Wrong colour!

Ordered a root semi permanent custom copper colour. The idea of this company is amazing custom colour based on photos you send. The outcome however is awful. My hair went neon pink from there dark blonde copper colour. Do not recommend.

Really dissapointed in their customer…

Really dissapointed in their customer service. I used them recently, sent photo's of my hair in and explained i was looking to do a root smudge and cover greys. The colourist replied advised the colour chosen was correct and shipped the order. I got in touch to advise it sadly hadn't taken and all greys were still showing, after following the instructions, it also left me with hot roots. To date they haven't replied to me. They advertise a 100% colour satisfaction garauntee and clearly state on the website "if you're not happy your personal colourist will work with you to get your colour just right or it's on us" but have completely ignored my communications, as i did follow up after having no response to my first communication advising an issue. They have my details logged correctly as the stylist contacted me before it shipped.

Mortified

Mortified, i requested a medium ash blonde, pictured as much lighter than my natural colour and the sale sort of lift as my highlights, they reached out to double check id be okay with a slightly higher lift on my highlights and i said this would be fine and was what i wanted. The colour sent has dyed my lovely natural regrowth a horrible muddy blonde with coppery hints even though toner was used. I have no copper tones in my natural hair at all, Worst of all the highlights it as meant to lift it has dyed the same dark muddy blonde! i've reached out to customer service but havent heard back yet.

I was unhappy with my hair dye so contacted them to rectify this further to their satisfaction guarantee. I have now contacted them twice and received no response. Do not buy

Surprise shipping fee makes it too costly

I like the hair colour and the ease of it being sent every 6 weeks. However, the price for the plan excludes £5.95 for shipping which changes the price drastically. I would not have signed up had I known I would be paying £27.95 instead of the £22 advertised. It's a lot for at home root top up

It was ok

It was ok. The first color wasn't right and they changed it for me. I just think it's really expensive for a box dye and it's not much more to go to a salon .

Just do it! Far superior to salons

I have been with Esalon for over 5 years consistently- went back to salons in between and was always disappointed ! All the Esalon colourists listen to what you want taking into consideration current colour and desired colour. I have changed colours a few times and tones a LOT eg please can you make it less brassy, can you put a touch more red in. And I have honestly never been disappointed. Some people say oh it's expensive compared to a box dye but less than £30 every 4 weeks to get compliments ok my natural looking colour is absolutely worth it. As a side note I am 51 needing grey coverage and the quality is just superb.

wrong colour, inadequate response

I was sent a colour that turned my hair black (I have naturally mid brown hair) it was far too harsh. I emailed the colourist and was advised to purchase a colour removal treatment which I had to use twice in order to lift the colour (I bought these from a local chemist). I was then contacted by e salon offering a free colour and asking what colour I wanted to try. I explained that I was nervous about colouring it again, I wasn't sure what colour to go for and how it might affect the lightened hair. I was then sent a 'guesstimate' colour through the post without my confirmation or involvement in the colour. I didn't use it because I was worried it would turn my hair too dark and damage my hair. A few weeks went by, during which time I was in hospital having surgery, and then I received ANOTHER colour in the post, exactly the same as the previous mix which I had not asked for or confirmed. So now I have two boxes of colour that I can't use and have wasted money that I could have spent on having it fixed.

The system works fine if you are happy with your colour and you are on the ball with managing your subscription. If you have any trouble with either of those things - I was deeply unhappy with my colour and the e salon emails continue to go into spam despite me trying to make sure they come to my inbox - then it's a complete waste of money.

I emailed e salon directly about my experience and they did not acknowledge my email or respond. I have cancelled my subscription and won't use again.

Good product, ok service, but not what I expected

I have been struggling to figure out what score to give to this review. Yes the product is great. It left my hair shiny and healthy but the biggest issue is that it made my hair darker and I never wanted my hair to go darker. So now my very long virgin hair has been messed up because either I have to use a colour remover, wait for it to wash out or get highlights The original solutions given by the colorist were not great to be honest and also when I asked a direct question of what type of colour was I supposed to be getting I never got a real reply. It has still not explained to me why my hair ended up being so much darker when theoretically I went for a colour that it’s lighter than my natural hair colour so maybe if you want to darken your hair this is a great product. If you wanna go lighter, I will have my reservations. Something went wrong and I still cannot figure out where it went wrong. Would I try it again? Probably not. Do I regret it? Not really? I only paid £12 but if I had paid a lot more I would definitely have asked for some sort of compensation so I can get my hair professionally fixed but I only paid £12 it’s not worth it.
