealing with the sale of my house and this facilitated this smooth transaction.
Many thanks to the Bovey Tracey team.

Fine & Country has a mixed reputation depending on the branch and specific agents involved. While some branches, like Chester and Diss, provide excellent service, professionalism, and helpful staff, others seem to lack attention to detail or communication. Experiences vary greatly, so I'd recommend researching your local branch thoroughly before proceeding. Overall, 4 stars for their potential but not consistent results.
Great communication. Excellent agents if you are moving to the countryside.

We recently sold our property with Fine & Country and genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better team to guide us through what turned out to be quite a rollercoaster. From the first viewing to securing a new buyer after our initial sale fell through, the entire team we dealt with - Dominique, Lara, Matthew and Mitchell - was incredible.
They handled a whirlwind of activity with calm, professionalism, and a genuinely supportive approach. We’d already taken the leap of buying before selling (never again!) and were under an extremely tight deadline, but their experience and reassurance made all the difference. They kept things moving, kept us sane, and somehow even made it enjoyable.
It might have been just another day at the office for them, but for us, it was a hugely emotional milestone, and we’re so grateful we had them in our corner.
Thank you all so much. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Leaving our family home of nearly 30 years was always going to be very difficult. The team at Fine and Country in Diss were so helpful and supportive all the way through the negotiations and always remained positive in what seemed a never ending chain. We wished for a new family to make our home their forever home and it all happened. Thank you Chris, Sue, Tania, Tom and Julie in Norwich.

I made enquiries to view a property on Friday 14th March 2025, and we drove 1 1/2 hours to view the property on Monday 17th March 2025. I believe there had been a number of viewings that day, of which we were a part of.
From the moment we arrived at the address I could tell that the estate agent ( FROM NORTHERN LINCOLNSHIRE )had absolutely no interest in showing us around the house and made it very difficult for me to gain any information about the property. After our viewing, we were hardly spoken to, and it seemed like she was not interested in us being there.
I returned home and the following day I sent them an email with an offer to purchase the property and an explanation as to my reasons for the offer given.
I received no confirmation that they had received my email and offer, and as such I had to call on 19th March to ask whether my email had been received, and again I was pretty much fobbed off and told that someone else was dealing with the offers and that I would be contacted later that day.
Of course, I never heard back from anyone at Fine and Country ( I did have a missed call on my mobile that I did not recognise, however, no message was left) and when I went online that evening I was surprised to see that the house had been taken off the market and shown as SSTC, after only 5 days of being advertised on Right Move.
Now I have absolutely no problem with the vendor choosing to sell their property to whoever they choose and for whatever they agree as a final sale price. HOWEVER....
I do expect at least the courtesy of a phone call/email to explain that the vendors chose another party to sell to. It was never confirmed if my offer had even been passed onto the vendors as no one at Fine and Country had the decency to discuss our situation and whether we were willing to increase our offer.
I have lived in my current address for the past 28 years and have never wanted/needed to move, this is one of the first times that we have found a property that we would have liked to negotiate with the estate agents and vendors, and we were never given the chance.
There may have been a completely reasonable explanation as to why the house has been sold so quickly, however, if this is not communicated to other potential buyers, how are we to know?
This house was on the market for £575,000 and our house was valued last year before I replaced the roof and the windows, for £650,000 for a quick sale, and therefore, we had a LOT MORE money that we could have offered had we been given the chance.
To say that I am completely astonished by the way they treat potential buyers is an understatement, and in my mind something was going on behind the scenes with this sale, and I should have been told BEFORE I wasted my time driving 65 miles to view the property that I would not even be considered had I even offered well over the asking price.
Warning to anyone selling with Fine and Country be careful as you may be selling your house for a LOT LESS than you could get if not everyone interested in your house is given a chance to offer more than you were expecting. Mind you, a quick sale for the estate agents means commission payments are a lot quicker with less work to do.
And buyers I would also be careful as you may find that a sale is already agreed upon and you may be wasting your time viewing, although more views do look good for the estate agent I suppose.
And to date I still have never heard from anyone about this house.
Will I be viewing any more houses being sold byt Fine and Country.............absolutely not
Would I recommend them to other........absolutely not.
I DO NOT WANT A COPY-AND-PASTE RESPONSE FROM FINE AND COUNTRY AS I HAVE ALREADY SENT AN EMAIL TO THEIR COMPLAINTS ADDRESS AND HAD NO REPLY. THIS REVIEW IS FOR YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS ONLY.
Update 31/03/2025 - Even though I asked for no reply from you, you still replied!!!!!
As stated above, I have already sent my formal complaint email to your complaints email address ( which Trustpilot will not allow me to post ) and the office email, so you already have the name of the office and the agents, as I put them in my complaint email. I did not mention any names in this Trustpilot review for obvious reasons. If you REALLY want to follow this up, then you can always speak with the department I sent my original complaint to 10 DAYS AGO, although I do doubt very much whether that will be done.

We were fortunate to both sell our current home and buy our dream forever home with the Fine and Country team at Diss. The whole process from house valuation, brochure preparation, house viewings, and post sale communication was excellent. The team knew what we wanted and helped us achieve it. Special thanks to Sue for finding our forever home on the very the first day I popped in to register interest and to Tom for ensuring we got over the finish line and keeping my nerves at bay!

Fine & Country lived up to their reputation as being the market leader and go to agent for property sales in our area. The personnel in the Diss Office are seasoned professionals who know their business and were unfailingly helpful and supportive. Sue, Tania and Chris all deserve a particular mention for the roles they played in securing our sale and once it had been agreed, Julie was tireless in progressing the sale to completion. Well done all!

The Diss office staff were always helpful and prompt in their responses and would highly recommend their service.
Keeping us informed on progress.very helpful especially from Chrissi .
Tania and Julie were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Not only did they find our property based on our requirements the post sale support before exchange was exceptional. Would highly recommend this firm to anyone looking to sell as they go above and beyond.
Could not have asked for a more pleasant and helpful company to deal with. From the start Chris, from the Diss office , was very professional and worked with us. The marketing was excellent, producing a beautiful brochure, much better than our previous agent. Everyone in the Diss office was super friendly and good to work with and Julie in the Norfolk office was helpful when we needed her at the end. Thanks to all for bringing us to an exchange of contracts.

Nicola & Liz have been an absolute joy to work with.
Their guidance, help & support, during the purchase of our new home, was fantastic.
On our moving day, they both arrived at our new home, with our keys & presented us with a lovely moving-in gift.
I have no hesitation in recommending them & should we move again, I will be in touch…
Thank you again.

Tania Lennard greatly assisted us during the viewing and purchase of our new house in Stradbroke and the marketing of our existing property. She was helpful and supportive during the period up to and including agreement on both sale and purchase.
Fine & Country produced an excellent brochure and thanks to their photographer Julian Mitchell for presenting our house so beautifully.
After both offers had been accepted Julie Vassar proved invaluable during the time until exchange of contracts, keeping all parties informed of developments and chasing individuals up when things appeared to be slowing down.
Despite the many stresses that can be induced when moving home, the staff at Fine & Country made our recent experience virtually trouble free.
Thank you all,
Derek & Sue Farmer
