Worst place to ever join

Worst place to ever join. It is a complete trap! They keep on charging you again & again for unnecessary stuff, take VERY long to give back your deposits! It is the worst trap you can fall into. Stay away, to flee!!!!

Poor shuttle service ARCHAMPS ECLA

The Archamps ECLA campus needs to improve their shuttle service as soon as possible. Currently you can not rely on them and they are always full. You simple need a car to live here with the current shuttle service.

We had a nice stay, but..

We had a nice stay (7 nights) - our room and the facilities was nice - and even equipped with a tea-kitchen. The personnel was friendly, professional and service-minded and security is high.
Three things to improve:
1. Breakfast - several mornings there were only croissants, plain white toast bread and cereals to choose between.
2. Cleaning: Obviously, the fan hanging from the roof in our room had not been wiped off recently, so I did that myself, since it was quite nasty, with dirt hanging from the propel.
3. My wedding ring got stolen from the apartment while we were out!🫤

If my ring had not been stolen, they would, however, deserve 3 stars.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESIDENCE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET SCAMMED!!!

YOUR RIGHTS MEAN NOTHING AT ECLA!

My story is a warning to everyone planning to live here.

Here’s what happened:

After two months of staying at ECLA, I officially notified the residence about the termination of my lease, exactly one month in advance, as required by the contract.

A few days before the planned move-out date, I encountered urgent circumstances and had to leave France early for work reasons.
I informed ECLA about this in person at the reception desk, followed up with an email (which they completely ignored), and the next morning, I handed my keys to a staff member at reception.
After returning the keys, I left the residence and the country.

I was waiting for the return of my deposit. But what happened next was absolutely shocking…

Over a month passed, and my deposit was still not returned.
I decided to contact them myself.
The response I received was unbelievable: they claimed that my lease was STILL ACTIVE!!

The reason?
Because I had left the apartment three days earlier than planned, and according to them, they “could not perform the move-out inspection.”

Let me make it clear:
1. I officially notified ECLA about ending my lease one month in advance.
2. I informed them about my earlier departure both in person at the front desk and via email.
3. I handed over my keys to a staff member at reception.
4. I completely vacated the room.

I fully completed all the legal steps required to end the lease.
Yet, ECLA refused to acknowledge my departure and continued to charge me rent.

THE MOST ABSURD PART:
During all this time, I never received a single invoice for payment.
Only complete silence… and then, out of nowhere, a bill. :)

I’m not the only one.
Many students have reported that ECLA unfairly keeps deposits and mistreats tenants.

ECLA is a place where your rights mean absolutely nothing.
A residence that should feel like your home quickly turns into a nightmare full of problems and stress.

Refund not processed yet after 3 months

Worst management and Account's team. I need update on my refund and an exact date since when your pathetic account team will initiate my refund.

History

I have applied for France study, Visa and I picked Ecla noisy grand for my accommodation, but somehow my Visa was rejected, and I have requested Ecla For my refund of €990 of security deposit and €770 for my room charges. I received email in end of January that Your refund has been validated And I was in touch with one of their employee, Balaji, who is updating me about the status of my refund, and I was notified that I got my refund by the first week of April, and now we are about to enter in month of May, but my refund is not yet provided. Balaji has tried to check with Ecla's account's team, but their account team is worst in this world who will not give you any resolution.

So I must say though you're .1% unsure about your travel please don't go with Ecla, because they are only money minded people and least bother about any of the services.

The team Is full of scammers And will not entertain you if you need any kind of service in return.

Fake Offer and Not Refund My Money

I am writing this review to share the serious issues and significant financial loss I have experienced with ECLA Massy-Palaiseau, facilitated through Science Accueil. Here is a summary of the situation:

1. I initially submitted a form through Science Accueil, clearly stating my request for a studio rental for 2 months starting September 1st, 2024.
2. I was initially offered a rental with a monthly rent of €890, an admin fee of €300, and a deposit of €950, totaling €2140, which I was asked to pay upfront.
3. I made the payment and sent the receipt.
4. I then received the contract along with instructions on what I needed to do next.
5. I noticed an error in the contract dates, informed them, and requested a correction. I did not sign the contract.
6. Subsequently, I was informed that there was a mistake in the initial offer and received a new proposal with significantly higher rent: €1638 per month, a deposit of €250, and the following payment structure:
For September 2024: €1638, October: €1638, November: €1638
They also stated that my initial payment of €2140 would be credited towards this new proposal, and I would need to pay an additional €3024 to reserve the apartment.

There are several issues with this new proposal:
a. They said "the old contract that you signed is void." - But guess what? I have never ever signed any contract.
b. They themselves acknowledge that the previous offer is void.
c. They accepted my initial payment of €2140, yet the new offer has no valid legal basis, making the initial payment unjustified.
d. They mentioned they would request a refund from Garantme, but Garantme is unaware of any refund. I have emailed Garantme and included ECLA, who are asking for confirmation of the cancellation.

I have experienced significant inconvenience and financial loss due to this situation and have not received any response or resolution.

WORST SERVICE AND RESIDENCE EVER! DO NOT BOOK A STUDIO OR A ROOM HERE!

The managers of this residence are very unprofessional and rude, they don’t care about the customers, and the whole building is dirty and stinks.

I will enumerate a few of the problems I had at this residence, so you are all aware and you DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY STAYING HERE:

- During the check-in the studio was delivered to us with several problems and things to repair, we reported all the faults with the studio L, by sending several emails to the managers and they never replied or repaired the broken items and the problems reported with the studio, until I went to the manager's office and started yelling at them. Finally, they sent someone to repair the studio, but funny enough the handyman came and stayed in the studio for 4 hours and didn’t repair one single thing. The handyman said he would come back another day and he never did, until today we are still waiting for him. I immediately reported this situation again to the Ecla managers and the managers have done absolutely nothing about this;

- The common areas such as, kitchen, toilets, stairs, l gym etc are always dirty and stinky. I reported to the managers and they said: “IT IS NORMAL”!

- For several times we have found online advertising on the property websites, for the same studio L that we are currently renting stating a way cheaper price, approximately 300€ cheaper than the amount we are currently paying, which I am sure it’s illegal because companies can’t rent the same properties for different prices or fix a studio pricing according to their liking, that's a discriminatory act.

- The key badge application, never works, for several times we have booked the movie rooms and tried to use the key phone badge to access these rooms and it never works. We always have to go to the reception and ask one of the staff members to open the doors for us, and the staff members are barely there to help us! It’s a JOKE!

- Usually, there’s never anyone providing customer service at the reception, they can never help the guest, with absolutely nothing! They’re useless!

There are so many problems with Ecla Residence Massy–Palaiseau that I wouldn’t have enough time or words to describe all of them to you, but today was the worst of all of them! The Ecla managers have offered us an amicable solution to move into a Duplex Studio, which is bigger, cleaner etc … we said YES AND AGREED ON A CHECK-OUT AND CHECK-IN DATE WHICH, WOULD BE TOMORROW, 18/01/2023, AT 9 AM, for which we have written proof from the Ecla managers.

Today, at 7 PM, they send us an email saying that our check-in for tomorrow IS CANCELLED, when we HAVE ALREADY PACKED ALL OF OUR THINGS AND WE ARE READY TO MOVE OUT!

They did not even bother to call us to apologise, to justify the cancellation and they informed us only 8 hours before the check out!

NOW, WE HAVE PACKED ALL OF OUR STUFF, WE DO NOT HAVE WHERE TO GO, WE HAVE TO CHECK OUT TOMORROW AND THEY KEPT ALL OF OUR MONEY! NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO CALL US TO APOLOGISE, OR GIVE US ANY INFORMATION OR INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO!

We went to the reception looking for some answers and guidance on how to proceed next and the receptionist as always said: “THE MANAGER HAS LEFT ALREADY AND WE CANNOT HELP YOU. TRY ANOTHER DAY, TOMORROW PERHAPS!”

THIS IS A NIGHTMARE! PLEASE, BE WISE AND DO NOT EVER STAY HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT 100%.
