This company is dishonest

This company is dishonest. They charge you a $28 fee to issue a request to unlock your phone because they come up number one in Google search results, which causes people to click on it unnecessarily rather than going to a TNT to do the unlock properly. They wait two days and say that your phone cannot be unlocked with a regular unlock code, which is a lie because the phone comes up to an unlock code screen. Now they want $151 to unlock the phone using your remote technician. This whole site is a scam and they should be taken off the internet because all it is is luring people in who are eager to get their phone unlocked and don't discern that it is not the actual carrier that they are dealing with.

I paid and service never peovided and never refunded

Based on my personal experience, I believe DirectUnlocks is just a bunch of scammers and frauds

I paid $78 for an unlocking service. After taking my payment, I was repeatedly asked for additional payments instead of receiving the service that was advertised. Despite complying with their instructions, the service was never provided.

When I requested a refund, I was not offered a refund to my original payment method. Instead, I was offered only a credit note for a service that I never received.

The customer support experience is just a scam and shit. My questions have not been answered, and I have repeatedly received what appear to be generic, automated AI-generated responses that do not address the evidence or the specific issues I raised. It feels as though no one is actually reviewing my case.

I have now escalated this matter to my bank and am pursuing complaints with the relevant consumer protection authorities.

Please be careful they afe just scammers. They are the worst service ever been.

As an update, i triggered a chargeback by bank and it's under investigation also to block this merchant due to too kuch detected scams.

FYI they might send you false notification for refund but its fake and will never refund you.And real and bunch of AI just responds you.

Be careful also.. most of the good reviews are here for this merchant is by bots and by them.

MISLEADING MARKETING: FRAUD and THEFT!!!!

I went today to unlock my old Mobile Wifi Mini and the whole thing was oriented to make you believe you were paying for that. There is only a smaller font (in between brackets) sentence saying "Elegibility check" on the payment section.

This is a CLEAR EXAMPLE of MISLEADING MARKETING!!.
Once you pay for that, the next step to unlock it is to PAY £30 to unlock it.
My device is not worth that, so imagine my face.

DISHONEST PEOPLE.
If you want to make things clear is very easy: make a colorful warnings to explain you will have to pay £30 afterwards, which is nowhere in the initial page.

This is a way of STEALING PEOPLE'S MONEY!!! Disgusting service.

Transparency Matters: Honest Feedback

I'm not asking for a refund, but I do think you need to be more transparent with your customers.

If a second payment is required, that should be be stated clearly and prominently on the purchase page, not buried in the disclaimers. Even your Step 1, 2, and 3 process doesn't mention it.

It's not a coincidence that so many people have raised the same concern, yet nothing seems to change. If I were the CEO and focused on customer satisfaction, I'd see this as a huge red flag, about as big as the Empire State Building.

Another major red flag is that it's almost impossible to find a negative review on your own review pages. On top of that, from the U.S., your website currently doesn't even allow users to leave reviews.

These are all warning signs. If you want to build a reputable company instead of making customers feel misled, I would strongly encourage you to take this feedback seriously. Transparency builds trust; hiding important information destroys it.

Good luck.

Hi — Charlotte here. Thanks for the frank feedback and I’m sorry you felt misled.

Quick status: your order (placed Jul 11, 2026) shows you’ve paid $24.99 for the Eligibility Check and the $54.00 unlocking payment is still required. Please initiate that payment via your Tracking page to proceed.

A couple of clarifications from our terms:
- “Eligibility Check: These checks are non‑refundable.”
- “There may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase.”
- Also for Android: “An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code when an incompatible sim card is placed in the device.” If your A15 doesn’t prompt for a code a Remote USB unlock may be needed at extra cost.

I hear you about transparency and review options — I’ll pass your concerns to the team. If you want, I can walk you through making the $54 payment on your Tracking page or check why any extra service might be required.

Hidden fees are a joke they reel you in…

Hidden fees are a joke they reel you in with a low price and to complete the transaction they then tell you a further much bigger fee which forces you to pay for a code to unlock the phone, which by the way never appeared. So a complete waste of money and time. So £50 out of pocket which they then tell you fees are not refundable

Hi — I’m really sorry this was such a frustrating experience.

A couple of important points from our policies that explain what happened: our Terms & Conditions say “there may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase” and “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” Our Refund Policy also notes: “No Unlocking Code Prompt: No refund if you purchased an unlocking code, but your Android phone doesn't prompt for a code when using an incompatible sim card.”

To look into this for you I need your IMEI — without that I can’t find your order. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page and send your IMEI there so I can review the order and advise next steps (where eligible we can issue a credit note per our terms).

Thanks — Charlotte

They are scanners

They are scanners, they advertised unlocking your phone for £14.95 but in small print that's apparently just the cost to see if your phone is eligible (bollocks) they then say oh yes it is and we want £45 to unlock it

Hi — I’m really sorry this has left you feeling ripped off. I can see why you’re angry.

To explain what happened: the £14.99 you paid was an Eligibility Check, which is a separate service to the actual unlock. As our Terms state, “Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order,” and our Refund Policy is clear that “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.” If an unlock is required after the check, a further payment is needed (your order currently shows “Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of £42.00”).

If you want to proceed, please initiate the unlocking payment via your Tracking page. If you prefer, I can double-check your order status and confirm whether a Premium Service is required — let me know and I’ll look into it. They are still lying and stealing

Here they come again with false promises of contacting me here on Trust pilot. They won't respond or contact me. This is all a ruse for the people that will read these reviews.
And again, to highlight their incompetence, I do not have a Galaxy J3, of which I have told them numerous times, I have a Galaxy A3 5G. A phone with a completely different format then the older J3.
I have given them the original IMEI, clearly as stated in the review and they still ask for the IMEI on their response.
Again they say they will escalate the case to support, of which they won't because there is no way of proving it on Trust pilot of them escalating it without an email to my email, of which they won't do!
None of this matters, the fact still remains, if you use Direct Unlocks they will steal your hard earned money and lie to you through an AI chat bot, no humans, just a well crafted high tech scammer system supported by the very platforms that they use (Google, Edge). Why, because that have to pay this companies to use their platforms to rob people, period!

Hi — I’m really sorry you’ve had this experience, and I understand how frustrating that must feel.

Quick summary of your order so we’re on the same page: you paid €26.99 + €15.99 (Eligibility Checks) and €50 (Standard Unlock), order placed 23 Sep 2025, status: Hard‑Locked, and a credit note was issued.

Per our terms: "Any unlocks which come back as Hard‑Locked by the network will be refunded in the form of a Credit Note, due to the amount of work required in attempting to perform this unlock." Also, "Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service, and for any device - simply click 'Use Credit Note' on the checkout page when purchasing."

What I can do right now:
- Escalate your case to our Specialist Team to reopen support and correct the IMEI if it was our error.
- Offer to apply your credit note toward a Remote USB unlock for your Samsung Galaxy J3 (Remote USB is the usual route for Samsung devices and, if it fails, "Remote USB Unlocks will be refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device").

Please reply here with your order number and the correct IMEI (and the email you used) and I’ll escalate immediately and get someone to contact you directly.

Hi — I’m really sorry you’ve had a frustrating experience. I can assure you we’re a legitimate service: as our Terms state, “All of the services offered on this website are entirely legal in Europe and North America.”

Sometimes extra payments are requested because the device needs a different service type (for example, a Remote USB or a Premium Service). As our Terms explain, “An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code when an incompatible sim card is placed in the device,” and initial checks or upgrades can incur additional, non‑refundable costs. At the same time, if “having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you’ll be refunded.”

We don’t have your IMEI or order reference here — that’s required to investigate your case. Without that we can’t address your specific concerns. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply with your IMEI and order number so we can look into this and make it right.

Hi — Charlotte here, thanks for the great review! I’m glad your Telstra unlock was quick and successful.

If you need anything else, please open Live Support from your tracking page — we’ll need your IMEI to locate the order. As our policy states, “Wrong IMEI: No refund if the provided IMEI is incorrect.” Without an IMEI we can’t address order-specific issues.

Thanks again — happy to help if you need more unlocks!

Hi — Charlotte here. Thanks for the feedback — glad it was "pretty good". Your unlock is complete for your Motorola Moto G Play 2023 (Xfinity USA). Your unlocking code is: 43465311.

As noted in our terms, "Non‑iPhones: entering the unlocking codes provided in accordance with the email instructions;" — if you want, I can walk you through the steps. If the phone doesn’t prompt for a code, you’ll need a Remote USB unlock.

You paid $24.99 (Eligibility Check) + $69 (Standard Unlock). I appreciate the note about price — reply if you’d like a small discount on a future service or any help getting the code entered.

Scammers Dont Buy

Scam company makes you lock into a multi-payment setup with terms of service that break multiple countries laws . then provides no refund option, only credits on their site. you ask them to refund you they refuse.
after spending 90+dollars on their site in 2 transactions and them wanting access to my computer to do a said Guaranteed unlock of my device for another 150 usd on top of the said 90 dollars,i said this place is a scam im not going to spend another dime. i then proceeded to contact them and ask for refund for them to point out their multi-country & law breaking terms of service... they refused to refund me.. now i had to contact my bank explain the situation show them the screenshots just to get refunded, my bank has now put them in the system as a scam company....

Hi — I’m Charlotte, and I’m really sorry this has been so stressful.

To investigate and help resolve this properly I need your order reference or the phone IMEI — without that we can’t locate your purchase. In the absence of any reference, we cannot address your specific concerns; please use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can look into it together.

For clarity on refunds: our Refund Policy does state refunds in certain cases (for example, “If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded.”) but our Terms also note that “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.” and that “Wrong IMEI: No refund if the provided IMEI is incorrect.”

Please open Live Support with your order number and IMEI and I’ll personally escalate this for you.

Had an iPhone 11 purchased for me for…

Had an iPhone 11 purchased for me for my birthday 3/2020 added to my AT&T account and used it for 6 yrs on there. Upgraded to new phone new service and gave phone to someone else to find out it was locked. Spoke with AT&T 6 times now and had cases put in for it to get denied to unlock by an automated email each time. Frustrated I finally decided to pay for directunlocks.com $24.99 for them to say my phone is ready to be unlocked and now I just need to pay $54.00 for them to ask AT&T to unlock it. Very misleading! I’ve already done that 1/2 a dozen times with getting no where! So now I’m suppose to pay $79 to this company to do what I’ve already been doing and then very likely get the same response?!

Hi — I’m really sorry you’ve had such a frustrating time. I can see your order (placed Jul 8, 2026): you’ve paid $6.99 for the Network Check and $24.99 for the Eligibility Check, and your status is “Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of $54.00.”

A couple of important points from our terms I need to flag for you:
- “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order.”
- “'Pre-orders' also referred to as 'Eligibility Checks' are not covered by our money back guarantee… there may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase.”
- From the Refund Policy: “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.”

Your Eligibility Check shows the phone is ready for the actual unlock request — the next step is the $54 Unlocking Payment so we can submit the IMEI to AT&T on your behalf. Please initiate that payment via your Tracking page. If the phone needs a Premium Service (if certain criteria aren’t met) that will be shown in your status and we’ll let you know.

If you’d like, I can quickly check your order now and confirm whether a Premium Service looks likely before you pay. Would you like me to do that? — Charlotte

Complete Scam Steer Well Clear!!!

Complete Scam and I cannot believe I fell for it. The initial payment is just for them to check your phone, they then tell you it can be unlocked for an extra fee. Stupidly I paid that extra fee. Then they state they cannot unlock and need another £70 totaling over £130. Despite the last payment stating "final payment". Avoid this service at all costs they will lock you into a payment pyramid where you feel like you have to pay more to as you have already paid money. I feel so stupid, I'm usually pretty wised up to scams!

*further response to their feedback. When something says final payment you do not then add another payment. After carrying out the initial checks (where the first fee is paid) this is when you should advise the type of unlock. Not after the second payment. What happens after the 3rd payment when your £130 at a loss. You ask for more money. Your fees are hidden well into the terms and conditions and you are using this to justify the scam. I don’t need a credit note I need a refund, I would never use your website again and would suggest no one else does neither. Massive scam, I’ve also reported to Google since you have their payment method option giving a false sense of security. Did I mention it’s a scam? Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

Hi — I’m really sorry this has been stressful. I can explain what’s happened and the options.

You paid £14.99 (Eligibility Check) and £42 (Standard Unlock). Your order (placed 7 Jul 2026) is showing: "Blacklisted - Premium Service Required at a price of £133.00." As our site states, "If the iPhone doesn't meet certain criteria (disclosed on their checkout page), a Premium Service may be required in addition to the Standard Unlocking Payment." Also note our Refund Policy: "Blocked/Blacklisted Phones: If your phone is blocked, stolen, or lost, no refund is provided" and "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable."

You were issued a credit note — you can use that on a future unlock by clicking "Use Credit Note" on checkout. If you want us to proceed with the Premium Service, please initiate the payment via your Tracking page.

If you’d like, I can guide you through the Tracking page steps now. — Charlotte
