Shoddy Sales Tactics, Fake Warranty and Unroadworthy Cars
If I could give minus stars I would, a Freelander 2 purchase where from day 1 there was nothing short of diabolical sales tactics, hidden costs and mechanical faults all around.
Car was sold with "3 months warranty" which you actually couldnt get unless you paid for a service with the dealership. This should have been my first indication to walk away but alas it gets much much worse.
The car was sold with MAJOR mechnical faults including but not limited to the following needing to be replaced:
Steering rack
Both CV joints
Both front wheel bearings
Tir rods
Driveshaft
Two brake pipes
All brakes and pads
All of which I had to pay all or the majority of costs for with the dealership (or a 3rd party when I had lost patience with their poor labour)
The car broke down on 3 occassions, needing a recovery truck and the last time was a complete gearbox failure. The "fix" by the dealership was for me pay AGAIN for a gearbox service and again for a warrant to cover anymore issues
The gearbox service was never completed and the car is again off the road, the warranty policy or information was never provided. They have taken the money and refusing the refund or provide any proof or work or existence of the warranty.
