A totally different approach

A totally different approach to the English learning stuff and to be honest the most accurate and revealing one I've ever got. Combined with Julian's EES course, it's, in my opinion, the most effective way to make you a real English speaker.

MEFA is just outrageous in a way you can't imagine. I can't be grateful enough for the chance Julian gave me. It was a life-changing event that is beautifully organized. MEFA is a systematic way of becoming an extraordinary English speaker. Thanks to MEFA, I have been successful in changing my own habits and improving my English, of course. I highly recommend MEFA if you've been struggling in improving your English.

It's a great beginning for your journey to become an advanced English speaker!

You shouldn't expect that by the end of this course, you will immediately become an extraordinary English speakers if you don't spend much effort and time consistently applying what you have learned. However, it's a great beginning for your journey to become an advanced English speaker.

You will find your investment into the course worthwhile since you will be provided and experienced a number of interesting ways of thinking and "doing" English in real life. I am really persuaded by Julian's brilliant ways to raise issues and use research-based and scientific facts to support his arguments. Even with the concepts that I have already known, I still have chance to think over them and have deeper understanding through what Julian presented.

I will give the course 4 stars and reserve 1 star for the wish that Julian could do something stronger to motivate (and even force) a busy person like me to spend more time and effort on the course (though I know it's my choice, not his fault).

Anyway, I still strongly recommend that intermediate learners take the course. Again, it is just the beginning (but the right beginning). If you want to improve your English, you need to persistently use methods mentioned in the course, change your ineffective learning habits and move towards.

Good luck!

MEFA is different from any other course…

MEFA is different from any other course I've made. It's like coaching, and it's amazing! It's not only to learn a language, it's something you can implement for a lot of things in your life. Here are some things that were very important to me during our process together.

I developed the habit of self-observation and realize that I need to change a lot of things that hold me back. It's difficult because I need to change my mindset. I'm still working on it since now I'm aware of what makes me unconfident.

My learning becomes more two-track oriented because I've learned that I need to put weight on intensive learning, but also in relaxed exposure. I've accepted the idea of enjoying what I do in English and understand its importance.

I've grown a habit of learning and using English leaving my comfort zone. I understood that it's very important to see the big picture, learning the language, having knowledge and culture instead of focusing only on grammar and vocabulary.

More than learning a new method and improving in a new language, Julian teaches how to change your mindset, your habits, your attitude, and your behavior. His approach gives me what I need to be more goal-oriented. He taught me what materials I need to use and that I need to make English a part of my life. Highly Recommend. :)

Lots of new angles throughout the course.

I thought that memorizing more vocabulary and using complicated grammar rules would lead me to speak fluently in English. That’s everything I’d thought the only way to advance my English. It turns out I am getting nowhere.

Julian’s course goes deep to explain how English works. It’s a great way to horn my skill in English. The 12 week-long lessons provide new knowledge to me more than I’d expected before I signed up for the course. Highly Recommend!

Julian changes my idea about how a good English speaker should be and draws us the essential elements that compose a good speaker and a communication of good quality. It leads me to a more efficient and effective way to improve myself in English. I also got prompt and sufficient response/feedbacks from Julian during the sessions, which really helped a lot.

Many thanks to MEFA.

This course not only has improved my English skills but also has changed the way I live. Julian has taught me a lot, such as finding the right way and the right materials to learn English.
My life is not as stressful as it used to be. I used to sit in front of the computer like 24/7 and try to study English the whole day. If I didn't learn something new about English, I would get panic at the end of the day. Now I study English only for about a half-hour after I get up every day, but it's more efficient.
I will keep following Julian's method. It really works!

About EES

After completing the MEFA course, it seemed natural to me to join the Extraordinary English Speakers group: as I said before, Julian's coaching and the material provided had been extremely effective for me during the MEFA course. After a few months in the EES group, I can say that it was definitely worth it. Learning a language is an endless process and I could stay in the community forever, so that all I'll have to do is continue making the most of the material and guidance provided: definetely very convenient and practical.

Julian you are one of the best English teachers, after I finished MEFA I wasn't planning to join EES but the way I improved at the end of the course made me think that I have to do that and here I am .
I can say it's an amazing English materials for everyone who wants to improve his speaking skills.
And Julian not only a teacher, he's a great friend also.
I have to admit that being with your students during the pandemic for last three months and the advices that you shared with us in (Lockdown Lifestyle) for 3 days was something special indeed, so thank you Julian..

MEFA

Coaching sounds weird when talking about learning English but Julian teaches much more than a language. It's a whole communication analysis which will totally change your relationship with every single social moment. I want more!

Thanks so much, Rytas!

My decision to become a "coach" rather than a "teacher" was, yes, perhaps an odd one. But I firmly believe that in this information age the role of teachers has changed completely - teachers tell you what to learn (normally from useless textbooks and based on what the THINK is right...), but give very little guidance in how to actually take control of your own learning, or how to use any of what you learn effectively to improve your life.

I talk in detail about the value of coaching (instead of traditionally taught classes) in my free Rocket Launch Method training:

The best learning approach I ever met!

If you have put a lot of effort into studying grammar rules but don't have any improvement. Please join Julian!
If you have tried to remember more and more vocabulary but you finally realized that you cannot use it in your daily life. Please join Julian!

Have you wondered why your English doesn't have any breakthroughs?
Same approach, same result!

I can say that this course is the best I ever joined

The course presents deep knowledge and…

The course presents deep knowledge and background regarding the linguistics theory behind Julian's advices. Also it offers interesting strategies to improve your English. The four stars is just because I felt that the exercise's feedback could be a bit more focused, for instance saying exactly why we did that and how it can help us improve. Also, if you want to take the course, BE AWARE that you won't have real time conversation in the course (there are the weekly calls, but it's just to solve your specific doubts). You have to have it in mind before taking the course. I do recommend it to improve your spoken English, if the cost is not a big deal for your, for me it was a somehow expensive (I'm from Brazil), but it really depends on your currency value.

Thanks Julian.

Thanks, Mikelli!
It was a pleasure to have you on the course.

"I felt that the exercise's feedback could be a bit more focused, for instance saying exactly why we did that and how it can help us improve"

This is interesting: normally I get the opposite comment; that I go into too much depth with the feedback. I usually explain the purposes of each week's homework at the beginning of the feedback recording (especially in the first batch), then go through each person's task. Is it possible you were skipping to your own section each time? In which case, maybe you would miss it.

Also, the "why" of the homework is explained in the session (it's what the sessions are about). Importantly, you also didn't mention this in the discussion group or in the weekly calls?

This said, point taken - I'll maybe make it more explicit in the future if other people feel the same.

"BE AWARE that you won't have real-time conversation in the course"

This is correct.

One of the first things I'll teach you in the course is why pointless "chatting" for "practise" is very ineffective for higher-level learners for building fluency in the real world (and I teach what you should be doing instead).

Worth every penny

If you are wondering whether this course is for you or not, but your "wild self", as I like calling is, says "do it", just trust Julian as I did.
Just do it. These 12 weeks have changed me immensely.

I've learned I can create time. I've learned there is no magic. No law of attraction, only law of attention. It all comes down to how much effort - and passion - you put in whatever you do.

We sometimes are too blind to realize our life is in our hands, because no one teaches us that. Unless we are really lucky. And we just let time pass, passively, without being aware of our actions.

I highly recommend this course especially to non-native ESL teachers like me. Not only have I got amazing insights into how the brain of a learner works, which has allowed me to create much more effective lessons and put myself in your student's shoes more easily, but I've experienced a shift in my mindset.Julian has helped me turn my "flaws" into my success. and I know, from now on it can only be better

Just one last thing. Open up. If you don't open up, nobody can help you.
Gilda
