This really is for ANYONE!!!

This was my first LARP ever and I was completely blown away. The workshops were very informational and helped me to be prepared for what was to come. I was very intimidated at first but slipped into my role with ease because of them. I felt assured that there was always someone I could go to if I needed help.

The entire stay, the events and scenes, the meals and accommodations were all well planned and executed. It went so smoothly even given that a lot of play was made up as the event progressed. I feel very lucky to have been a part of it and will definitely be going back.

In retrospect, the one bit of information that I wish I solidly knew without a doubt beforehand is that this really is for anyone. Introvert, extrovert, ambivert, shy, outgoing, talks a lot, talks a little or not at all, socially awkward or a social butterfly...you can be and identify with anything and still have a special place here.

This was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I had never LARPed before and wasn't entirely sure what I was getting myself into, but I enjoyed myself so much that I am already planning on returning next year!

I really don't know how to convey how truly amazing this experience was! The castle and setting is spectacular. The food and living accommodation is great. And the event itself is second to none!

College of Wizardry 17

This was my first LARP ever - and I don't think it could have been any better.

Those three days have been some of the most intense and emotional ones of my life! I laughed, I cried, I was scared shitless. I explored some darker sides of myself through my character, I lived the loyalty and protectiveness that is part of me. I relived the fears of my school time, of not being accepted into a group, I was taught that reaching out helps to prevent that! I fought epic battles, I banned demons, I made a Zombie sing a classic song. I took part in rituals, I loved my brother with ferocity, I found a lovely date for the great ball (and I totally rocked that dress!). I danced with fearies, I sacrificed a spirit (sorry for that!). I challenged a teacher, used a forbidden spell and got seriously beaten up. I had hysterical breakdowns, I offered comfort, I gained trust and shared secrets myself. I made friend with unexpected people. I helped to safe a werewolf, I loved a vampire girl. My character grew and I hope some of that growing will be what I can keep for myself after the game.

The Czocha team did a stellar job providing what we needed for a great game. The NPC and props they came up with, the special effects and preparations made the game real in a way I would never have thought possible. (Yeah it DOES help your imagination along when you throw a fireball at someone and there is actually fire!)

I thought LARP was about acting, about playing to be someone else.

I would not have thought that it would mean to BE someone else. To cry real tears, to feel real fears, to experience what you are doing on a level so deep and true that it hurts.

I came out of these days with something like sore muscles, just for the soul (and some nice new bruises for the body), but that will heal.

It will take me some time to process what the f** happened – there were so many things going on that it was hard to keep up with even half of it! (And I was afraid to be bored on Saturday cause I had not planned anything! HA!)

Well, in short: I had a blast. :) It will take some time to wrap my head around that level of awesomeness! #CoW17

This has exceeded all my expectations, and those were not low. I thought it would be an amazing experience, but it was more than that. I loved every moment and I'll surely go back again. The castle and the location are magical in itself, the people are amazingly friendly and open, players, organizers and volunteers alike.

As a first time LARPer, I never imagined this experience was going to be so real. It was beyond my imagination even with all the fantastic literature I keep track of for more than 17 years.

The castle is perfect but people make the magic real. The atmosphere is so intense that you feel like you are really in a magical world.

Thank you Dziobak and all the players for creating this awesome experience.

The reactivity of the team to the craziest demands during the game and the diversity of plots created by the players... Am I the only one thinking this castle is a character on its own?

College of Wizardy 17

This was my first ever LARP and I was a little bit apprehensive about traveling across the world to try it. I ended up going with my partner and a friend and we all had a blast! The entire weekend was packed and by the end I was super exhausted, but it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Saturday night alone I took part in scenes that ranged from summoning a dragon out of the headmistress in a dungeon (of this real freaking castle!!!), to dancing with a fey goddess in the woods, to a masquerade in the library. It was absolutely wonderful and I look forward to coming back in the future.

College Wizardry was certainly an experience I won't be forgetting soon. I'm exhausted but happy I did it, and normal life feels drab and boring at the moment. Definitely going back if I have the money.

Only real negatives are the somewhat supar food (as a vegetarian, there were things to eat, but some meals lacked protein, the situation has apparently been slowly improving, though), and slightly long response times on some items, such as room assignments.

Unique, interesting and immersive experience.

The only negative comment I would have, props (like wands or etc) should be brought with anticipation, that there is a hight chance of them breaking, falling or etc. Due to active nature of the event, there will be moments, where you will through things, fall on the ground or etc. OR NPC should be warned before hand about prop sensitivity.

Have been to their events twice now

Have been to their events twice now. It's so amazing that I have thought it worth to spend the money again. Even if the idea of the event may scare you, trust me it is worth it. When I first heard of it I didn't want to go because I thought I would be too anxious to participate. Basically this is one big "audience participation" event where the show actually involves you and I am scared of that kind of thing. If you are too anxious you can opt out and everyone is instructed to follow your wish, you will not be pressured. But the event is so much fun you will want to be involved with everything. Their marketing is true, if you want to feel like you are inside of a movie, that is what this is like. Because everyone wants to create an environment where comedy and drama happens, this kind of thing happens everywhere you walk.

The only unfortunate thing about this event is it is almost impossible to explain to your coworkers what you did over your vacation.

This LARP was my first and it most definitely won’t be my last!
Every single person from the other students, professors, goblins and Non player characters were so nice! Each of the plot lines were amazing, and even if you didn’t have a story line in at a certain time, you can be guaranteed that you would be pulled into another one.
The castle is amazing with the fantastic scenery and hidden passage ways, from doing classes in the tower for invocation or doing a ritual magic class in the court year.
It was an absolutely amazing experience and I advise everyone who is apprehensive to go, you won’t regret it!

Love,

Arabella

College of Wizardry 16

At first, my friends and I were very skeptical about attending College of Wizardry. We have never been in a LARP before, and it's a big step to take a flight to a different country and have your first LARP ever in a castle, while the whole thing is not cheap at all.
Now, I can't say College of Wizardry is expensive, as it is worth every last cent it costs. I had an amazing time at Czocha Castle, enjoying every moment of running around the castle, searching for secret passageways, trying to avoid teachers after curfew and attending secret rituals. CoW gives you a window to escape reality for a few days, and I believe saying that I've deliberately slept less than 5 hours per night in order to experience it all - says everything.

Putting the amazing scenery and adventures of the in-game experience aside, the organizers themselves were amazing too. Personally, I had a quite difficult off-game experience that led me to be absent for a few hours of gameplay, and the organizers and "off-game" personnel did everything they could in order to help me resolve my situation and lessen my loss of experience. I felt everyone tried their best to make this huge and crazy experience as much fun as possible.

I totally recommend attending CoW, I am pretty sure I will attend it at least a second time, it's enthralling, addicting and most of all - fun.

The most immersive larping experience

The most immersive larping experience. Very good organisation. They propose an optional character background and personality for everyone. It's great for those like me who don't really know what type of character they want to play. In play, you meet with the members of your house, path and club. That gives you an easy connection to a lot of other players and opens a bunch of doors for roleplay opportunities. There is a schedule completely filled for each day to make sure you don't get boerd. Then you can add the fact that it takes place in a real castle. It is for sure the best larp I have been to.
