A GHOST Company, unreliable untrustworthy!

I honestly do not know who these people are and what is the nature of their business. I found a car on Auto Trader advertised by them. When I call them up they confirmed that the car is ready for sale. When I checked their website to find out if they actually exist. I found the so many other cars but not the one I was looking for. I called them up just before they were closing to find out what was going on. I was told to come tomorrow and the car would be ready. The next day I checked the car which could not be found either on the Auto Trader website nor on their own website. Please do not trust this company they are a bunch of opportunists to empty your pockets. I wish I could give them negative stars.

Aaccepted a booking that they could not honour

EasyCar accepted my booking that they could not honour, and are refusing a refund.

I booked a car from Stansted Airport, to be picked up at 18:00. The booking assigned to Hertz. I stated on the booking our flight number, a flight due in at 17:15.

In the event our flight was late, so we did not get to the Hertz desk until 19:20, to find that it had closed at 18:00. Thus it was not possible to collect the car as booked - and easyCar knew so.

Easycar are liars and thiefs

Easycar are liars and thief’s, I booked a car through Rentalcar website, which directed me to Easycar. I booked a car for a week, and received the confirmation via email. The terms and conditions on the email confirmation I received, indicated that I could cancel the booking up to 24 hours before the time. I did cancel the car, well before the 24 hour cut off, and requested a full refund through Car Trawler, who mentioned in the Easycar Terms and Conditions, to cancel through them. After emailing Car Trawler many times, confirming details of booking, card etc, I then get an email from the same person on Car Trawler, but now via the easycar email, to say that the refund is confirmed but less an admin fee, because I cancelled in less than 48 hours.

I emailed both Easycar and Car Trawler and challenged this, only to be ignored by Car Trawler and responded to by Easycar, to say this is the terms and conditions that my specific car is signed up to - 48 hours cancellation

When I spoke with an arrogant Customer Service Supervisor - Muhammad from Easycar, explaining to him that I have Easycar T’s & C’s, which stipulates 24 hours, he said no there are two cancellation periods 24 hours and 48 hours and my policy is 48 hours.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE EASYCAR RENTAL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, THEY WILL REFUND YOU, LESS A 54 GBP ADMIN FEE, EVEN IF YOU ARE WELL WITHIN THE CANCELATION PERIOD.

Be aware of Fraudulent Ads and unhelpful customer service

You do not know what you are buying until you are paying. The ad will make you think it's a great deal but simply they will be showing a better category car. As soon as you pay you receive a confirmation for a lower category cheap car. I understand they cannot guarantee the make and model but the car must be of the same category. I called them multiple times (expect long wait on the phone) and they were giving me constantly false and contradictory statements. I honestly believe you should stay away from company like this who would try to attract clients with false promises.

Absolutely AWFUL

Absolutely AWFUL! Wanted to hire a car for 1 week visiting my parents after a bereavement in Alicante. Booked a car through EasyCar and FireFly for a very reasonable cost. Or so I thought! I prepaid it and when I arrived at Alicante to collect car was told that I needed to pay a refuel cost of an extra 130 Euro over twice what I paid for the original hire. They said it was a full/empty contract and I can use all the fuel but need to pay 130 euro extra for their admin costs and refuel cost! I said I was happy to return the car with a full tank but they said I would still be charged the extra 130 Euro! I said fine will cancel it and go to one of the other hire car desks! They said thats ok but they will not refund me for original hire costs! Ended up taking the car and even the assistant agreed its a con and a way of upsellling and out and out deliberate misleading! Will be taking this up with the Ombusman and will never use Easycar or Firefly again! Beware read all small print you have be warned!!!!

Watch out!

Watch out - they get a 3rd party to provide the car. Interrent in my case (Malaga airport) who we’re beyond shambolic and worse still attempted to be fraudulent - essentially waited v hard to find in the first place (in the car park not the main airport with the more reputable car hire companies). Highly pressurised sale to upgrade and take out excess policy even tough we had taken one out for 1 year’s cover (much cheaper) then took 30 mins to drop off car before being told it was at another desk around the corner. But the attempted fraud was the worst bit - they asked me if I had taken photos of the scratches that had already been highlighted to me when I picked up the car!!! Specifically testing me saying have you got a photo of when you picked it up of the [minute - 1cm] scratch on the left wing mirror and the one on the rear left wing - thank goodness I had taken a photo as I’m sure if I hadn’t they would have charged me. Avoid! I’m using SIXT next time as only slightly more expensive and we’re much better.

The wait was long and worthwhile.
My support person in Manchester answered my questions, alerted me to some forth coming potential surprises, and was genuinely interested in me as a customer.
Much more satisfying than a mechanised chat or email.
Keep up the human contact, we are special.

Wake up on Saturday to no car, no contact, and no refund in my account

This is the feedback I left on easycarclub website - but it was removed by the company. Says it all about how seriously they treat customers.

"Wake up on Saturday morning to no car, no contact, and no refund in my account.The only thing I got is a lame email at 4am - just hours before the start of the trip. Getting stuck on a Saturday morning forced to make alternative travel arrangements to a wedding for the whole family is not a great experience! Avoid this car club member, and avoid easycar for important events!"

Poor customer service and Fraudulent behaviour

Booked a car for my UK trip via Easycar website and took their full protection which states that you will receive a refund for any excess paid in case of an accident.
The car Easycar provided me was via a third car hire company called Europcar and as I was involved with an accident, Europcar charged me their excess fee which was £1000.
I made my claim for the reimbursement of this fee on Easycar website and supplied them all the documents they requested. However it has been more than a month now I still have not had my refund yet. Worst still it is difficult to get in touch with them and they do not reply to any emails. I have written to them more than 5 times now with no reply. I called them twice and each time I called I was told that they were looking into it and had to have a repair estimate from Europcar. Their website clearly states that a full refund will be provided if a full protection package is taken out. However it does not seem to be the case and Easycar thinks it can drag its feet and not pay out the money. This is blatant fraudulent behaviour and appalling customer service. I would NOT recommend anyone renting or using Easycar services.
