A huge thank you to Lewis at Dudley for the outstanding care he showed my son after he had a funny turn following training.
Lewis was incredibly attentive, stayed calm throughout, made sure my son was comfortable, treated him appropriately, and reassured him while keeping him calm. Most importantly, he stayed with him the entire time until we arrived to collect him, making sure he was safe and well looked after.
As a parent, it was so reassuring to know my son was in such caring and capable hands. Lewis is a real credit to your team, and we are extremely grateful for the kindness, professionalism and genuine care he showed. Thank you again.

I joined David Lloyd Norwich recently, and one of the main reasons I decided to become a member was the welcome and support I received from Connie.
From my very first visit, she was friendly, approachable and genuinely interested in helping me find the right membership rather than trying to sell me one. She patiently answered every question I had, explained everything clearly, and made me feel valued from day one.
Since joining, she's continued to be incredibly helpful, responding promptly to emails and going out of her way to assist whenever I've needed advice. That level of customer service is becoming increasingly rare and deserves to be recognised.
Connie is a real credit to David Lloyd Norwich. If the standard of service she provides is anything to go by, I'm confident I've made the right choice in joining the club. Thank you, Connie, for making the whole experience so welcoming and professional.

David Lloyd west end is such a fun gym to be a member of. The aqua class I did today with Claire was so good. Her enthusiasm and music is great. Everyone singing and excercising at the same time.
The gym is air conditioned so you’re able to excercise in comfort. Then there’s the outside pool with plenty of space to enjoy the sun. Great place to be.

I am extremely disappointed by my experience with David Lloyd.
Before I even signed up, I made it very clear that my son has severe autism, is non-verbal, requires 1:1 support at all times, and is not fully toilet trained. I specifically asked whether the club could accommodate his needs before committing to an annual membership because I didn't want to pay for something we couldn't realistically use. I was reassured that it would be fine.
After joining, I discovered that wasn't the case at all.
When my partner's work schedule meant he could no longer use his membership, I asked for a refund just for him because paying 99 pounds a month for something he is never going to use is ridiculous, I asked whether he could occasionally accompany our son so I could attend a class with my daughter. I was not asking for my partner to use the gym for free. I was simply asking whether he could act as our son's essential 1:1 support while I accessed the facilities. Instead, I was spoken to as though I was trying to get something for nothing, which was upsetting and completely missed the point.
I was also told that if my son attempted to elope from the building into the car park or road, staff would not physically stop him. While I understand there may be policies around physical intervention, it highlighted that the club simply is not equipped to safely support children with complex needs despite assuring me beforehand that they could.
I was initially told I could remain with my son during classes, only to later be told I could only stay for 10 minutes. I also explained that he requires support with toileting, yet the expectation seemed to be that I would leave him and simply be called if he needed me. That isn't a realistic or safe arrangement for a child with severe autism.
The overall impression is that very little thought has been given to families with children who have significant disabilities. Families like mine don't want special treatment—we want reasonable accommodations that allow us to access the facilities in the same way other families can.
Instead, I have paid for a membership that I cannot properly use, and the only solution offered is for us to pay for a membership for my partner to accompany our son swimming, despite him only being there as essential support, they think me paying an extra 99£ a month for this. That isn't inclusive, and it certainly isn't what was explained before I joined.
The most upsetting part has been feeling like my family's needs were dismissed. Parents of disabled children deserve the opportunity to exercise, spend time with all of their children, and enjoy family facilities without constantly being made to feel like an inconvenience.
I genuinely believed David Lloyd would be a place that welcomed families of all abilities. Sadly, my experience has shown the opposite. I feel misled and miss sold before joining, unsupported afterwards, and deeply disappointed that accessibility and inclusion seem to stop where more complex disabilities begin.

Inez was incredibly helpful cancelling my membership after the club itself was useless. Thank you Inez.

Its fine if you're friends with the instructors, otherwise expect to be excluded from special classes that are put on such as Blaze Live - they solely give out tickets to people they want there and others aren't given the opportunity to attend. It's the same faces every single time. They pretend to do things such as 'hide' tickets to find, do raffles etc. But the reality is they tell certain people before they go into the room exactly where the tickets are so they can find them before its announced that they're hidden (I witnessed this and have been told by friends that they were also given a ticket), and there's never been a draw during the years that i was there. Only ONCE did they do a couple of bookable classes so people who didn't manage to 'win' (get given) a ticket could try to get a space. It should be the same principle as normal classes - book your place - fair enough they should limit it to one attendance per person so others get the opportunity. We all pay the same fees and should have the same access.
Dont bother with getting your kids a membership if you want to take them swimming as the kids pool is taken up with constant swimming lessons for the majority of the time, which of course cost a fortune on top of the membership fee.
The gym, pool and changing rooms should be a strict no phone policy, but I constantly see people in these areas taking photos or filming. For all of these reasons, I'm out as are several others. Oh and you have give three months notice if you want to leave!

The classes are great and the outdoor pool in this summer heat. Not used the gym much yet but there is a lot of equipment.

The club has a community feel and is a great escape from life’s little stresses

The facilities are good but be careful with prick hikes and they can transfer your club without your consent.
They transferred my membership to Hampton from Farnham as they say i was using it in Hampton more which is so not the case. I did not want to transfer to Hampton and requested to stay at Farnham immediately in response to the email that notified me. What they didn't say is that Hampton is now Tier 1 so i noticed the fee went up on my bank statement. I did not request to transfer to Hampton, i had one email informing me of the transfer on 1st June but no notice that the club is tier 1 and the fee is more expensive. Legally they have to inform you of the increased price. You can also refuse the transfer which i did in a response email and now i have refused the increased fee. I do not agree to the changed terms of agreement. I am not in contract anymore and had given my 3 month notice to leave so my last paid month is July. I was not informed about the increased fee for this month. I did the app chat and i was told at the time the fees would be the same and the two clubs were the same tier when transferred. I was given misinformation. I have grounds to terminate the contract with no penalty as i was not informed of the new terms of the agreement and i have argued this. I do not accept the new terms and want to end the contract now. The lady i spoke to on the chat today gave me misinformation saying she emailed me multiple times with notice of the transfer and fee increase. I have one email notifying me of the transfer but no information of the higher tier or fee increase. I asked for the evidence of these emails and the dates that the clubs changed their tiers for Hampton and Farnham. This information was not given to me and then the agent ended the chat so i did not get a copy of the transcript. I argued my case for at least 30 mins on the chat and kept getting gaslighted. I wrote to Hampton and asked them to show me evidence of when the tiers changed and the emails they say informed me of the higher tier and increased price of the transfer that i did not receive. In addition, I use Woking club more than Hampton so not sure why i got transferred to Hampton. My address is in Farnham. I only use the club house in Hampton maybe once a month if that to sit in the clubhouse if i have some work to do on the laptop as i work near Hampton. I don't use the facilities and don't like the Hampton club as its very busy and noisy. I expressed this and it was ignored. As a member, you do not have to accept the new transfer or the terms of the agreement if they transfer you without your request and increase the fee. This is grounds to end the contract without penalty so be aware of this.

DL kids team are absolutely amazing. Really never had any problems with them from young ages all the way up to teams. I have a child who cries at every activity but never with DL kids. The best thing we have ever changed in our family life.

I needed to pause my membership due to an operation. Maddison in the support team dealt with my request very sensitively and assisted me in my case very professionally. Maddison went beyond of what I expected and therefore calmed my nerves in this situation. Very grateful

Great premises throughout. Love the fact that there are always Adult Only lanes in the pool even during family swim time. Love having the option of indoor or outdoor swimming in fine weather.
The gym equipment is the best I’ve ever experienced.
The staff are very good - friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
It’s quite expensive even at “Off peak” rates but I think it’s worth it. Wish I’d discovered David Lloyd Worthing before!

I just want to say a massive thank you to Madison from the Member Support team. Having got myself into some financial difficulties and encountering issues with my David Lloyd membership, Madison went above and beyond to see what she could do to support me. With the compassion she showed, she took the time to speak to her manager and resolve my situation. I can't thank her enough for helping out, so thanks again Madison!
