Avoid Ecovia at Olbia Airport like the plague. We were told to wait outside and ended up standing there for over an hour with zero communication, only to miss our car booking completely. Staff couldn... See more

Avoid
Avoid! Rented from Cinisi Sicily they tried to take 200 euros when we got there as said we didn’t have protection, we tock out total protection before so declined. On returning the car they then tried to say we scratched the alloys and our deposit of £500 was at risk lucky for us we had tock videos showing the car condition when we picked it up, showing damage to the alloys, her face was a picture don’t think she was expecting evidence like that lol Got to the point when it was so blatent what they was trying to do it’s like they knew and we new and it was a battle as I said Never ever ever ever again will I rent from this company.
scam
i rented true ecovia a car at the antalya airport. hit car rental was the local carrental. the didnt want to accept mine creditcard so i had to rent a car for more then 200 euro more. they are scammers. with the card there was nothing wrong i also contacted the bank.
AVOID at all costs
I wish I had read these Trustpilot reviews and wouldn’t recommend this company in a million years.
My advice avoid at all costs!!!!
Why? I turned up at their desk in Milan Bergamo 30 min after time. I inadvertently left my passport with my wife and explained that it would be about 30 min before she could arrive with the passport. The agent was unhelpful and said if was over an hour after the booking time when she arrived with the passport the booking would be deemed a “no show” and cancelled. Despite the fact I was at the desk talking to him! He said he couldn’t do anything about it as there was no flight number on the booking and he could do nothing as the booking was made via a third party. He recommended I contact the third party and they could change. It took time to get numbers and contact the third party who did talk directly with the agent by phone but informed were too late and booking deemed a ‘no show’
The third party were Ryanair Car rental and their agent was excellent polite professional and helpful. They refunded my car hire costs in full and helped arrange an alternate vehicle.
The alternate company Italy Car Hire were excellent polite professional kind an obliging in total contrast to my experience with an unhelpful Ecovia agent who caused me an unnecessary 2 hours airport stress for absolutely no reason. From reading the reviews unfortunately appears I’m not the only one!!
Staff member stole my AirPods
I recently rented a car at Turin Airport, and while the car itself was fine, my experience with the staff has been extremely disappointing. Upon returning the car, I realized I had left my jacket with a pair of AirPods inside. I immediately called the staff member I had dealt with, expecting a quick resolution. However, he claimed there was no jacket in the car. This didn’t add up since my AirPods’ location clearly showed they were still in the airport, exactly where I left the car.
I’ve just checked again, and now it appears my AirPods have been connected to a different Apple account. This strongly suggests they weren’t just “missing” but taken by someone. I would advise anyone renting from this location to be very cautious with their belongings.
Dirty car and no fully refueled.
Recently I rented a car via Ecovia. When picking up the car I had to wait 45 minutes after the booked time before I got the car. The car was parked far away. The car was parked in a different parking space than the rental company had indicated so it took some searching. The car had a lot of damage which was well recorded on the documents (a tip is to make a video of the entire car so that you don't have any problems with this when returning it). The car was still very dirty on the inside and the car was not completely full of fuel, in fact a quarter of the tank content was already gone. We later filed a complaint about this which was not resolved because we should have done this immediately and not afterwards according to the rental company.
Not transparent, inconsistent service
You have to find the car yourself in a latge parking area.
First, we were given a car that was not cleaned, sandy, dusty, with sticky spot on the door. When we voiced our disappointment, we were told there were no other cars and they will not clean it any more.
Then we found out that the key did not open properly. At ghis point we were given another car...,
the clutch of which later turned out not to work properly - from time to time it drop in and then we could not change gears, we had to step on it several times before it functioned again. When we returned it the following day, driving back from our hotel in Taormina (did not dare to drive it at all any further), they tried it and the clutch problem did not occur then (it was only from time to time). We were immediately offered a finally clean and properly working car, however, they again blocked a 700€ deposit. We were told that we may be held liable for the damage so the deposit is kept until the service examines the car. This we find very unfair as it was a hidden mistake - we were definitely not responsible for, on the contrary, it caused us fustration and loss of time.
Lastly, we did not get any SLA regarding the final closing of the investigation. It will happen when it will, our deposit blocked until then and we are left worried that they may not even return it....
When we asked to make note of the nature of the problem, they did not seem to understand what we are asking for. Finally, it is handwritten on our return document....
Ecovia will rip you off
Ecovia will rip you off. Do not use this Company!
Ecovia - 1 hour delay and they cancel your booking with no refund!
We hired a car from Ecovia via HolidayAutos, but Ecovia have a policy that if you are more than 1 hour after the given time then they assume you are a no show and refuse to give you the car or a refund. Not much use if you are flying in and the flight is delayed. They even claimed that they have hired your car out - but a Quick Look on a comparison website showed the same group of car available for hire. Staff were particularly unhelpful.
Do not use! Note Ecovia and Autovia use the same desk and staff - do are likely to be linked.
Service
Absolutely horrible staff. We first time rented a car from the Ecovia. Very pressing process for Insurance from their company. If you don't want Insurance from Ecovia, which is very expensive, they show you rude manners. On dropping day receptionist 'Sara' was unfriendly and showed no maners. Very bad experience, because we was very excited to visit Sardinia, and wanted to meet nice amd friendly people every, but Ecovia staff look tired and unhappy.
Poor Company - Ridiculous Customer Service
When I went to pick up the car I had rented, despite having already paid for full insurance through Expedia, they offered me another “full insurance” for €144, saying that if I didn’t take it, I could be charged at least €500 for any minor scratch. I declined, saying I would take responsibility for any damages. Then, when I went to collect the Peugeot 308, I noticed a large tear and damage on the tire. When I mentioned I couldn’t drive the car in that condition, they offered a lower-segment Volkswagen Up as an alternative. When I refused, they said I could upgrade the car for an extra fee. Shouldn’t they have upgraded me for free in this situation? We spent two hours dealing with this. When I said I would file a complaint and leave a bad review, they offered me the full insurance for €144 and a free upgrade. I had no other option, so I accepted, but it felt very unfair.
Dodged the bullet
We dodged the bullet! Pisa Airport. As reviewer Tomas Rouse mentioned on his, we had issue with the main driver not having a credit card. I have realised hours before we collect the car and unable to call them. We’re on red eye and they’re not open (website unable to change it). When we arrived, we were queuing for over 30mins before we were told they can’t do anything unless you change it and to call their main office which got me through after 8 mins and offered us new rent as we have lost our existing one plus deposit (luckily only £30). She said I can swap drivers name before collection time (11.00). She was nice but the system was wrong. Due to awaiting time 30mins in counter and for phone being picked up 9 mins later? We should be giving Lee way especially as the lateness is because the man behind the desk tried to sell insurance to every single customer. So we went to Avis next door which is more expensive but has much less deposit amount (€180 as opposed to €500). But at least they are reputable company.
I would give zero if I could.
I would give zero if I could.
We were late (only 20 min past 11pm)
Due a flight delay. I couldn’t call because I was literally up in the sky but hey, my problem.
The guy at the desk was extremely unfriendly and he gave me the impression he couldn’t be bothered to be there! Most likely he was falling asleep too.
Charged us 61€ for late pick up!
He must have been late for his PlayStation game night so he projected his frustration on us.
Term and conditions (yes, he use that card) fair enough but why ask for the flight number during the booking process if you won’t accept delays. I will never book again and economybookings.com should reconsider the misleading reviews on his website!
The car was an absolute piece of crap, the cheapest version of the cheapest car available in the market with 76000km that is way too much for a cheap rental car.
In the autostrada I couldn’t hear my own thoughts due the loud noises the car was making.
Never again
Terrible company !
Terrible company !! Our flight was delayed, and the company refused to change the principal and secondary drivers. I had to rent another car for my parents who were not allowed to take the car on time. Then, when I arrived with my 16-month-old baby girl, late, around 23h00, the desk guy was so rude and told us our booking had been cancelled and that they were not informed of our flight delay by the booking platform, and that they did not have a car anymore to rent us etc. As I had a nervous breakdown with my baby, the guy pretented to check again his emails and recognized he had an email from the platform. But nothing was ready, and the guy refused to help to install the baby seat. He did not register the info about the secondary driver. I fell with my luggages and my baby in the arms, as I had to carry on top of that the baby seat. At the end, I lost one bag (I realized that the next day). JUST RUN RUN RUN AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY.
Rented car for 3 days from Milan…
Rented car for 3 days from Milan Malpensa airport. Shuttle bus from airport to rental centre takes about 15mins. Remember shuttle bus is on floor 2 (terminal 2) at exit 17. We couldn’t figure this out as we landed terminal 1 but rang the rental centre who helped us out. Car was great. Upgraded to automatic for free. We were taking car back to Pisa airport so had to pay 95euro for that which was comparable to all other companies. Return to Pisa was straightforward. No claims we had caused any damage that wasn’t already there. Can’t really complain. Cheapest of all providers. Paid for extra insurance through Zest but wasn’t needed. Despite concerns due to previous reviews I had no issues.
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. We had a delayed flight. Desk was closed. We tried to call them several times also before our flight. Unable to contact them. We had to get a cab and a hotel, because they did not want to wait for the delayed flight. The day after we wanted to pick up our car, but it was not reserved anymore. No other cars available also. Money gone and a rude desk employee. In the end we payed for a cab, hotel and another car. Never rent a car here!!
Take pictures of every dent
Be careful with this company specially the one in Brindisi airport.after returning the car they tried to blame us on a scratch which was already there before, good we took pictures all of it on the night of the pick up. After showing them the pictures they quickly know they were wrong. Then them moved on too petrol which was full to full we had the car on 670 . Full tank is 725 . After after returning the car on 700 they quickly pick on that. Thais is not full and charged me 35€ . So better be careful with them take pictures of everything so you can challenge them as they will always come up with something at the end .
NEVER USE EcoVia
NEVER USE EcoVia ! they are rude, very unsupportive, and wasted a lot of my money (as they did not hand out the car but did charge all the rental cost).
They refused to accept our credit card, which was registered in the same family and pre-authorized. They also refused debet card, and put no effort whatsoever to help my son get things sorted. He ended up having to take a taxi, which doubled the cost and messed up his entire weekend. And on top of that we paid for a rental car which was never handed over to us.
Stay away from this company, they are an embarrassment to Italy :-(
Horrible Experience with Ecovia - Avoid at All Costs
My recent experience with Ecovia has been nothing short of a nightmare. After two months of supposed “investigation” into an issue I faced, the response I finally received was utterly disappointing and unacceptable.
From the moment I encountered the problem, I faced significant losses: not only did I waste an enormous amount of time and effort trying to find a resolution, but I also experienced humiliation at the airport due to the lack of support from Ecovia. The stress and frustration caused by this situation are indescribable.
Despite my patience and hope that Ecovia would resolve the issue, their response was inadequate, leaving me with no faith in their service or systems.
Excellent experience with Ecovia
Rented an economy size vehicle pick up from Catania Airport Sicily for one-way 11 day drive to drop off in Palermo. Competitively priced via DiscoverCars.com and took full insurance option reasonably priced for no responsibility on any damage. We were upgraded to a brand-new Cupra - super comfortable for 4 people with luggage areas of our original Fiat Panda. Quick friendly easy pickup in Catania, quick friendly easy drop off in Palermo near airport with shuttle. Will definitely use Ecovia /Autovia again. Had previously used Centauro and they were absolutely terrible.
