Booked through a friends…

Booked through a friends recommendation. The driver arrived 00.45sm to collect us to La Zenia. He dropped us at the apartment, the following morning a driver collected us and we collected the car. Dave was honest and open. Gave us advice and recommendations of where to visit. We had all paperwork and insurance. We dropped the car off 8 days later villa Martin 04.45am and the transfer driver was waiting. Excellent no hassle company. Would recommend . True the cars are older, however if you have visited this coast line then you know parking is tight and beaches can be off road parking. Thank you Dave see you soon. Highly recommend if you don’t want ripping off.

Villa martin budget car hire and transfer

Just come back from Villa martin, rented car from d and m, they told me the cars were old, no aircon , they told me this when I was booking, so cheep absolutely fantastic airport service to, on time reliable, I will definitely use them next time, for all you who have left bad feedback, what do you expect for a fantastic price, this is very good budget price car hire and airport transport, so please don't take notice of the bad reviews, this is a good local Villamartin car hire, fantastic! Barry studholme.

Unreliable

Booked through a friend and having used this company once before all was well then. The second time however, whilst we were collected from the airport, nobody came to take us back as arranged. No one was around when we tried to call to find out were they where. We frantically had to try to get a couple of last minute taxis in a storm, which proved difficult and only just made our flight which wouldn't have been possible had we only had hand luggage and no check in. Never been as stressed in my life. Since heard by another they've not turned up before when taking back to airport. Don't rely on them, horrendous experience.

Unreliable

Unreliable - left for a few hours at airport for pick up and had to phone to ask where they were. Very old cars that have a screw for window control, exhaust loose, bumper hanging off and flapping if you drove over 40mph. Witnessed people in office collecting cars to be told there was no car. A completely chaotic firm. Told our car would be ready at 11am next day. Eventually got it 1.30pm. When you try to explain you are concerned about airport drop off as they are late for everything you are met with sarcasm from owner. Terrible experience.

I have just read a review on Costa Blanca Forum where a member explained their horrendous experience. This firm sounds awful and I for one won't be using them

Dave has been very reliable for us

Dave has been very reliable for us. We once had a car that wasn’t running well, so he brought us another one, no fuss. We’ve hired several different cars with the airport transfers. All good. His prices are fair and he can be busy, so book well in advance.

Why does the TP headline show 3 stars-one is too many!?

My experience is exactly the same as those detailed in the other reviews,
This is a dreadful company with an obnoxious owner (Dave) who has no idea of customer service.
Hire cars were in short supply in Sep 2021 and the larger hire companies were booked solid. But D&M said they would have one available for my dates. So I booked It (well in advance as it happens) to run from 8 Sep 2021 for 6 weeks.
I arrived at my destination in the Costa Blanca a day early in my Motorhome. I phoned D&M on 7 Sep to ask if the car was available - if so I would have it a day early and pay for the extra day. Dave answered the phone but said it wasn't available yet. Fair enough I said - my booking wasn't due to start until the following day.
I asked what time I could collect it the next day and he said early afternoon but to call first just to confirm it had been returned by the previous renter.
I duly called on Sep 8 only to be told the vehicle had to go to the garage for a repair and wouldn't be available until the following day. I wasn't too pleased but was polite about it and said something like 'these things happen'.
I called the day after (Sep 9) and was told it wasn't back from the garage yet. I called again a few hours later and spoke to him again. He said he was just driving back to the office and he would know more when he got back. Tried to call a few more times but although his phone rang he didn't pick up.
So I called from a different phone and he picked up straightaway. He was surprised it was me and started to get rattled. I wasn't rude but was firm in asking what was going on, when would he be able to provide a car etc.
To cut a long story short, he then got very stroppy. Said he couldn't provide a car he didn't have etc. Admitted he had 9 customers waiting for cars. I asked him where I was on the list and he said, rudely, 'at the bottom'. Said he couldn't give me a date when I would get a car and put the phone down abruptly.
At the time there were no alternative cars available from any other companies in the area. So I messaged him and asked him not to let me down. He replied saying he would let me know when he had a car.
Never heard from him again!
In retrospect and IMHO this is a company, run on a shoestring, that takes whatever bookings it can, irrespective of whether it can meet the demand. If customers are let down, the company/ owner doesn't give a jot.
I dread to think how many folk have been left in the lurch by D&M. My advice - don't contemplate using them. Not worth the risk of being left stranded at the airport or wherever.

This company isn’t even worth a star

This company isn’t even worth a star. We booked our car hire and airport transfer from the UK in advance hoping to use a small local company instead of the usual big names. We were collected as planned at 11.15am from the airport to be told that there wasn’t a car for us straight away and that we would be taken to our accommodation and we would get a call once the car had been sanitised after return. We had an appointment to get to for 4pm so I informed our driver of this. By 2.30pm and having our calls and messages unanswered I attended the office near Villamartin Plaza. Here we met the most obnoxious and arrogant Dave the owner of D and M cars. We enquired about our car to be told there wasn’t one. When we asked why he couldn’t have told us in advance he said there might be one available the next day. I politely reminded him that we had booked it for today to be told that we were lucky he had picked us up from the airport at all. Staggered by this response we asked why we couldn’t have been informed earlier. Before I finished my next sentence he waved his arms around and said there’s no car hire at all for you it’s cancelled.

We walked away from this without further confrontation. This man is a disgrace to the car hire profession. I sincerely hope that other people take note of this and avoid him like the plague. We thought after the problems that the corona virus had caused small and local businesses that we would go with a local firm to help them get their business going again rather than our usual centauro hire. How wrong we were.

A deceptive company that sells…

A deceptive company that sells everything from cat things to bras and other rubbish .. I am furious at how well it is presented on Facenbook and will from today date recommend that you investigate thrush pilot with everything from their second breeds to their name. then it will appear that they are cheaters and cheating people for money .. pigs are what they are ..

CAR HIRE - STAY AWAY

We were recommended this company by a friend who lives in Spain. So we booked to hire a car on 28th March 2019. We went to collect the car on the 1st day of our holiday (4th August at 11.30 am)only to be told that the car had a problem and was being looked at in the garage. Fair enough, wouldnt want a dodgy car. Debbie one of the owners told us to go and have a coffee and come back in an hour. Ok, that's fine we said. Came back an hour later only to be told "I said I would ring you when its ready", she didn't. We hung around for 1.45 hours until the other owner Dave said he would drive us back to our apartment which was a couple of miles away. Anyway, the car was fixed and we collected it (by this time it was 4pm and a day wasted). The 2nd day of our holiday we just relaxed by the pool. 3rd day we had planned to go on a trip to St. Miguel only to find that there was a big water leak from the engine (which was supposed to have been fixed) so we drove it back to the office.(Turned out to be an oil leak!!) Well, the reaction from the managers was not what I was expecting. Dave said it would have to go back to the garage. I asked if they had another car for us. No! I asked how long it would take to fix "How would I know" was the reply. I told him we had now wasted 2 days of our holidays going backwards and forwards to the office. "What do you want me to do" he said. I said I would like a replacement car, "We haven't got one and you will have to make your mind up what you wanna do" was the next reply. Get my money back I said!! I have hired cars before in Spain and I can honestly say this was the worst I have ever encountered. They have ZERO customer care and I will spread the word to friends and family who hire cars in Spain NOT to use this company. They just did not give a toss about ruining our holiday which we have saved up all year to go away. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY..........
