I have used this company for the…
I have used this company for the duration of my dogs life. They sent a nice message when he passed away and have dealt with my claim quickly and efficiently. I would use this company again for the straightforward process and the customer service received has been great., They keep you informed via email and are happy to give you an update on your claim. Thank you E&L this is the kind of service we should receive when we lose our pets.
Do not use
Do not use , not only will they refuse to pay a claim, but they’ll also increase your policy from £97 to £382... absolutely diabolical company 🤬🤬🤬🤬
I was with them for 4 years
I was with them for 4 years! They’ve raised mi dog’s insurance to 95£ from 50£! I won’t recommend them! THIEVS! THIEVES! THIEVES!
I have been using there pet insurance…
I have been using there pet insurance for about four years now for two of my elderly huskies and now I have added a new addition about one year ago, I have rang a few times to decrease insurances but they have always been great with me and I haven't been refunded when I needed to claim, I rang them twice today and spoke to fiona and Chris and they were very helpful and understanding, a big thanku to Chris she sorted everything for me today, Thanku E & L for looking after my huskie bill's 😊
Diabolical do not want to pay out after…
Diabolical do not want to pay out after years of paying in and not claiming. Dog came down with pancreatitis but as I had taken him to the vets with D&v the yr before after drinking manky pond water they excluded the digestive system....totally unrelated and ridiculous so after paying £1350 a year insurance no help and now have to pay £2200. Policy cancelled wasted 1000s on this company. Avoid at all costs. Would have give 0 but unable to do so on trustpilot
Avoid
As many others on this forum say. Avoid this company, total sham. Having had my beloved dog put to sleep,I placed a claim with them. Just short of £1000 vet fees and received £300 in settlement. Totally diabolical. Make sure you read the small print before you set up a policy with them. Like most of these companies they have a long list of exclusions and get out clauses, you feel your doing the right thing for your pets health. Not one claim in 11+ years until the sad event that led to this claim. Kicking you when your down for sure. Not happy about the settlement amount but won't be adjusted as I have spoken to them and they tried to fully justify the reasoning behind it. It won't bring my lovely chocolate lab back but If I had known what I know now the £45 per month that we were paying in the end would have been more sensibly put in the bank and saved for the eventuality. These companies have you over a barrel when you think about moving companies with all their clauses and exclusions. So please do yourself a favour and avoid...
AVOID! Don't even bother! Not worth one star
Upon renewal they will DOUBLE your premiums - did the same to me last year, and then when I queried/wanted to cancel, they said I could have at same price as previous year!
This year "No sorry we cant do that"!
Alternatively, if you cant afford the hiked up price increases for your beloved pets, you can choose a lower level of cover! So yes pay less but get covered for less! Or alternatively as on an old tariff I could move to a new tariff (which I might add, yes is cheaper that what I am currently paying) BUT YOUR PETS WILL NOT BE INSURED/THEY WILL VOID ANY INSURANCE FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS!!
ABSOLUTE JOKE, ABSOLUTE MONEY GRABBING FARCE! THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME CHOOSE BETWEEN INSURING MY CATS AND HAVING TO FIND NEARLY DOUBLE THE MONTHLY PREMIUM TO PAY EACH MONTH...., OR MOVING MY CATS TO AN ALTERNATIVE/NEW TARIFF AS PER THE INSURANCE EMPORIUM WEBSITE AND NOT HAVING THEM INSURED FOR TWO WEEKS!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Faced with a potential £5k vet bill today to find that E&L will only pay up to £500 per condition, also want £79 excess, and also want me to pay 35% of the remainder. So I will get about £280 - after having paid £20 per month for the last eleven years. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
No help at all with a claim
No help at all with a claim, won't say if it's covered even if they see the notes up front, purpose of insurance is because you need it to pay vets, not pay vets upfront and hope they'll pay when they won't look at the claim until the procedure is done, a catch 22 situation which is of no help at all to customers, I won't be renewing in Nov for certain. Even the Vets that called them get nowhere. Who has the best part of a £1000 to pay upfront without knowing if they are covered, Useless waste of money and time insurers
AVOID!!
AVOID!!! Put the money in a bank account, you will not get paid out even with a rock solid claim they take off so much and exclude so much it’s not worth the hassle..........appalled....they love sending you a smug email quoting why you aren’t covered and even if they have to pay it takes FOREVER. Surprised they are still operating as verging on not legal surely !
*******DANGER********
*******DANGER********
They say you really don't know how good an insurance company is until you have to make a claim. Well all the bad reviews explain this company totally. Poor service, ages to pay a claim, exclude the claimed item from your policy renewal instantly, reduce the payout you are due, give you incorrect advice on there own procedures etc. All the good reviews look like they are written by staff members. AVOID, ADVOID, ADVOID!!!
Avoid at all costs
Absolutely awful - do not go near them with a 10 foot pole!
Purchased (far from entry level) wedding insurance from them which ended up being worth absolutely nothing. Now I appreciate that lots of insurers have not paid out for weddings that had to be cancelled/postponed due to coronavirus, but there is a spectrum of how different companies have interpreted things and represented themselves.
E&L did not properly communicate until they had found their loophole - they were waiting for the WHO to give Covid-19 a particular classification which in the small print meant they didn’t have to provide coverage, despite there being a more obviously written clause that states that cover is provided in the situation of an outbreak of an infectious disease.
Furthermore, they would link problems to coronavirus, regardless of whether they were primary, secondary or even tertiary to the virus and therefore refuse to provide coverage. For example, my mother-in-law to be was terminally ill with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, and so was having to isolate at the original time of our wedding. E&L’s policy is supposed to provide coverage if a member of the wedding party was unable to attend, but in this case they said that in this situation, cancer was not the priority condition and her reason for not being able to attend was because of coronavirus, and so the coverage was not valid.
I cannot stress enough how much I cannot recommend this company. Avoid at all costs.
Horrible company not helpful absolutely…
Horrible company not helpful absolutely useless at processing a claim and take months to pay out but are super fast and excluding stuff from your policy and increasing it ten fold!
So poor
Just awful. Poor communication and severe lack of customer service. Always changing goal posts whilst increasing costs. No interest but to rip you off! STAY WELL CLEAR!
Bye Bye & good riddance.
Dog policy increased by 100% on renewal. Excess doubled to £200.00 and then another excess on top of the excess of 25%.
Not customer focused at all, but very good at ripping you off.
Cancelled policy (admin charge applies), dont' give a damn.
Not worth the paper it’s written on
I have insured my horses for the last 15 years with e and l and as I currently have 4 insurance costs me a reasonable sum every year. The one time I put a claim in for what could have been a colic surgery they wiggled out of it by requesting 5 years of medical records and applying an exemption based on a minor spasm from years earlier. I have decided I will save my money in future and keep an account for potential vet bills. I have paid a much smaller amount to the British horse society for my public liability and personal accident which is a much better cause and had much better reviews. My savings for the next 12 months will pay the vet bill and e and l can swing for it! It’s a no star from me!
I would have given no rating had the…
I would have given no rating had the option been there. I have been with E & L for over 12 years (not continuous), never claimed with them before. Emailed to request a claim form on 7 Jul 20, no response, so rang them 10 Jul, said they would post one out on that date (3 to 5 working days). Rang again today 17 Jul, as still not received. They said they had no control over the post. They said they have emailed one which I will get in 24 - 48 hours. I would certainly not use E & L ever again or recommend them. I am currently a considerable amount out of pocket as I have had to settle my vets bill and awaiting a claim form, not holding my breath they will even settle any of this. Any decent insurance company would give priority to issuing claim forms.
Insured with E&l for some years only…
Insured with E&l for some years only one claim made operation to remove a lump that's it premium was £16 per month now gone up to £42 per month in these times I think that this action is despicable hold your heads in shame company
Been with E&L since my dog was a pup
Been with E&L since my dog was a pup, 12 years and this is only second claim, both times for minor surgery. This time bill was £608, received £296. When I enquired single claim limit was £500, fair enough, £79 excess, ok I accept that but then take a further 35% off. This arbitrary deduction seems based on no other reason that to help reduce their ratings. After 12 years will be looking elsewhere.
