Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company, they send me bills wrongly for 1 year, hiding fees during all that time; then they email me a £2,670 bill to be paid in 14 days… they are not serious.

Today I called edf because there was a problem with the automated system. I am 76 and suffer from severe anxiety,I was fortunate to be conected to a very compassionate, polite and understanding lady who told me she understood and took my payment, she then apologised twice. This service gives the customer confidence and is the gold standard deserves 5 stars plus.

Booked smart meter fitting without consultation. Saying we'll be charged £30 if don't notify them on a phone number. We will not be there but why should we have to call them and spend time sorting?

Very helpful and fast help given !

My meter suddenly stopped working and had a call help message flashing . Called edf at 9.30am , spoke to a lovely lady who was incredibly helpful and she arranged for an emergency engineer . I anticipated a long wait however , the engineer had been to my home and fixed the problem all before 10.30am the same morning !

Inconsiderate Supplier

I was given a fixed amount for my direct debit when I joined to supply my home which I never defaulted for once for 2 years, but they keep increasing the bill almost all the time but I kept paying. I changed to another supplier when they planned to increase it again. I called to pay outstanding bill in instalment and there was an agreement with direct debit set up. I was surprised to see that they've reported that I defaulted with CRA when they had not even started the direct debit. They spoilt my credit score that I've built for the past five years. They're inhuman, selfish and inconsiderate.

Open a ticket for a year. No resolution.

Had a ticket with them to come out and fix my smart meter. One year later they've still not done it. Moved to a different supplier now because what's the point. Not like they're the cheapest on the market either.

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. Spent a year lying to me about a non functioning smart meter and trying to charge me estimated bills at 3000% of actual consumption . I am currently waiting for customer services to answer the phone to arrange a direct debit . 47 minutes so far . Apparently my call is important and the call will be answered shortly . Incompetent beyond belief .

SCAMMERS

I’ve been a loyal EDF customer for 2 years. They have been calling me non stop harassing me for months beginning me to install a smart meter, I finally got sick of their harassment and caved in and let them install a smart meter. The same week they told me I owe them over £300 in unpaid charges. I researched how much I paid per kwh and found that Octopus energy is more than 15% cheaper so I switched. I told the company I wish to file a complaint in which they ignored my request 3 times. They said we can dispute this matter with the energy ombudsman, then the next week they started sending threating emails saying they were going to take me to court if I don’t pay instantly. They said they will send me a form and escalate my dispute, they said they will log my complaint and send me a letter about it but they are pathological liars. Just look at their reviews online and see how many people they’ve scammed like this. Check octopus energy reviews theyre so much cheaper and better EDF are filthy scammers who will charge yoy too much money snd harass you to install a meter so they can scam you for more money. Switch now!

Shoddy Customer Service…

Thinking to upgrade my existing Solar System as a customer of EDF I decided to get in touch with a Solar provider called Contact Solar as recommended by them, this company Contact Solar on my initial enquiry were to give me a price of £4000 being about average for the service I required having had other quotes for this same work, this was all to change when a salesman was to get hold of me to then say, customers in Scotland are charged £1500 extra for this service and the overall cost to me would be £5.500.

When EDF customer service was contacted by me to make a compliant about this company which they endorse? they just fobbed me off and did not want to know about it.

Avoid

Terrible customer service, wicked billing strategies based on computer generated estimates DESPITE having consecutive actual readings showing very low consumption. Bills still came based on estimates followed soon after by threatening letters.
When challenged a "team leader" said that their computer estimates based on an annual consumption as if that resolved the issue.

THEY DON'T DESERVE YOUR CUSTOM!! Use them at your peril

wheres the negative star rating? shocking customer service, no notes taken so have to explain whole situation to diff person each time, they give you deadlines and never get back to you, every call they tell me something different, send me on wild goose chase with wrong info, have to wait on tel lines each time. NO COMMS, waiting for 6 MONTHS and still not got engineer appt...how do they run a company??? they're lucky i'm not a witch because i would hex them to bankruptcy if i could. They've wasted so much of my time and cost me dearly financially & no apology. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemies. THEY DON'T DESERVE YOUR CUSTOM!! Save yourself & go somewhere else there's plenty of choice!

I have moved out of the flat and EDF…

I have moved out of the flat and EDF keep charging me 64 GBP per month for literally an empty flat in summer with just a fridge running. Their excuse - “oh you are on this special tariff that charges you a lot”. Well, thanks I guess … decided not to argue and switch to Octopus. Best decision in my life. If you see EDF - run…if I could give them minus stars, I would!

Abysmal in so many ways

Like so many other people, the customer 'service' was abysmal - being repeatedly asked for information already supplied, no action being taken, lack of empathy. Engineers who arrived (to fix the problem that didn't exist until EDF took over supply) routinely complained about how they are tasked by EDF - and none of them sorted out the issue.

You couldn't Write it, but I will

I left EDF in October 24.
After huge hassle I eventually got to leave by paying another £60 as they have messed up my meter readings.
To their credit in Dec they out of the blue apologised as they hadn't closed my account so gave me £60.
Yesterday 27th August I received a statement saying £127 in credit. In Feb someone had realised the money I paid to leave was incorrect and credited my old account.
25 mins on hold I have now got a further refund 10 months after leaving.
I know the decision to leave was correct, EDF are hopeless.
Im with Octopus, amazing app. It works, call centre in minutes and not one problem.
Moral of the story, just leave and don't touch EDF.

DISGUSTED! Absolutely disgusted!

DISGUSTED! Absolutely disgusted!

Long story short, moved into a new home, I found a cheap energy supplier but their customer service was shocking, so I called EDF and was amazed by them. They answered so fast every time I called, had a lot of patience with my questions and albeit they were more expensive, decided to go with them due to this. I even did 2 fantastic reviews for them....

THE SECOND I WAS IN A CONTRACT WITH THEM...

Not a single answer to the number provided, waiting for 57 minutes before I hung up. This has happened every single time.
I tried the NEW SALES TEAM and not surprised how they answered straight away. It's funny how they do that when they want your business, but the second they have it, don't give a s**t.

They've also charged me and debited my account to almost £200, when we haven't even moved in yet!!! So WTH?!

Absolutely awful customer service.

Absolutely awful customer service.
Try and call them about the unnecssary letters they send you and they keep you waiting and waiting and waiting to talk to a person. The automated service is not much use in these circumstances either.
Go elsewhere if I were you.
