Avoid unless you want to throw money away

I would give 0 stars if I could. I placed an order in early March 2025, and still received nothing and it's the end of October!! Shes constantly advertising ready to go but can't keep up with orders and ignores messages from customers asking politely where items are!
I had initial communication from chloe saying she couldn't do what i'd ordered but agreed on something else, I picked colours via WhatsApp and waited the 12 weeks, no product delivered. I messaged, mid may, and she said she was running a little behind which I understand but a little message would have been nice. I then had another message end of may, saying I had to pick colours again due to supply issues, picked new colours and expected to wait a few weeks but still no product sent. I have sent texts, WhatsApps, email and Instagram but get completely ignored. I'm posting this review as it seems to be the only way to get anything from her as she tries to defend herself on Instagram to these reviews. I'll probably get ignored again! Really wanted to support a small business but wish I'd read reviews 1st and supported elsewhere

If anyone has set up an instagram account or anything to reveal this scamming business could you please put it in the reviews. Unfortunately she has carried on taking orders even though her previous ones have never been fulfilled.

Sorry to say but best to avoid.

I really try to support small businesses but have never had such a bad experience as with Curly Characters. I’m a special needs teacher and ordered a class name in May 2025. I saw the wait time and actually said I was happy to wait longer until September when I set up my new classroom. The order still hasn’t come through, we’re now in half term so that’s 4 months since my order, well over the advertised wait. What’s frustrating is seeing all the new signs on sale on the Instagram site. After numerous emails and DMs I still have not had any response. Sadly looking at all the negative reviews on this site this seems very common and I wish I had checked out such reviews before making my order. I feel really disappointed that it’s been such a negative experience.

Absolutely worth the wait

This is my second order made with Curly Characters. Fully aware of the timescale and was in no rush to receive my order. Item was delivered after 12 weeks - yes it is a long time to wait but my God the sign is beautiful! The owner is really talented and the signs are incredibly well made and made to last. Again, I’m a very happy customer.

No communication, no parcel..

I selected a “ready to post” item, had a fast reply to confirm it was available & sent across the money. After not receiving the item within the postage time I decided to politely message to see if I’d understood correctly (that it was ready to post) or whether it classed as a 10 week wait, in which case that would have been fine. It was confirmed that the item was ready to post & she was just unwell at the moment - completely understand!
Weeks later I have sent various messages with no response, politely asking if I could have an update. I’m not an unfair person, actually I think this is my first bad review ever! If the communication was better I wouldn’t have felt the need to leave one and would have worked on resolving the issue! £20 isn’t a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but on maternity leave every penny is needed so I will now be needing to work out how to be refunded this amount. A shame as the pieces look beautiful, but doesn’t look like I’ll be finding out.

Still waiting... Awful business, avoid!

Still waiting for an order I placed on 7th June. Understood 10 week lead time but now over 18 weeks.
No response from company via email or Instagram despite several attempts.
Can now assume I won't be receiving my order or my money back.
Please avoid this business!!

No item received, no reply to messages

No item received after four months. No reply to WhatsApp or Instagram messages. The 5* reviews here all have very similar themes around how the seller is clear on her 10 week turnaround time and has been experiencing family issues... Going back to 2023. There are lots of small sellers out there who manage their workloads to meet turnaround times and keep customers informed of delays. Even if this is a genuine seller and items are being made, the service is shocking. Avoid at all costs.

Worth the wait!

I ordered beginning of June 2025, received my order yesterday at my local inpost. I contacted Chloe via Instagram a few times before getting a reply. However, a few days later she text me confirming she was starting my order. Responds on text a lot quicker, can only imagine she’s inundated with orders. Completely understand things happen, plans change and also trying to spend time away from work. Definitely bare with it, if you have ordered.
It was well worth the wait, it’s so pretty!!

Small businesses like this, need to supported more and understood.

Thanks again and I will order again🫶🏼

Avoid at all costs

I placed an order via her website and then sent a polite message asking for confirmation of order and money. My first three messages were ignored so I asked for a refund. She sent a reply saying a family member was ill and she didn't understand why I was asking for a refund when the turn around time was 10 weeks. I explained the lack of confirmation was the reason and sent my details for a refund. She replied, calling me selfish. She said she would refund me when she 'got 5 minutes' and I am still waiting. Wish I'd read these reviews first. I would give zero stars if I could. I am reporting her to trading standards and suggest others do the same. I'm so disappointed that someone could just essentially steal my hard earned money. She has ignored further messages. I'd love to know if there is any legal action that can be taken considering how many people she has scammed. No option to comment on instagram posts either which I find interesting! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS 'BUSINESS'

Only order if you don't want the item to turn up!!

Ordered our item at the end of may, was happy to wait the turnaround time as we like the personalised design. We are now well over the 10 week turnaround period and still nothing!! Emailed 3 times and instagram messaged but hasnt replied, seemingly just doing certain orders as they feel like it and not fulfilling all orders. Luckily only cheap so no real loss but would seriously avoid and choose maybe pricey alternatives for a more successful outcome. Will continue to message to see if the item will eventually turn up. So frustrating to see the instagram page so active yet no response from them. Such a joke.

DO NOT ORDER - no item received, no refund given

Placed an order on January 1st… couldn’t wait to receive my items, I ordered 3 items and received none! I was so polite and patient in every message, i originally waited 11 weeks (after the suggested 10 week turnaround) then received a message to say the wool was out of stock so to pick new colours… I did…didn’t complain at the timeframe as I would rather of had the items than a refund. Waited another 4-6 weeks and had been messaging on Instagram, WhatsApp and email and never got any response again. So frustrating as I was really looking forward to receiving them. It’s awful how someone can do this to people and just take their money! I’ve never encountered a company like this! TIP TO ANYONE - PayPal will only refund you if you apply before 6 months from order date, some banks only 4 months!! Therefore don’t allow yourself to be fooled into waiting longer due to this person messaging you with a “stock issue”.
Will be reporting to trading standards!
Truly don’t know how this person can live with ripping people off the way they do and continue to post and advertise on social media!

I ignored the negative reviews, what a mistake!

I so was excited to order a sign for my babies bedroom door, I placed my order at the end of March and I was happy to wait the 10 week turnaround for such a lovely item.
I ignored the negative reviews on trustpilot as there were some positive reviews and I liked the personalised sign so much.
We are now at the end of August so 20 weeks later and I have not received my order. I have emailed Curly Characters three times and messaged twice. All I asked for was an update on my order. Sadly, I have had no response.
Curly characters have taken my money and not fulfilled the order and continue to regularly advertise their business. It seems that they choose which orders to complete and which ones to ignore. Buyers beware that you may lose your money!
Those that have bought via PayPal, you may be able to claim your money back if you don’t receive your order.

I placed an order 21/6/2025

I placed an order 21/6/2025, expecting my order to arrive week ending 30/8/2025.
After initial problems with payment link to pay via my bank, l paid for my order via PayPal.
I have contacted Chloe numerous times asking for confirmation in receipt of payment NO RESPONSE, I accepted turnaround times 6-10 weeks so l was not asking for updates on my order.
Constantly checking my account and my order was showing 'order pending' then 'order in progress' and l checked today and status is now showing 'no orders to show' ,l don't know what's going on.
I have messaged via my order, direct messaged Chloe several times still no reply.
I read reviews after placing my order but decided to give Chloe benefit of the as doubt as there were some positive reviews.
However l think l may be on of the unfortunate few that will not receive their expected order.
Contact/customer service is zero which l believe is very important part of a business.
I will however will anxiously and hopefully wait until the 30th August to see if l receive my order as it is a gift for a baby shower l am attending on the 30th.

Ordered in April and didn’t get my order until end of July! I was constantly ignored, whilst I was chasing to see if my order had been made/ delivered I couldn’t get an answer but the account was still active constantly have sales and promotions put on her stories to entice more people to buy! I finally got an answer in July and received nothing but rude & condescending comments!

Wish I could give 0 stars, AVOID!

Wish I could give 0 stars. Placed 3 orders with the seller, the first being in December 2024 , was super patient and polite with seller as expected 6-10 week turnaround but still waiting. Raised disputes with PayPal due to not receiving order and lack of communication for second 2 orders, was unable for first as time had passed. Seller then stated I would still not be receiving my first order as I had raised disputes for the other 2 and this had cost her money, so claimed we were “ square “ laughable really. Wish I could attach screenshots to show the poor service and attitude to customers. Seller is constantly posting screenshots of conversations with unhappy customers on her story - not surprised. Strangest thing is, I actually saw my custom order on her story - so she has made it and just not sent it? Bizarre. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

No refund or order after 15 months

I made an order back in May 2024, I chased the order in October 2024 with no response. I made further communication in December and January also no response. I managed to get ahold of her email from a previous order I got a response in January saying she no longer made what I had initially ordered, which I was not told about however, I changed my order to something she does do although have since tried to get ahold of her February, March, April, May, July and again this week on both Instagram and via her email and still no response. I had asked for a refund back in April but still nothing. Was very understanding with the order issues originally but this is not acceptable with the said ‘10 week turn around’ we are now approaching 15 months! Very poor.
