Things keep going from bad to worse.
Things keep going from bad to worse. Since the horror show of the migration my clients have had constant issue with email. Unable to connect to the mail server on and off.. I raise a ticket and get all the unhelpful "have you tried using the right password" .. then the issue normally resolves. I've noticed in brevo that emails sent to their mail.enmail.co often get deferred.. which I've never seen before... so I'm assuming they have ongoing resource problems. I would move everyone away but after weeks of disruption I just don't have the time or energy. They send no apology, no help. Looks like they're trying to smother over all the bad reviews by getting some new ones..
Moved back to 20i
Eco Web Hosting have moved from the very good infrastructure at 20i to the absolute cheapest colo and free control panel you can imagine. On top of that my site and email were down with no notice. This company is on fire, will they even be here in a month the way they treat their customers?
All the things that made this great hosting seem to have been 20i only hosting features, I have moved back to 20i and the support team there are fast and responsive.
So much faster!
Similar to other reviews here, I had a slightly rocky period during the migration over to the new hosting platform. However, I discussed this with the support team, who provided me some reassurance and since my websites have been so much faster.
Reliability has been perfect since too. I was getting some notifications from downtime monitoring through JetPack previously, but since the move to their own hosting platform it seems have resolved all of those issues entirely.
The team have been excellent. There were delays in getting a response during the transition, but since it's definitely improved. I opened a ticket and got a response in 20 minutes which is excellent.

Gone downhill fast, avoid
Been a customer for many years, ever since enrolling on the original Codestars web development course on Udemy. Have since used them to host many personal and business websites. Only a few technical issues over the years which have been dealt with over the phone immediately by friendly staff.
A week ago I had an email saying there would be a migration but nothing needed doing by me. Then we stopped getting emails, and our website went down. Logged in to Eco web hosting - it's a new control panel and no more customer service phone number available.
There's DNS records I never made on our website. I create a ticket, and wait. Hours later, we're getting calls from customers asking what's going on. Still no response from Eco web hosting, I notice the ticket has been set to low priority.
I look online - there's a lot of people complaining about the same thing. Looks like the company has been acquired by another firm.
I quickly get some hosting with another more reputable company and within hours I'm back up and running.
Finally get a response from Eco web hosting, saying don't worry it looks like your site is fine!
I explain that's because it's being hosted elsewhere. They cannot/ will not tell me why my website went down and why my emails weren't working. Apparently they tried to replicate the problem at their end but couldn't tell me how they were attempting to do that.
I've now cancelled my hosting with them and will never be using them again. I can only assume it's poor management by whoever has taken them over, or they are simply getting rid of less profitable customers. At the very least reinstate the customer service phone line.
Five days after raising an urgent…
Five days after raising an urgent support ticket I'm being completely ignored, they are obviously now refusing to answer support tickets. As telephone number has been removed there is now no way to get in touch regarding urgent failure issues.
We are resellers of this company and they have completely left us and our customers high and dry.
Once brilliant but now utterly useless
Since being acquired by Enix this once brilliant hosting company has been destroyed. They have migrated the hosting to their own infrastructure, breaking almost everything in the process. Their mailservers are regularly unresponsive and have a poor spam reputation so that outgoing mail is frequently bounced by most major mail services. After weeks of pain I have moved everything back to 20i who used to host many EWH services. Everything just works again now and 20i support is top notch. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend EWH to anyone.

Complete meltdown multiple websites and email down. They claim to have fixed issues and then they come back it is clear either they or their new platform is just not up to the job.

I have been using my domain for email for years. No explanation that this new service requested would disrupt my current service, no help in getting it changed. Since paying for the new service, I have not been able to use my email.
I need my email for work and not have been able to access it, there has been terrible support.

Appalling company since it's been taken over. They have been migrating websites without giving notice, advice or support.
Mine was suddenly moved and in the process it was hacked and has been completely deleted. I have had very very poor communication from them and even have had to pay another company to try and set it out.
Unless Eco Web Hosting nae an all up of the site before moving it, then 10 years of my work in the website is lost and my business is going to suffer hugely.
I'm shocked and disgusted that they can do this. I seems its not just happened to me either.
Rotten company, lost clients and $
Recently they just migrated to a new system. No warning, no alerts, no announcement. They just changed everything and broke everything. DNS, Websites, Mail, all gone for customers. Support phone system is shut down. Canned response a day or two after submitting tickets, although now getting some more "human responses". I've lost thousands of dollars, and up to 8 days currently now of lost time. Lost many customers, and I can't transfer the ones I have left b/c they've locked down the Domain's and prohibited transfer. They need to be sued for all our damages.
Total Chaos
The current migration to the new infrastructure is an absolute mess.
Having a number of websites hosted with varying ages of code, but all working just fine yesterday, it seems they just implemented a one size fits all with a couple of different control panel layouts and zero explanations. We are apparently to recode on the fly, due to PHP variations which we could do if the website was actually up or the FTP actually worked.
Clients are really unhappy, which is understandable since first their email went down, then three websites have been down all day and there has been no response bar a canned email. Promising to look at the problem.
To be honest I really liked this company and their service was great so I am utterly shocked by this insane behaviour and guess they got sold to some heartless ecorp. There will be another migration quiet soon once I can get back in.
Avoid this company
Avoid this company, even if it's the only hosting provider left. All my domains are down and not available on the Global DNS servers, thus not accessible. OMG So Bad people is their.
The customer service is extremely poor, and their migration process is terribly managed.
Absolutely Terrible - Stay Away!
As everyone else has commented they appear to have been purchased and... what a way to destroy a once great company overnight! Support has gone from hero to zero under the new ownership and they are quite literally damaging businesses with no care whatsoever. Avoid if you value your business and data! I can see a class action law suit coming for these guys!

New system is not working well. I recommend staying away until it’s fixed. Was a good company, maybe has new management? Not sure. All I know is they forced me onto a new server system that’s has not been fully battle tested!

If you want a fast and reliable hosting company, with great customer service, then this company is definitely not for you.
No email, in or out, no website, and no contact from company for 4 days.
The only positive is that they've gone from a very big company to a very small one over night!

This used to be a good small web hosting company. Environmental kudos, reasonable price, decent service.
And then...
Reportedly it's under new owners and boy they are happy to throw their entire brand reputation and customer base away so they can't have paid a lot for it. Migrating websites to new combined servers has erased reams of content and there were no backups taken before the migration so the customer support can't help. Even the new installations no longer have auto back up, so further hosting crunches will be just as bad. Lots of email has been lost in the transition process too. They are just an embarassment - a couple of years ago or even six months ago I'd've given a big recommendation but as a load of other customers are reporting here now - it's no longer a competent service provider. Avoid.
Worst support ever
I have been with EWH for 10 years. It used to be OK, but after the migration to new servers in past days, I have never seen such catastrophic failure in my life and I have been in this field for years now.
The support is completelly unresponsive - not answering my urgent tickets and when they finally do (24h+), they answer it without reading the corespondance so keep asking same questions. Stalling instead of taking actions, and so on.
It has been 6 days with all websites and even emails down for one of my clients. Disaster... do not buy this hosting. I will def move to another provider as quickly as their unresponsive support will enable me.
I wouldn't, look else where
The 'seamless' migration hasn't gone well. I would look elsewhere, this isn't the first major issue I've had with Eco web hosting lack of interest in issues. The migration was left in a 'failed' state for 2.5 days with no notification or communications from the company at all.
It's getting sloppy.
It's getting sloppy. I was happy with Ecowebhosting for many years, but this year... First, they unilaterally transferred away one of my domains. Just one. I can no longer manage it on their website nor does their ticket about it inform me where else I should manage it. Having to manage one of your domains in a difference place is annoying anyway. Questioned about this, they're taking days to reply. Now there's the whole new nightmare of their freaking migration. Sites were down, databases were renamed, FTP accounts were deleted, post-migration DBs do not seem to have been correctly synced. It's better to stay away from this company right now, if you can.

I put my trust in Eco Web as my clients put their trust in me. Now you cut the hosting and people are missing emails and still offline. I have been making excuses for 4 days and heard insults for four days due to your migration. Not that you care in the least because even the support is half answered and could not care less about the impact it has. The one company that has still not had they sync started is a Medical Company. They have patients to answer and emails to get back to. They have been without information for 4 days.
