RUDE STAFF MEMBER ON CAR PARK PATROL
09/02/26.17.00 Coombs ford, whilst waiting as near as I could park for my 83 year old mother to do her shopping.I was drawn into what turned out to be a row with a Black haired member of staff who accused me of just sitting there in my car.taking up space and threatening me with a £100 fine.when asked for her name twice she said BOB and.I then asked for a manager and was ignored.stood in the doorway to hear them call her to the till, names was clair.
We wont be using branch ever again

Went into local coop to send a parcel off with Evri told to come back during rhe day when more staff are on snd it will get done then.
Im sorry but thats bad customer service, but was serving other customers.
I used to work for yourselves and never spoken to anyone like that
Yoi need to sort your staff out. That's the worse coop ever.
Staff too old and slow
Lazy, slow useless service. I called in to pick up an EDP newspaper in the Harleston branch at 8.38am and lazy bastards hadn’t even undone the bundle and put them on the shelf. They couldn’t give a shit. Good job a Lidl has just opened and they will put this shower out of business and out of work.
Being ignore
I purchased 2 x sets of bedding from the store in Shepton Mallet, when I got home I decided I only needed 1 set so went to return the unopened bedding I didn't want. I was informed that I could not have a refund or exchange as it was bedding. No where in the shop did it say that, the sales assistant who sold it to me didn't and the receipt clearly explained about refunds but no mention of bedding. I have contacted Ponden Home twice about this, sent a photo of the sealed unopened bedding and also the receipt that explains the returns policy. NO REPLY AT ALL FROM PONDEN.

Misogyny
What went wrong THIS time? Well, quite. Another bad experience. It's incredibly difficult to get East of England Co-op to take responsibility for the actions and activities of its staff or team members. Accountability isn't really in their scope. Even when you get an outcome at last, if anything else crops up you'll be back to square one. I can only recommend getting other authoritative bodies behind you, especially the Information Commissioner's officer if it's about your personal data, or the Equality Advisory and Support Service if you think there might be ageism or something against another protected characteristic. There is definitely misogyny.
When a trader using E of E Co op premises was reported to them, they chose to pass the buck, failed to offer proper contact details, then tried to hide. It didn't matter to me all that much; the issue was so serious, the police took over. But it was shocking customer service overall.
Harlston coop paying for food with a human
Harlston coop paying for food with my 93 yr old father in law. He needed help paying for his shopping not being one who is used to using an online computer to serve him. So we stood patiently waiting by till for someone to help us out. A few staff members walked past and tutted at my father-in-law. A few more staff members walked up to us, ignored us and walked past us. Even though some lady over the speakerphone was announcing. Can someone go to till one? We waited patiently while the self service computers had piled up to over 20 people all waiting patiently in line. Finally 20 minutes later three staff members walked by and one man from the back of the store came down to the till and said, “I am your last resort”. We finally had a human to help us out and to talk to which helped my father-in-law be motivated to pay for his own shopping.
This also started a trend and more people came over and queued at a till to be served by a human. As you can imagine human interaction is priceless and as a human to a human creates good human positive spirits. We need more good people in the world and hopefully more staff from co-op can be of service.
Mouldy food item
For second time in last couple of months have bought ambrosia luxury rice in small pots first time both pots had thick green mould on did return them to shop they reimbursed my money taking a chance bout another small pack of same rice 1 pot was mouldy!!
Find the shop as whole poor feel cannot use place again not great shopping experience
Happy to breach a contract
Despite warning the branch that if my brother-in-law attended the Clacton branch with a will it would probably be forged they folded against him when he did turn up. They did not actually examine the will nor did they give us the opportunity to before releasing his mothers body to a different funeral director.
This meant they did breach the contract they had with my wife which would be legally binding when the wishes of the executor are not, they didn't even know if the funeral was mentioned in the will (which would be rare).
The Co-op are members of a trade association and I have complained to them who appear to have agreed with my complaint so have requested an apology yet 6 months later still nothing from the co-op to acknowledge the stress they caused my wife.
Strict instruction in my will to NOT use the co-op for me and my wife.
Stanway branch Co-op funeral Services
Elanor at the Stanway branch was very kind and helpful. The arrangements for the cremation were organised without fuss and Elanor made every effort to help liaise with the Crematorium regarding the music. There is plenty of free parking at the Stanway branch.
Ben, the undertaker was incredibly kind and sensitive on the day mum died and at the crematorium.
I would recommend Stanway Co-op funeral services.
the staff are very rude
the staff are very rude , we have been accused for stealingfrom this shop and they refuse us all into the shop at once (there’s 4 of us) my sisters are 6,10 and 12 the staff are highly disrespectful and talk to us in a rude manner , they even refused me and my best friend into the shop at the same time . my poor sisters have to sit outside the shop being as young as they are they could get kidnapped or worse and when my youngest sister wanted to go into the shop they said me (being the oldest) couldn’t go into the shop with her only my other younger sister could wich is highly irresponsible of them as she can’t be responsible for her . this has happend loads of times now and me and my sisters come here allot and spent allot so considering this it hurts my feelings and i feel offended because i don’t steal and i never would
Combs Ford Co-op sent my elderly…
Combs Ford Co-op sent my elderly parents a parking fine for £160 which they do not deserve, thanks for making 2 nice people very stressed and upset. Co-op used to be a socially responsible company, which idiot is in charge of this place now? We're never going back.
Your ice in Woolpit is awful
Your ice in Woolpit is awful. Have you allowed it to defrost the refreeze? Just a solid block recently. Not worth the effort buying plus fruit and veg really poor availability.
Quick service
Quick, friendly service. Generally my experience in Halstead is good, though there never seem to be any staff on the shop floor, only on the tills
Despite settling account now had a credit control dept letter
My late partners funeral was arranged through the local co op...Within a few days of receiving the bill I went in person and paid...I have now had a demand from their credit control department saying bill is unpaid... I phoned to express my surprise and annoyance and was told someone would phone me back from the local branch I dealt with...Of course nobody phoned...I think its disgusting that this has happened to a bereaved customer
Recently went into the CO-OP at Hamblin…
Recently went into the CO-OP at Hamblin Road, and what a dump. Two managers were arguing in the shop floor infront of customers, which doesn’t look good on the company at all. Staff weren’t very helpful at all when I required assistance. All staff looked very unhappy. I asked one of the members of staff, where the green tea was and they said there was no stock, but then I found it around the corner, which means the staff don’t even bloody know their stock!!! Disgusting.
Decent range of food
Decent range of food in my local (Burnham on Crouch) but could offer more choice and value
Leading by example
When I visited my local Coop in Leiston today, I spotted the manager and another staff member picking up rubbish around the outside of the supermarket.
The manager said they were trying to raise the profile of the supermarket in the community.
I would like to congratulate E of E Coop for employing managers that 'lead by example', and who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. Well done!!
Good for necessities, reward points poor
Bsea
Have ok stock and basic daily top up needs. The clothes bit is a big plus as was the subway(left 2yr ago)
Mostly friendly staff.
Prob same most shops, but price goes up fortnightly.
Rewards are a joke.
Filled up weekly for a year with diesel/petrol/shopping and got 16 notes.
PARKING WARNING Parents
PARKING WARNING after a recent visit to Stowmarket COOP, I have since received a parking fine for using a parent a baby space. Having 2 children in the car but not getting them out as they were asleep, I stopped for 2 minutes to check if the store was open. It wasn't and in turn, I now have a ticket for £170 after contesting and sending proof that I had 2 children in the car.
I want to make as many people aware of this as this is wrong. And I hope it makes people think about using these stores.
