The car was ok and that was the only thing good about this experience. So many hidden costs and because it is run through a third party Gurin, there are so many more costs than you were led to believe... See more

SCAMMERS!
PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING WITH THESE MODERN DAY THIEVES!
I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at Geneva Airport. We were wrongly charged for vehicle damages that were already present when we picked up the car on 8th March 2026. Despite us providing clear, timestamped video with metadata and photographic evidence proving the damage existed prior to our rental, the company has completely ignored our dispute and simply taken a large amount of money (£730) without any communication or reply and it's now been over three weeks. Zero.
Their own checkout report was poorly documented with no supporting photos, yet they are holding us liable for pre-existing issues.
I beg you, avoid this company at all costs or consider walking. Their customer service is non-existent and their billing practices are completely unjust.
Not a family friendly company.

Very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car Dublin Airport branch and the Damage Recovery Unit.
Reservation Number: 1495003068/Rental Agreement Number: 2KF3DZ/Claim Number: 79860574
I booked my vehicle directly through the Enterprise website. Damage Waiver was already included in my booking and I additionally paid in advance for Excess Protection and Roadside Protection. My reservation confirmation clearly shows these protections and confirms that payment was already taken.
During the rental there was a minor incident which caused a small scratch on the vehicle. I accepted responsibility for this at the return counter in the Dublin Airport branch. Initially the system showed an excess of €2700, but after I presented my reservation confirmation, the staff checked again and confirmed that I had purchased Excess Protection and that my applicable excess was €250. I paid €250 and received a final invoice showing a zero balance.
Nearly one month later I was unexpectedly asked to pay an additional €2450, with the explanation that no excess reduction had been purchased. I provided my reservation confirmation and proof of payment multiple times, but was still told the system does not show the protection.
This is very difficult to understand. If Excess Protection had not been purchased, why was I only charged €250 at the time of return instead of €2700?
It is extremely concerning that protection was paid for in advance, confirmed by staff at the Dublin Airport branch, and applied at the time of return, yet is now being treated as if it never existed.
This situation appears to be caused by a mismatch between the reservation system, the branch system and the damage recovery team records. It has caused unnecessary stress and confusion.
I hope Enterprise Rent-A-Car can investigate this case properly and clarify what the Excess Protection payment covered.
I am still waiting for this issue to be resolved.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car - debit card
We rented a car in Dublin, Ireland, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. While other rental companies accept both debit and credit cards from non-Irish customers, Enterprise only accepts credit cards.
The staff were quite unhelpful and made no effort to resolve the issue. Their only response was, “It’s our policy,” without offering any alternatives or assistance.
We then went next door to Budget Car Rental, where everything went smoothly. Not only were they more accommodating, but we also received a better car for the same price compared to Enterprise.
Additionally, if you try contacting Enterprise by email, don’t expect a reply—it feels like sending messages into a black hole, as no one responds.
Worst rental company ever.
Oh, WHERE do I start?
Picked the car up, it had UNDER a QUARTER tank of gas, causing me to IMMEDIATELY have to blow OVER $60 to fill up to get home.
I got ONE day of coverage, and they failed to explain I HAD to GO IN IN PERSON to cancel the coverage. And our ONLY LOCATION in town is apparently OUT OF BUSINESS (hopefully the rest follow suit soon. Predatory company) so im being FORCED to pay for over a WEEK of coverage and I CANNOT drop the car off here now FORCING me to spend ANOTHER $60+ to return it to "the nearest location"...OVER TWO HOURS AWAY!
-500/10,000 STARS BEING GENEROUS.
This company needs to fix...everything. Or it needs to just end. Preferably the latter. 1st time ever using, LAST time ever using. I will WALK OR HITCHHIKE the 100+ miles. Fk these people.
3/31/2026-4/10/2026. Nothing but issues, none resolved. Will update if anything is done correctly.
My sister and I returned a rental car…
My sister and I returned a rental car to Enterprise on March 30th and was due a refund of $423. Today is April 7th and I’m still awaiting my refund. While I’ve reached out several times to Enterprise, what we were told is that it has been escalated to the billing team. This is unprofessional!
If i could give a zero stars
If i could give a zero stars, I would.
Yes, I acknowledge that I used tolls in N Dallas, & they totaled 72 bucks however, enterprise assessed a twenty five dollar convenience fee. That is just a straight up money grab! There should be no convenience fee from rental company because the convenience fee is built in the cost of the 72.00.
I can't stand when companies just blatantly take your money.
I promise you the next time, I need a rental car, it will not be from enterprise.I don't give a good dot damn what my insurance company says.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is an organization that does not prioritize its internal customers.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is an organization that does not prioritize its internal customers.
When a global conglomerate neglects its employees, what can be anticipated from its external customers? Other than subpar products and inadequate customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, the values of its founder have become obsolete. It is a company driven by greed, as evidenced by their practice of overbooking vehicles, which complicates the process for customers to receive what they have paid for and places additional strain on the workforce in fulfilling customer commitments.

If anyone has hired a Renault Austral reg- HD 82 1 ZP from Bergerac Airport in France, from 10/11/2025 and they have put wheel arch damages on you, the its a false damage claim.
I hired this car 6th March 2026, there was damage but I photographed it. (Luckily) took the car for a week, everything is fine. Returned the car.. suprise, surprise, they weren't there. "Put the key in the collection box" ok, I said. 1 hour 30 mins later I received an email, a damage report. So I immediately sent them my pictures with the time stamp asking them to check.
They avoided it, and continued with the false damage report. They then deducted over 2000€ from my account, even though there was a dispute. They have strung this out for 3 weeks now, but their error??? They sent me a picture of said damage with their time stamp....10/11/2025.
Please please do not use this company, many reviews are the same, im not having a bad day, its just completely unfair what they are doing to people. I imagine the car has been paid off by all the damage claims they have done to the public.
Warm Greetings
From beginning to end my experiences with Enterprise customer service has been excellent for several years. I am a bit old school and need guidance with how all the "bells and whistles" work, but the staff always graciously walk me through it! For that reason, I consistently have utilized this Lakewood location. There was not a wait time to get my vehicle or return it which I really appreciated. I was warmly greeted by Preston Lee today. There was a mix-up with the type of vehicle I reserved and the actual rental, the Assistant Branch Manager, Marcos Borja offered a price adjustment that more made up for my inconvenience.
Paid over €300, employee refused car, then physically assaulted when I complained
I recently booked a car online with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the Netherlands and paid over €300 with my virtual VISA card. Payment was accepted, confirmation received - no issues.
Arrived for pickup right on time. Staff refused the car, saying they only accept "physical credit cards" - no virtual ones, no debit cards. This requirement was buried in the confirmation email fine print and was never disclosed during the online booking process where I entered my payment. If virtual VISA cards aren't acceptable, why did the system accept my payment without warning?
The employee refused to refund my money. I offered multiple solutions - my virtual credit card, cash deposit, other security. All refused. No flexibility, no customer service.
Then it got worse.
When I asked for the employee's name to file a complaint:
- He refused to give his name
- Became aggressive when I tried to take a photo
- Tried to grab my phone from my hands
- Repeatedly tried to lash out at me, another employee had to intervene and restrain him
- Locked the door so I couldn't leave
- I was trapped inside with three male employees
- Had to call police while imprisoned
Police came but only took a report. I was forced to delete my evidence before being allowed to leave.
What I lost:
- Over €300
- Hotel booking (trip cancelled)
- My safety after being physically threatened
If this happens to you in the Netherlands:
- File a complaint with ACM (Dutch consumer protection)
- Try to dispute the charge with your bank
- Document everything and consider small claims court
- File a police report if you're threatened
Do not rent from Enterprise Amsterdam. Your money and safety are not worth the risk.
Enterprise Rent A Car
I rented a car from Enterprise Rent A Car (Enterprise). The hire was a one-way rental from London Heathrow Airport to East Dereham, Norfolk. Upon returning the vehicle, they discovered minor damage to the driver’s rear wing. This damage was only visible from a specific angle and was difficult to discern in photographs, even after being pointed out.Despite the damage being minor, Enterprise immediately deducted the full £1,750 excess from my credit card.
Enterprise then did not provide their invoice for two months, which included not only the cost of repairs but four days loss of hire and an admin fee. I would not recommend or use Enterprise again despite their excellent service at Heathrow.
BEWARE - Enterprise re-charged my credit card 6 months after I rented
I rented a car for a trip. After stop, I returned to my rental and saw it was dinged. I had to pay damages (the cost seemed excessive, but . . . ). this was late 2025. 6 months later, I was billed again. I called multiple times and no one can tell me why Enterprise still has my credit card number, who and why Enterprise charged me again, or when I will get my full refund (I received a 25% refund). And if you raise your voice because they have your credit card number and charge you erroneously (which they admit) they make you call back.
Enterprise saved the day for me!
I needed to rent a one way ride from Ann Arbor to Wooster Ohio to pick up a vehicle I purchased there but there were absolutely NO rentals available in my area with any rental place because of flights at Detroit Metro being cancelled due to the high winds we were had the day prior so EVERY company was OUT of one way vehicles. After an hour and a half on the phone to different places, I decided to look in Toledo for an available car and found one at the W. Alexis Road location but I needed to UBER there (50 min ride) on St. Patty's day ($$) and after a series of set backs that started early in the morning, I finally made it to the W. Alexis Rd location to get my car. I was greeted by Nate who was so easy going and got me situated with my car quickly as I was pressed for time. In my haste to leave my home, I forgot my phone charger and the UBER driver didn't have the right type so I was on 18% and asked if they had chargers for sale. They did not but Jacob another guy there, offered me his personal charger but unfortunately it was the wrong type. A few minutes later, he appears with a bag of brand new USBC chargers and gave me one. I asked how much and he said not to worry about it. This entire day was filled with set back after set back from traffic jams, cashing a big dollar check for my purchase, trying to find a one way rental, an uber driver that took back roads and not the freeway, missing my exit due to bad GPS directions, a snow storm after dropping off the rental where accidents prevented me from getting off at the exit I needed to use so a big detour, and driving 25-30 mph for an hour...all started from the moment I woke up to even after having left the Enterprise Store BUT, the experience I had at the W. Alexis Rd location was the easiest and most heartwarming part of my entire day. On returning the rental in Wooster Ohio, I was so pressed for time due to the constant delays and being in an area of unfamiliarity with some GPS issues, I called my sister asking her to phone the Wooster Enterprise location to let them know I was about 5 minutes out past closing and if they could wait for me. They said they were still there finishing up some things and it was no problem. I arrived, went inside expecting to fill out paperwork but he just took the key and said I was all set and he would let the Toledo Store know it was returned. The amount of relief I felt roll off my shoulders knowing the car was returned and I was all set after the stress of the day was so huge. The ease and kindness that I experienced from Enterprise was the brightest moments of my day and I wanted to make sure to give a shout out to both Nate and Jacob for their great customer service and going above and beyond to help make my day more smooth. I forgot to mention that Nate plugged the charger into the car for me and even helped to program my location I was headed to into my maps on my phone as my haste and non-tech savvyness was causing me confusion and he just made it happen. Thank you to both of these fine gentlemen and the one on the receiving end in Wooster whose name I did not catch. They were all amazing and I will definitely be using Enterprise again!
Disappointed
I was told gas tank was full and I needed to return it full. I traveled only 41 miles, but when I filled it up, It cost me $23. I told clerk at return and showed picture I took when first entering vehicle at pick up and he gave me $10 credit. I told him I didnt think that was right, He assured me it was good, but it was not. Also, I reserved a compact car and all they had was a Silverado. Too big for a 4'11" lady.
I rent vehicles very often and this…company does not stand behind there word. Caution
I rent vehicles very often and this trip I was traveling out of Birmingham Al. Landed at airport and went to enterprise I had to wait 45 minutes to get a vehicle. I drove vehicle for the week returned it and the attendant asked if everything was good I said yes except the 45 minute wait. She how can we make it to you i said maybe a couple free rentals days she replied how about 4 i said that was great. I received an email stating that they would be put on my account. I did not receive anything i followed up 5 people where ccd on email so it wasn't going to just one person. No response. Very disappointed based on how often i rent vehicles. Do what you say, be honest , stand behind your word that doesn't appear to be happening with Enterprise. I highly recommend you review all other rental companies first. I guess how many overall stars they have says it all.
Absolutely abhorrent bussiness practices
What a bad company this is. We rented a Hyundai Elentra from this company. When we got there the man that would be helping us already opened the shop to late.
We inspected the car. It had quite a number of dings and I have no idea what happened to the rear windshield but I am pretty sure the bubble texture of the tinted foil that was on there wouldnt go through a safety inspection. He said the car was clean (which it wasn't we had to through out some stuff when we started driving) finally concluded that the fuel tank wasn't full. He made a photo and said I needed to bring it back with the same gas level. I think you already know how this is going to go...
I signed which I should have never done. I just wanted to have a nice drive with my partner.
When we were on the way back I pulled into a gas station, and then I thought how am I even supposed to get it back on the same level as that I took it?
We ended up putting it full because I couldn't ask the attended that was helping us to stop pumping every 5 liters.
I brought the car back and when I told them I wanted compensation for the extra fuel they laughed at me in my face. Saying I did not know how many liters I tanked extra and offering to figure that out together was met with a firm no.
It tells me that they also had no idea how much was in that car and already knew they would get it back with a full tank.
I will never rent a car here again, and I will absolutely advice anyone against it.
Accident and needed a car
I was recently in an accident and my insurance included a rental car from Enterprise, Fairfield, CA. I spent 20 minutes on hold and several times they picked up then put me back on hold again and again. I won't be getting a car from Enterprise. You need to upgrade your service or get responsible employees. And saying your busy is'nt an excuse.
Unusually Bad Experience
Usually, Enterprise have been really good, but this time has completely missed the mark.
I have rented from them so much, I had enough points to pay for one of my rental days.
I wanted to pay by debit, checked the rental policy and it said I can as long as I provide 2 utility bills, some other items, etc.
I went in prepped. I got to the counter. I said I'd like to pay by debit. The guy, who until this point was friendly turned serious and said NO YOU CAN'T. Immediately dismissive. I said what do you mean I can't, I read the rental policy. He backtracked. He made a joke about how prepared I was.
He then proceeded to ask me if I'd ever rented from them before.... with my account on his screen, alongside 3 references and phone numbers, my job title, my company, my direct supervisor, whether I own a car. A little overkill but sure, debit must be scary.
I paid the fee then got shown to our car. It was a "you pay we choose" scenario. Firstly they tried to upsell another car for an extra $30 a day. I said no. They said "how much WOULD you pay for this upgrade". I declined, but what is that? Either the car costs an amount or you're overcharging people.
Then I got absolutely hounded about the different ranges of protection and the many awful, tragic things that could go wrong should I not take at least one of these add-ons. I'm aware of the risk of renting a car. Telling me I can't pay for debit when I can, trying to barter an upgrade, and then being in my face talking about serious financial loss. Just an overall unpleasant experience.
Before I left they said "we'll probably give you a call tomorrow to see how you are getting on". Of course, check in on your car. They never called.
It's so disappointing because I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with Enterprise in the past. I will not use them again.
