No reaction when they own you money back
I canceled my stay more than 6 months ago and have already emailed several times to request a refund of my deposit. The owner of the room does not have this amount, and this amount would still be with you. He gives his approval to pay this back, but since his approval I have not received any response from you. Very unfortunate and unprofessional! When I wanted to select a room I had to answer immediately or I lost the room, but when it comes to refund I get no response. Here's another attempt to get my advance back... Or at least an answer
Gigantic additional costs
We are disappointed because when we have reserved, the details of the paiement weren't clear enough : we paid 200€ of fees to Erasmusu, but about 1000€ to the owner of the room justified by : "delivery of keys and administrative management of contracts".
So it's about 1200€ of additional fees just to manage contracts.
Furthemore, we do not have access to the conditions for canceling the contract.

Easy to book, too easy?
Very easy to book, with good information. Not a fan of having to book and if owner says yes you are in the contract already. I would like the possibility to talk to the owner first.
Erasmus Accommodation Hell!
I wanted to rent a apartment for my uni year abroad so I used ErasmusU's Service, thinking everything there would be suitable for a international student. When I got to the flat-share that I booked, it was absolutely disgusting, there was literally poo on the bathroom walls. The whole place made me want to get sick. The landlord refused to acknowledge that the flat was minging. Whats more, the bed room window was broken and there were no locks on the doors!... oh and he wanted me to pay a huge safety deposit not mentioned on the website. This was of course not mentioned in the advertisement. I contacted Erasmusu/SpotAHome with a couple of hours, and sent them photographs of the apartment. Over the next couple of days, they responded that an unclean apartment (even poo and mould) was not a good enough reason for cancelling a booking! They said they would refund me only part of the pre-paid rent and keep all of their 150 euro fee. Obviously I had to go and find a hotel at last minute after already traveling 9 hours that day.
I spent the week trying to find new accomodation at super short notice. Literally the worst week of my life. I had to catch a flight at the end of week, and I was so stressed and exhausted, that even though I arrived at the airport 3 hours early, I missed my flight, and had to buy a last minute flight with a 7 hour lay-over in Paris.
While it seems weird to mention about the flight in this review, my point is if you want to keep any last drop of sanity, DO NOT USE ERASMUSU or its affiliate SpotAHome.
Im still so annoyed that they took the booking money, when they did nothing but deceive me - fummming, im still fummming at them - greedy little buggers.
They only ever offered me a coupon code in lew of my booking fee. Imagine! like I'd want to willingly defraud myself!
And, I imagine I'll get a little empty response from them here, but my answer is: say you'll refund me all the money you took from me. Then we can talk.

Very happy with the service
For me the service with Erasmusu was a 10. I haven’t arrived to my appartment yet but they help me a lot with the booking. At first I was reclined for a bedroom and they gave me other options with similar caracteristics. At the end I was accepted in another one and had a problem with the payment and they help me solve it, for me 5 stars.

Overall pleasant experience, but there is room for improvement.
Overall, I would say my experience with the website and Erasmusu has been pleasant. Eventhough, I managed to find a place to stay, which I am grateful for, I did find difficultly dealing with Spot A Home and the landlord. It seems as though they act as separate entities completely. This meant I had to act as liason. I believe Spot A Home has a policy in which they cannot speak to a landlord directly in some cases. I do not know the policy exactly. But, it did feel frustrating at times. Perhaps if Erasmusu, had a sort of chatting platform on the website, where all three parties can talk together at once. This would protect all parties and prevent confusion.This is just a suggestion. I imagine it is difficult to offer such a service where so many are involved. In any case, I am happy with the room, the landlord, and the help I received from Spot A Home.

Total scam
Terrible experience. This is a company that preys on vulnerable students searching for accommodation abroad. I tried to reserve an apartment and 1,000 euros were taken out of my account without my consent without any confirmation from the landlord! The online customer service experience has been dreadful and I am working on collecting testimonials from other scam victims so we can bring some legal action against them.
