After a few months after MEFA and EES I can say that it still works for me. I can recognize good learning materials (and the toxic ones, like lessons in my own language) and use them to improve my English.

But be warned, once you leave the EES, you need a lot more self-motivation to keep a daily learning rhythm. It's just easier with a group.

I think it's worth it, but MEFA is for independent people so you have to make your own decision anyway. :-)

Excellent course, I could break many paradigms about how to learn English.

First of all, I would like to thank Dr.Julian and Assistant Kim.

I would like to write about how good it was to take this course.

We have homework every week. I found it difficult for me. But that homework changed me. Julian will always give us honesty feedback who help our next tasks.

By looking back at Julian's weekly lessons over and over, I learned how to stay motivated to break through the status quo.

MEFA does not teach grammar or English phrases like other English schools.

MEFA is a philosophy. You can understand why you are learning English through his philosophy.

Believe in yourself. Let's open the door yourself.

Incredible lessons!! It helped me to get rid of my bad English learning habits and build a correct learning attitude and habit.

It's an awesome course, British stories . You don't need to go to Great Britain to get acquaintance to culture.

The course is amazing! Not only full of high quality English material, but a communication course in general. It changes the way you think about the language, your choices and your motivations. Be ready for very intensive homeworks (it's true, you have to put a lot of effort to make up for your investment) and some major mind changes. Fear not and go ahead!

This is just an amazing program and platform if you really want to improve on things you already know, get more confidence and understanding in what you're doing well and where you can improve.... and hell yeah, you'll learn a whole lot of new and very useful stuff as well.

I've been living in the UK for 8 years now and when I first moved here my English wasn't very good, I only knew the basics like numbers or how to say hello etc...I came across Julian's course and it literally changed my life. I have never bothered to say thank you to him up until now but in case you read this, Thank you Julian, nowadays people even think I'm English; when I tell them where I'm from and how long I've been here for they ask me how did you even learn English so well and they're amazed by it because many foreigners here after 8 years can't even speak like I do.

I experienced a great change of my negative habit about English through the MEFA course. Julian's sessions are always deep and it's totally different from common type of "English lesson". Also he is a linguistic professional and all what he tells us are persuasive. MEFA helps us to change our mind from the bottom for 'doing' English.

MEFA is not the magic pill that can immediately change your English level, but still an amazing course I've ever had!

I love doing EES lessons you give us per week. It gives you the best quality material you can implement into your life conversation.

The course has changed what I thinking about learning English in the correct way. Also, taught me how to build "good" learning English habits.

I had expectations on the MEFA course but It's been even better than expected. Forget about traditional English lessons, this is another thing. Open your mind, be constant, work hard...it works. During this 12 weeks I've learned how wrong I've been all my life about learning English.

Of course, best for learning English but actually for all aspect of your life will improve if you can take sincerely.
The construction of lessons is wonderful. Every chunk listed up is able to print out, available to download each lessens. The organization is tidy and strict so you can not be lazy. Highly recommended for intermediate English user.

I want to thank Julian for the course, I recommend it 100%. The course has changed my way of thinking about how to improve my English. It is not a magic course, it is an intense course that requires work, dedication and study, in which you not only learn how to improve your English, but also teach you other aspects of life and I can guarantee that you will not regret it. to take it.

Wow! 12 weeks have gone like the wind. That was educative, fun and most importantly a lot of work. Especially the first three weeks were mind shifting for me. I learned how English is tied to my personal life through my personality, my values, my anxieties. It was huge to learn how they are all connected and works together. Once I digested the core concepts, the rest became much easier. I started to feel the change of my mindset.

MEFA helped me to understand not only language learning related topics but also discover many insights about myself. With a fresh viewpoint, I could engineer my personality from different aspects. The more I deep dived inside myself the more basic pieces I found out about my worldview.

In short, I got a great guide to keep getting better and better.

Now, if you're here and reading this, you most probably already know that traditional English education system is crap. But you don't know where to start or what to change. I can say you simply have two options:
A) Stay in Wonderland and keep repeating your old bad learning habits with the expectation of someday they'll give you different results .
B) Join Julian and watch him show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Warning! This course is not magic, you have to put really hard work into it if you want to get the full benefit. But I can guarantee you that with right methods, right materials and right tools you'd overcome all difficulties in your fluency journey.

It was indeed a great course. The way you designed and delivered it, was awesome Julian! I really enjoy all the journey, in particular your homework feedback! You were always right 😉. Anyway! it was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to see you again in another course!

By participating in MEFA, I've done the best for myself. Julian helped me to solve the main problems about speaking English, while I was still thinking the problem is just about grammar or vocabulary. Now I have a very different point of view and I know how I can grow my English day by day. I highly recommend MEFA if you want to take a huge step forward in speaking English.

Taking this course is one of the best decisions in my education path. This is where you really know how to learn the right Enlish. And at the end of the course, you won't be confused about anything related to English.

1. To my mind, Julian Northbrook’s MEFA is an English learning program that focuses on a mix of applied linguistics and confidence principles to build up the students’ attitude and a roadmap to learn and use English in daily life.
2. It also gives you some materials and shows you how to approach a text to extract chunks (words customarily used in fixed phrases or expressions) to enrich your vocabulary and make your English sound more natural.
3. It’s a 12-week course that has to do with how you face the acquisition, the apprenticeship of a new language. It offers an approach we don’t see, unfortunately, in traditional English teaching. But that's just a nutshell.

I’m so glad that I enrolled in MEFA. It’s such an amazing course. I was stuck at the same English level for so long and couldn’t find a better way to improve my English. Thanks to Julian’s wonderful approach, I’ve got a different perspective of learning English. I know how to get better in conversation and become more confident when speaking English. :)

MEFA was a wonderful journey for me. I’m so glad that I joined this course. What I’ve learnt is far more than English learning skills. The most important is the concept about throwing away mental baggages and bad habits. After the 90 day journey, I become more confident about speaking English.
