When booking the car through the website, I was prompted to purchase "Full Coverage" only for us to realise too late this coverage is capped at EUR 1,700 (!!).
They also charged us for additional driver, but somehow the rental company did not get paid for it, so we had to purchase it seperately. Totally dishonest company.

Full Coverage is a reimbursement-based product, so the cap shown on the booking is the maximum eligible amount under that cover rather than a waiver at the counter. For extras like an additional driver, the way they’re processed depends on the supplier’s setup, and some desks will still ask for payment if it isn’t showing on their side. Drivalia Confirmed the Fault and Refunded Me Directly While Economy Bookings Kept Lying
I am writing this final update to expose the utter incompetence and dishonest customer support of Economy Bookings.
For over two months, Economy Bookings refused to refund €66.43 for an unused day caused entirely by a 2-hour-and-15-minute queue delay at the rental desk. Instead of helping, their support team:
Falsely claimed I picked up the vehicle on May 24th instead of May 25th.
Tried to hide behind baseless "No-Show" policies despite me being at the counter on time.
Fabricated absurd calculations in their public replies to manipulate the facts.
The Reality:
After hitting a brick wall with Economy Bookings, I contacted the supplier, Drivalia, directly. Unlike Economy Bookings, Drivalia acknowledged the operational delay immediately, verified the accurate timeline, approved my refund request without hesitation, and transferred the money directly into my bank account.
Drivalia doing the right thing proves beyond doubt that Economy Bookings’ claims and excuses were fabricated lies designed to keep customer money.
Economy Bookings provides zero customer protection and will openly distort facts in public reviews rather than admit an error. Avoid this broker at all costs. Here are much more reliable alternatives; Discover Cars, VIP Cars, RentCarla, Enjoy, Trip, Holiday Cars, eDreams, and RentalCars

To clarify our position briefly, without reopening the dispute: the delay at pickup was an operational matter on the supplier's side, which is precisely why Drivalia was the party able to assess and refund it. Our replies were based on the booking terms accepted at payment, under which unused time isn't refundable at the broker level — but that policy doesn't prevent the supplier from issuing goodwill on their own operational failing, which is what happened here. So both things are true: the terms were as we stated, and Drivalia rightly chose to make it right on their end.
The "24 May" reference in an earlier public reply was a typo, since corrected — not an attempt to distort anything, and I'm sorry it read that way.
Either way, you've now been refunded, which is the outcome that matters. I appreciate the frustration it took to get there, and I'm glad it's resolved.

Not satisfying experience with this rental platform! I booked a car months ahead via economybookings.com. On the day of travel, I received a Whatsapp message from a company called MGL Rent Palermo, that I should contact them for the pick-up once I arrive in Palermo. When I landed I received a message saying, they are no more responsible for the rental car and I should contact the company Green Motion in UK. When I tried to call both rental companies they did not pick up the phone nor responded to my messages. Bad service. I was travelling with three adults and five kids, stranded on the airport in Palermo, no car, no help. I had to rent a car with another rental company. economybookings.com immediately opened a case. I delivered them all the information they needed. Even after 30 days I did not get my money back. There was no proactive service. Finally I could get a reimbursement through my credit card company. Bad experience, lots of time and energy wasted.

Getting to Palermo with three adults and five kids, then being left at the airport with no car and no answer from MGL Rent Palermo or Green Motion UK, is a rough sequence of events. Thirty days without a clear update after you’d already sent everything in is a lot of time to sit in limbo.
Once a credit card dispute has been raised, the reimbursement path usually sits with the card issuer, which is why the booking case can feel stuck while that process runs. If you still need the booking file or supporting paperwork, do email community@bookinggroup.com with your booking number and case reference, and the team can pull that together.

CHF 832 on the first booking, then seeing a smaller amount in the eWallet after moving the trip from 20 August to 22 August is a frustrating mismatch. The eWallet credit is normally the refundable balance after the booking terms are applied, so a non-refundable item or cancellation fee can reduce it — it isn’t usually a separate hidden commission.
If you want it checked against your reservation, send the booking number and both confirmation emails through the Help Center on the website. The team can compare the original amount with what was credited and explain the difference.
