Fairfix were absolutely brilliant

Fairfix were absolutely brilliant! Quickly detected a leak and few other issues with the boiler, came out in an emergency as the whole system suddenly lost pressure and shut down. Super friendly, professional and helpful, made several visits to make sure everything working perfectly and offered lots of support and advice over the phone. Great value for money, so reassuring to know an experienced engineer who really knows their stuff, highly recommend!

An actual reliable plumber does exist!

Tye has been a life-saver from helping to sort gas certifications, fixing broken boilers, toilets and anything else with a pipe - to helping me figure out which way to turn the valve on an old towel rail. Thank you!

Dear Mr Ahmed

We’ve been trying to get in touch with you regarding the recent repair visit. Please find a summary of the engineer’s report and our recommendations below.

Engineer’s Findings:
• Customer supplied and provided diverter valve kit (installed).
• System found to be heavily sludged.
• A full power flush is strongly recommended to remove debris and sludge.
• Domestic heat exchanger was cleaned.
• Hot water has been restored and is working correctly at present.

Costs:
• Labour (FairFix guaranteed price): £139.00
• Parts: £0.00 (customer supplied)
• Total: £139.00

Important Information:
The system currently contains a significant amount of sludge and debris. If not removed, this can:
• Damage or reduce the lifespan of the diverter valve and other components.
• Cause ongoing issues with your boiler’s performance and reliability.

As the parts were supplied by yourself, please note that FairFix does not provide any warranty or guarantee on these components. We are only responsible for the labour carried out during the repair.

To help protect your boiler and prevent future failures, we strongly recommend arranging a full system power flush at the earliest opportunity.

If you would like us to provide a quotation for this service or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,

FairFix Admin Team

I used Fairfix last year for a boiler…

I used Fairfix last year for a boiler pressure issue and they did a good job, although they tried to oversell me some replacement parts that I was later told by a specialist weren’t necessary. However, the same issues arose with the boiler this year and I asked Tye to return. Tye wouldn’t provide a time to arrive, and just assumed I can wait around at home during the week to fit around his schedule. I ended taking a half day off work to be at home to let him in, only for him to cancel unapologetically and just assume he could come back on Monday. I’m not sure he comprehends other people have jobs too and need to schedule things to ensure they can be at home during the working week. Quite frankly rude and clueless about customer service. Wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

Boiler leak repair

The heating engineer came roughly on time and was friendly. The problem was a leak which later turned out to be because the boiler had not been serviced for a while.
No parts we're needed but he gave good advice on what might need replacing at some point in the future. So far everything is working fine.

Good, reliable, well-priced service.

The engineer attended when he said he would, identified the problem and fixed it without recommending that I need a new boiler (as others have done), but said that if the problem persists he would come back and replace the parts with no further call out charge.

Prompt response to initial enquiry

Prompt response to initial enquiry. There were some issues getting the correct part but I was informed all the way. Quoted price but this was reduced on final invoice as the job took less time and the part was cheaper. The workmen were polite and informed. They cleaned up and advised on what they had done and tested the job to make sure it was resolved. Would use again

Problem with appointment led to lack of trust

I have a problem with my boiler, which works intermittently. I booked an appointment with FairFix, which replied confirming date and name of the person who would come and check it. The appointed person (I'll call them "John Doe", not their actual name) did not show up to the appointment. Someone called hours later saying they were covering for John Doe and arranged a visit. The visitor told me the boiler CPU was broken and it was going to make more sense to get a new boiler. They offered me their phone number. I asked them what their name was, to add it to the agenda. Reply: "John Doe". To my surprise, when I showed him the confirmation message with the same name they replied "must have been another John Doe" (the real name was not as generic). I now don't trust the advice I received, considering the circumstances. I feel it's all down to luck on whichever third party they decide to give the job to. I'm considering looking for another firm that I would trust more, as I've currently paid for the £139 flat fee and the problem has not been solved.

I posted a job on My Builder to fix my boiler, this company answered, I late realised that I spoke with a call centre not an angeeneer, despite I wasn't sure about this, I let one of their engineers to come for an estimate, he arrived 5 h later repect the arranged time, the following day I contacted the call centre to speak with an engineer for the estimate..... engineers not available 30 h later had an email with the estimate, called the call centre to discuss the estimate to see if replacing the boiler would be a better option ...guess what ?! No engineers available so I have been 3 days without a working boiler and this company did nothing to help.
