Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful, they have taken over my cat/ pet insurance company and are just using every possible delaying tactic to pay out what is about £200 of a £450 bill. I have checked my policy documents and there is no reason why they should deny the claim. First of all they say they need more info from the vet but won't say what when I say I will chase them (vet hasn't heard from them at all), take 5 days to reply to any email. On raising a complaint which took 5 days for the complaints team to even pick up, after another 5 days the team say they are gathering info and will be in touch (yet more delaying). Prior to them taking over any claim would be dealt with within 10 days if not sooner. I bet if it was the vet they owed it to this would have been settled quicker. I can't even cancel until this matter is sorted. A quick review tells you all these issues are pretty standard for this company. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Rang at 18.58

Rang at 18.58, not realising they shut at 19.00 and the lovely lady Jemma, could not have been more helpful. I felt guilty keeping her busy until nearly 19.15 and nothing was too much trouble for her. Very knowledgeable and professional and a credit to the company. I have used Horse Insurance for over 10 years and on the odd occasion I have made a claim they have paid out with no issues. Great company and competitively priced.

Morally Repugnant Conduct

Having already beat them in Court when the Judge struck their defence out I had a second claim for personal injury. They paid out £67000 in legal costs to defend an £8000 claim. They have tried to strike out my claim for personal injury and paid £17000 in legal fees to try and strike me out. They failed once more when the Court threw out their hopeless Application. They are now going to the Appeal court because they think they know better than the Judge. I now learn of them refusing to pay out for the loss of use of a horse owned by a 14 year old girl. They have been given every bit of evidence they need and again like with me refuse to settle. I have asked them why they cause children to suffer having already lost her forever horse. I was then directed to the company owner one Brian Martin jailed for 3 years for abusing children. No wonder the insurance trade advise not to insure with them because they are not financially safe. They do not use underwriters so if they go bust you are not covered. They were named and shamed on Facebook Dodgy Dealers....take a look at the real responses of horrific experiences and the bogus ones they post to get their ratings up.

15 year old cat insured on a lifetime…

15 year old cat insured on a lifetime policy. Only claimed once in 15 years and they paid shockingly little towards the vet bills and then refused to cover ongoing treatment, calling it preventative...it is yes but it is also the actual treatment too. Devious! The premiums have crept up and up and this week they went up by a third again from £32 to over £42 a month. No compassion or fairness. Just because she is now 15. Where is the lifetime loyalty? So I cancelled the policy and have no cover. Avoid these rip- off merchants with no decency or moral fibre.

Dreadful, avoid at all costs!!

This is a dreadful company who will use any excuse possible not to pay a claim. If you do manage to get them to pay for something then they will quickly exclude that condition from your policy so that you have no cover in the future. I had to spend thousands on my dog for his heart condition and they refused to pay out a single penny as they said the condition was pre-existing, which it wasn't. My dog had previously visited the vet for a cough, nothing to do with his heart. Sadly my dog was put to sleep last week and even in death they are no help and offer zero towards the cost of cremation. Their policies are not worth the paper they are written on. Please do not waste your money with these cowboys, go to a professional company like pet plan who genuinely care for animals and don't try to get out of paying like this bunch of jokers!!

Insurance Emporium AKA Equine &…

Insurance Emporium AKA Equine & Livestock AKA Horse Insurance......They engaged with my vet September 2021 when my horse presented in awful pain as seriously lame. They agreed with the vet to have her put to sleep. Thereafter a claim was made because they had admitted liability. The matter was then passed to their in house lawyer who is an employment manager. She rejected the claim and so I took them to court. She even went to the very top and asked a Kings Counsel to draft a Defence trying to defend the indefensible........On 1.3.23 Judge Nutley in the Milton Keynes Court struck out their Defence as being an "abuse of process." Worthy of note after this person became involved in the claim my vet saw her "Defence Witness" cutting the horse's tail off in order to send to me in the post. Do not hesitate to go to court with this company who push the boundaries when it comes to inhumane conduct to make a profit

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Trading as horse-insurance.co.uk
If you're looking for an insurance company to deal swiftly with your claim, this is not the company. You would think they worked "10 days on ; 10 days off". This is how long it seems to take for them to deal with any information that you submit upon their request.

Most horrendous experience with this…

Most horrendous experience with this company. Had to have horse PTS due to twisted gut caused by colic. Was devastated. Had to chase them constantly to process the claim to be told that they would only pay out partially as my pony was PTS on Humane grounds not Immediate Humane grounds. Apparently I had options! That option was to after 3 hours of suffering and trying what we could do to to flip his gut back, watching him in extreme pain, at 20 years old, I could have driven him an hour and a half to the hospital to most likely have to go through colic surgery (which I had already said I was not willing to put him through). Instead I chose to do the right thing for him and release him from his pain and suffering. I was also told that at 10:30 pm I should have called them (i had tried to call them at 8 pm to find out that they were closed) to notify them of having my pony PTS before the vet went ahead and did it. Just made a bad situation much worse and more traumatic for me than it needed to be :-(

Would never recommend this company

Would never recommend this company. I didn’t know when I took out the policy it was Equine & Livestock Insurance as it came under horse-insurance.co.uk and I had a problem straight away with the pony I bought and didn’t have time to change. I have spent thousands on finding out what’s wrong with the pony and have had a measly £100+ back from them. The problem was never clear, vets never could say what was wrong and even today if you saw the pony you would think nothing is wrong with him. Somethings take a lot of time to pinpoint. Don’t go with them there’s much better companies out there.
