Thank you for getting in contact with us both here and by email. I fully understand how frustrating repeated cancellations can be.

As I explained to you in our reply, the forecast was carefully reviewed by the pilot at midday the day before the flight and at the time of assessment it indicated low cloud until late morning along with thunderstorms forecast for later in the afternoon. These factors, combined with local conditions, made the flights unsuitable to operate safely and comfortably as a sightseeing experience.

It’s also important to note that forecasts can and do change. Our decisions are made based on the most accurate information available at the time, and we have to take a cautious approach rather than relying on how conditions may appear later or on simplified weather summaries.

In addition, many of our passengers travel significant distances to fly with us, so we cannot leave cancellation decisions until the day of the flight where possible. Providing as much notice as we can helps avoid unnecessary travel and disruption for our customers.

While our helicopters can and do operate in a range of conditions, our sightseeing flights are conducted under more conservative limits to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Factors such as cloud base, visibility, and the risk of convective weather (such as thunderstorms) are key considerations - not just headline wind speed.

All decisions to cancel are made with safety as the absolute priority and are not taken lightly.

We remain committed to honouring all our customers booking and are always happy to reschedule our customers onto the next suitable date as per our terms and conditions.

We are sorry that on this occasion you feel that we have fallen short of your expectations but I understand we have now resolved this matter for you.
