Fantastic service from Daniel and the team, managed to restore all my data and sorted me a whole new external hard drive. Reliable service would definitely recommend
Mixed experience here. I am very thankful that the team were able to recover my data from a broken hard drive, but it was a very stressful experience and I feel like they could do a better job to be more transparent and put you at ease.
On the phone consultation, the sales people are very eager to convince you to send them your broken hard drive. For anyone who doesn’t know, the idea is that they pick it up from you for free, assess the damage and then give you a quote for a repair.
In the original consultation on the phone, I asked for a rough price “are we talking like over a thousand pounds”, and the guy laughed and said typically it is more like £300-400. This put me at ease and I sent the drive off - but after they’d got my drive and had a look at it, I was quoted over £1000 all in. It was quite a shock after initially thinking it would be half that, but I paid.
I was also given the option to pay extra to have a 3-day turn around (I think an extra £150), or stick with the included 2-week turnaround. Since I was already so blown away by the price, I decided to stick with the included 2-week return.
I was expecting this meant I would have my drive repaired and returned within 2 weeks of the payment, but what I didn’t realise was that this means they don’t actually start working on it for 2 weeks. So when the 2 weeks came and went and I hadn’t heard anything, I was starting to get scared that I had been scammed or that maybe they weren’t able to recover my data after all. It was pretty stressful being out a thousand pounds and not hearing anything from them, or being able to get through to them.
Four days after the 2 weeks had passed, I got an email from Royal Mail saying it was on the way back to me.
Great experience. They were quick to respond after my enquiry, picked up my hard drive and all my data was recovered in 48 hours!
