I contacted Steve about a pen I wanted to sell. He replied within couple of hours and after receiving my pictures he made me an offer. The overall transaction was completed by 1 pm on Tuesday and the whole experience has been totally stress free and super efficient.

Superb experience. Using WhatsApp, I was able to upload photos of pens to sell and receive a very quick and professional response from Steve, resulting in a competitive offer which I accepted. I received payment very promptly (within minutes of delivery reaching its destination). I will certainly use Dylanstephenpens again.

Absolutely brilliant service from Steve, and so very quick. From initial WhatsApp chat on Thursday lunchtime, through agreeing great deal later that day, I posted the pens on Friday. The money appeared in my bank account on Saturday morning as he was typing to say all good. I could not recommend him enough.

A great experience selling a few pens. Emailed in to get a price, agreed a fair and reasonable amount. Posted, received next day and monies in my account within half a day. Correspondence was handled in a professional and friendly manner. I have no hesitation recommending for the future.

Excellent customer service

I ordered a 1990s Montblanc 149 from Dylan Stephens Pens. It was posted promptly and arrived the next working day.

I had been a little unsure before hand because the pictures on the website looked like the gold plating on the clip and band might be slightly chipped but Steve assured me via WhatsApp that wasn't the case and indeed when the pen arrived it was utterly pristine save for some dried ink in the pen that needed to be cleaned.

Unfortunately after cleaning and filling the pen I discovered that there was a small amount of ink seeping through a seem in the grip. A look online shows this isn't entirely uncommon on older model 149s but I messaged Steve with a video showing the issue and he instantly agreed to my choice of replacement or exchange (exchange being subject to availability of similar items).

I can't fault Steve for the issue with the pen, these things happen especially when purchasing used items. What stands out is how quickly and professionally he sought to resolve the issue. If only everyone offered this level of customer service.

--- UPDATE: Possibly reselling pens known to be faulty

While my experience with Dylan Stephens was excellent, I was concerned to discover that after returning the leaky pen it was immediately relisted and resold. I found out when I spotted someone celebrating their New Pen Day on r/fountainpens and recognised the description and box. After talking with the Reddit poster we were able to confirm it was the same pen.

I want to give Dylan Stephens the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it was a common issue that they have the knowledge and experience to resolve quickly (the Reddit poster never confirmed with me whether he was able to replicate the issue I had), though I would then ask why they didn't suggest that they might be able to fix the pen when I first raised the issue with them.

This is our second business interaction with Steve and what makes him stand out is his trustworthiness and responsiveness. Thank you Steve for the ease of our transactions and prompt responses to questions or concerns.
