I think I am qualified to write this…

I think I am qualified to write this now more than ever!

We got the electriQ 18 inch Black High Velocity Floor Fan in 2021 because our house is just too warm. This mf thing has run almost non stop since July of the same year and kept the bedroom cool!

Buy this fan and it is worth every penny! It has only now died so if you are not using it every single day non stop then it should last until your grandchildren have grandchildren. This could outlive a cockroach!

I bought an Electriq tumble dryer and…i thought it was catching on fire

I bought an Electriq tumble dryer and it was ok for a few months however one day we could smell something getting really hot with a burning smell. I turned it off immediately and it was too hot to touch the back. They sent an engineer out and he pulled out handfuls of fluff built on the inside of the appliance including around the heating element. This had smouldered through heat and looked ready to catch fire if we had left it to run. But he cleaned it all out and said it was a design fault because of the gap around the drum and that all I could do would be to strip it down and clean regularly. This consisted of basically taking it to bits monthly to clean properly. Obviously that’s not an option and there is no mention of this in the instructions. So we had no choice but to continue using it after the first engineer had hoovered it out. About three weeks later while it was running we smelled smoke and when I went to it thickgrey smoke was coming out of the back. I immediately turned it off and had to open all the windows. I haven’t used it since and won’t be. I live in a flat with very strict fire rules and dread to think what will happen if it catches fire. The second engineer has just gone and he said there isn’t much built up fluff, I said because it’s only been three weeks since the last one hoovered it out but he got a bucket full out. I asked what the smoke could be from and if he thought it would have caught fire but I didn’t get a straight answer, he will send off a report. I doubt it will be replaced. My concern is if it is a design fault which it must be shouldn’t people be warned and the product recalled and replaced. I suppose I will just have to buy another one from a different company which is disappointing because this one is only just over a year old and out of guarantee. Wouldn’t recommend this one to anyone because in my opinion it’s very dangerous. I m still hoping to hear from them and hopefully have it replaced but I can’t see that happening. But I will let you know what comes of it

I have recently purchased a 60mm oven…

I have recently purchased a 60mm oven and it converted to log. The hob is fine but the oven temperature is very high eg. I will set oven to 180 c but both of my oven thermometers show 250c

Faulty electriQ 6kg 1200rpm Top…

Ordered electriQ 6kg 1200rpm Top Loading Washing Machine. On trying for first time faulty, wouldn't go through programme, stopped part way through. Replaced with new device, exactly the same issue, even on 15 min quick wash - advised to use before using to wash clothes, stops at 2 mins to go & didn't complete programme. Returned for a refund as clear manufacturing fault with both machines.

Purchased on March 16 2026 electriQ…

Purchased on March 16 2026 electriQ 12WMINV-V5 and conducted home installation. The unit works in cooling mode, it working in fan mode, and when operating in heating mode, after the start up period the indoor fan starts to run at a low speed for 30 seconds and then stops. The vent remains open and the display still shows the set temperature with no error codes. We sent photos as requested and answered all their requirements they the suggested we pay £350 for an engineer to check the installation but did not commit to repair or replace the unit. They said it would be at best a visit after two weeks after cleared payment and could be much longer as they were busy!
TOLD PAY £350 WAIT TILL WE TELL YOU WHEN THE ENGINEER IS AVAILABLE NO OTHER CHOICE! SENT EMAIL TO PAY £350 BUT IT ALSO INCLUDED THE UNIT SO INVOICE FOR OVER £1000!!!!

So paid the £350 and told in less than three days you will have an engineer appointment. GUESS WHAT PAID AND NOTHING NO FEEDBACK NO CONTACT NO ENGINEER BOOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unending replacements until end of warranty

29.10.2024 I bought Electriq CD20PRO-LE-V3 dehumidifier trough Buyitdirect eBay auction. 21.05.2025 dehumidifier broke down (PCB board went haywire, all lights started blinking) and I sent it back. Since Buyitdirect didn`t had my model in stock anymore, I had to pay additional 30£ for an updated V4 device.

Replacement came shortly afterwards, but 7.07.2025 it broke again - this time dehumidifier wouldn`t stop working when tank was full. Electriq agent asked me to check the state of tank sensor, but I couldn`t find it anywhere, so I sent some photos of where sensor should be - they immediately confirmed replacement. So, I sent it back. They didn`t had my exact model, so I received an Electriq dehumidifier that was 70£ cheaper - but no refund, of course. Replacement itself took about a month, from first complaint to delivery.

But 4.02.2026 it broke again, this time with loud "bang" - propably shorted electronics. So I sent it back, as before. As during that time I moved to a new flat, I informed them about my new address - just to be ignored, so I had to remind them about that again. And yet, parcel from Buyitdirect was sent to my old address.

I had to contact Buyitdirect directly to amend that. Initially I`ve been informed that they can send a replacement only to the original address my purchase was made from. Only by directly contacting Buyitdirect head of complaints I was able to redirect my replacement to my new address. At this point I was also informed that potential refund would be subject to 35% usage deduction and only at retailer`s discretion.

I received my replacement 22.02.2026. And it would be great, if not for the fact that device (this time newest V5 model without additional charge) wasn`t working correctly since the day one. Humidity readings were incorrect: dehumidifier was constantly showing error "LO" (low humidity) or humidity 25%, even after hot shower. Meanwhile, different dehumidifier (also Electriq, but V2) was showing 75% and was collecting water. So, I sent my dehumidifier back.

I received replacement 5.03.2026 - and it had the same exact problem, plus it had problems turning on (red light, error, switching off) and humidity display kept changing to random valuses. Agent asked me to change the fuse in dehumidifier - a brand new device straight from the shelf... I didn`t. So I sent it back. At this point I was completely out of days off work due to constant courier visits.

I received my next replacement 16.03.2026. And... same exact problem as before. So I requested another replacement. Agent confirmed that courier will pick up defective unit and deliver a new one in one go, and all of that in Friday. Funny enough, I also received an email from DPD that courier will be with me next Wednesday.
So, I requested clarification from Electriq - agent apologised and once again confirmed that delivery will be adjusted and DPD will send me a confirmation.

And yet, there was no courier, no email, no contact whatsoever. When asked about this Electriq agent said that my device is out of warrany and they cancelled replacement. Without informing me, apparently.

To sum it up: six replacements. Three last times Electriq failed to deliver a working replacement, but it took long enough for my warranty to expire; at the end I was left with faulty dehumidifier.

I`ll have no choice but to contact Citizens Advice and check if they are legally allowed to fail with replacing faulty unit and then claim expired warranty.

The only good thing I`ve experienced was a rather quick replacement process (with one exception), with no unnecessary fuss. Unfortunately it does not change the fact that the very product was not working as intended.

Still, I`m pretty convinced that either somebody there is sending broken units as replacements or a whole batch of CD20PRO-LE-V5 dehumidifiers has faulty humidity sensors.

I used to recommend Electriq to my friends - but definitely no more. It looks like they became one of those small companies that at the beginning really invested in quality, made some decent products, gained some reputation and then decided to scrap quality assurance departament in order to maximize profit.

Disappointing.

Cheap and cheerful unreliable…

Cheap and cheerful unreliable dehumidifiers with a short lifespan.
After sales support is inadequate, where if you aren't purchasing FROM them direct seems non existent after warranty and even then no real effort is made to be helpful
Simple email requests for repair of an out of warranty dehumidifier went round in circles and no offer made to repair the failed machine, no advice on potential fault of it completely freezing up and NOT defrosting to release stored humidity collection and only a suggestion to take it to a recognised repairer.
They admit they have NO recognised repairers of this cheap tat and are not able to recommend anyone in England who can.
All in all the equipment is sub standard with little or no support available
Just buy from a known manufacturer who can provide a real service and proper support

Customer service is awful

Customer service is awful. I needed a small part for the door of my tumble dryer, the dryer was only a couple of years old (out of guarantee). They were unable to supply this part or any information to help find the part i.e. the part number, just told me to look online which I did but couldn’t find anything. Another large appliance going into landfill for the sake of a small part that should of only cost between £5 and £10. Discussing.

Dehumidifier leaks

Bought a dehumidifier a year or so ago and although it seems to work ok in that it removes moisture from the air, I have to keep it on a tray to catch leaks. When it's nearly full, the water slops out if I move the dehumidifier around, and when I empty the plastic container it keeps dripping even when the machine is switched off.

Edit 16.03.26. Following ElectriQ's response, I provided them with the requested information but heard nothing back.

Terrible Experience with Smart Radiator

Terrible experience. The radiator manual does not have any info on how to pair it with a mobile phone. We had to contact our broadband provider who tried to help but spotted this fact. The call centre staff were hopeless and didn't ring us back when they said they would. Furthermore, the radiator is advertised as being Bluetooth enabled etc etc but it doesn't point out that it's not compatible with modern, up to date, WiFi 6. It works as in heat but it doesn't link to the WiFi. It's practically obsolete. What on earth are these people doing?
I submit the order number to see if the company has the necessary initiative to intervene (56128180) but somehow I don't think they are capable. Avoid.

Not happy

Got a electriq cooker 60 cm can't turn hobs down won't simmer hob burners don't sit in middle of pan rest of set shelvs in oven very small should of had pan storing but didn't o en takes ages to light and went out halfway through cooking my pie all in all bad products had it all over.a month so couldn't return for better one engineer was to phone 24 hrs hasn't yet not happy had some good things over years but this was a mistake BOUGHT IN JUNE INSTALLED JANUARY DUE TO KITCHEN MAKEOVER
