Economy bookings is working with a scam…
Economy bookings is working with a scam rental company called FLEXTOGO in Manchester City airport! Economy bookings send me a 4 pages email confirming my booking price if about £65 with no explicit warning of £180/fine for traffic fines. It end up changing me additional £900 for 3 days use of a small vehicle. I strongly believe FLEXTOGO have built in video to trace where the cars goes and then they ho along to invite the local authorities involved to issue as much fines as possible to charge you £180/fines hidden in their links beyond the 4 pages of A4 confirmation. I book the car for 3 days and I use less than 30 kilometres in Manchester City for 2 days and more than 400 km in Liverpool, York and Leeds . But miraculously, I got 5 fines 100% in less than 10 % of my driving distance and 3 parking fines is proven 100% wrong issues by a private car park company in Manchester where AC Manchester Salford Marriott and Ibis share the parking spaces. I will start a police report and investigation on this scam company who probably had collaborated with many local companies to cheat renter’s management fees. Even after I show them proof that the parking fines was wrongly issued because I have parking receipts from the hotel, but they simply deny my proof by saying I should ask who issued the wrong fines to compensate me my losses to FLEXTOGO.

Charges for traffic or parking penalties are usually handled by the supplier under their own rental terms, and they often pass through the authority amount plus an admin fee if the terms allow it. Those charges should still be shown clearly enough to review.
EconomyBookings is a legitimate booking platform, but this kind of bill still needs checking against the booking record and FLEXTOGO’s paperwork.

I was charged double for the same…
I was charged double for the same transaction. One charge went thru my credit card and web page stated payment didn’t go thru so then I entered my debit card and that one went thru creating a receipt however both card got charged the same amount. I called customer service and I was told I was going to be called back and it’s been a week and I haven’t received a response.

Two charges for the same booking — first on your credit card, then again when the page said payment hadn’t gone through and you entered your debit card — is a frustrating one to have to chase, especially after waiting a week for a call back. When a payment screen fails but a card is still charged, it can leave one transaction as a pending or settled charge and the other as the completed booking payment. If both have gone through, the team needs to match them against the booking and payment logs.

I used a promo code, and despite the fact it gave me a confirmation to use the code and applied to the final price, I did not get any discount!
Interestingly, the invoice also did not include it, which is pretty strange!

I arranged car rental with EconomyBookings and the rental company didn’t rent the car for me because my internal driver license was short by 8 hrs. I have tried to contact the EconomyBookings from the airport but I couldn’t get anybody to make a small change for me. They took my money for the deposit and after that they are not responding to my emails at all. I couldn’t get anyone when i needed their help or after. I do not recommend this company. Yes they have attractive prices but if something happens you’re on your own. It’s a horrible business.

Being turned away because your licence was 8 hours short of the supplier’s minimum, then not getting a reply when you tried to sort it from the airport, is a very hard result. The desk usually has to check the driver’s documents exactly against the booking conditions, and even a small shortfall can be enough for them to refuse the car. If a deposit was taken, that’s normally a separate pre-authorisation hold and is released on the supplier’s and bank’s own timeline. A delayed flight, a closed counter by the time you arrived, and being told at the desk that a full refund would be issued is a rough sequence to then have turned down. Section 9.1 is usually the bit that covers missing or outdated flight details, and bookings missed at pickup can be treated as a no-show even when the delay itself wasn’t your fault. It’s a requirement that exists for practical reasons, but that doesn’t make it any easier in this sort of case.
