I thought I lost all my data when my portable hard drive crashed and reached out to this company to see what could be done. After receiving a phone call and explaining what the issue was, the company explained the process of what would happen from shipping to troubleshooting to what the next step would be. After a little delay when I did not receive a shipping label to ship the HD, Nathan Horner, emailed me directly the information needed and kept me abreast of the process. At first, I was informed the information was not recoverable but they had one last procedure to do and alas I got nearly 100% of the data recovered. Julian Henson sent me a file that showed what was recovered and after paying the balance owed they mailed a new HD with my data on it. The staff I worked with were friendly and very thorough.

Fields did a great job. Their customer support was timely and excellent. I have no complaints at all, I am very satisfied and I would recommend this company to others with no problem.

I paid over $1,250.00 for data recovery on a external hard drive that I accidentally dropped and they recovered none of the data that cost me $1,250.00+ I was better off keeping my money

I called and asked for a quote to retrieve my data from an unreadable HD. I agreed and sent in my old HD. They were able to retrieve my data but then more than tripled the fee that I was quoted. After back and forth negotiations we did settle on a price that I was willing to pay.

When all else failed Fields Came through. My kids knocked a drive off my desk containing years of family photos. Field Data Recovery was able to repair the drive at an affordable price in a short amount of time. They were courteous and detailed, guiding me through the entire process. Just about my entire life was stored on my hard drive and Fields Data Recovery was able to restore my entire hard drive (497 Gb). Overshot typical cost range significantly, but not beyond reason. Unable to recover basic OS settings and bookmarks, but well done on data. Estimate 10-15% recovered imagery unusable, but there was a lot of special format material. Not necessarily a good choice for private home user drive arena. Better suited to larger system user with better cost-benefit and capitalization. On the other hand, if you want some data back and cost is relatively “not important” they will satisfy your need. New drive costs $39; new lap top $1200. Field’s service for 500GB was around $1600, which include data on new drive…but it’s just data, not a “clone” or system drive. This case involved a physical head crash/damage, yet drive would start to boot, then stall.

The company made it easy to recover the data. They sent for the drive and recovered all but a couple of moms files. Considering her harddrive was over 13 yrs old I was surprised they recovered anything. However, the drive contained over 40K pics and important docs my mother has accumulated over the years. The people I spoke with at Fields Data Recovery were great! They were professional, provided me with a quote quickly, covered the shipping cost to send my drive to them, and were able to recover my data within a few days so I didn't lose all the data for my dissertation.

My only issue is the cost. I will pay for service but the cost of $1200 is outrageous.

The service was outstanding and very prompt, but I felt that the price was excessive.
