While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more
To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. This technology is designed to identify and remove content that breaches our guidelines, including reviews that are not based on a genuine experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Tried to call to cancel subscriptions for two companies but automated call refers you to email them. Emailed on two separate occasions but have been completely ignored. They have also been taking money every month even though there are no direct debits in place for an account which is no longer active.
A Distinct Lack of Support from CreditFocus
I recently attempted to create an account with CreditFocus, but unfortunately, I was met with nothing but frustration. After several failed attempts, I decided to reach out to their support team for assistance. However, it's been well over a week and I have yet to receive a response. Frankly, I'm extremely disappointed and quite frankly, I think it's safe to say that CreditFocus is a dead product that is no longer being actively developed or supported. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear of this one.
Outdated and inaccurate information
Information provided comes out of Companies house and ratings change without supporting information. One of our long term customers went from 5 to 1 overnight, and queried why we asked for payment upfront instead of the normal 30 days. When we told them it was based off CreditFocus score, and queried the company's status, they got pretty upset. Not at us, but at CreditFocus because their 20-year reputation with us had been tarnished for reasons unknown. CreditFocus gives absolutely no information why there is this change, and our customer is now paranoid that someone has started using their details to take out loans that are being defaulted on, or something of that ilk.
So unreliable information which if acted on can damage relationships. As a result, no longer using CreditFocus and started using TransUnion - pricier but the information they provide is accurate and detailed, rather than just a number with no substance other than Companies House information.
Avoid!

We have been using Credit Focus for…
We have been using Credit Focus for some years, it has been a pleasure to use. Its simple, fast and effective. We have been able to at a minutes notice check new customers, old customers to ensure that they are credit worthy.
We apprecaite how it has helped us from having clients who have left us with BAD debt. We would recommend Credit Focus to our clients and suppliers.

Unreliable and outdated data that prevents proper risk decision making
Creditfocus has been a huge disappointment with out of date and hugely inconsistent data.
The information provided by Creditfocus is not updated and fails to provide an accurate or reliable source to make risk decisions.
We are now turning to Experian and Creditsafe to provide a more informative, up to date and reliable source.
System down but still charging customers

We dont now when it was going to be fixed
customer
So are we still being charged while we are unable to use the facility?

no refunds are being issued
customer
So you are not providing the service? cannot tell me when the service will be available again? but are still charging in full for the service?
Reasonably easy to use but be warned
Reasonably easy to use but be warned. You can only delete companies on your watchlist one at a time, which is a major pain, so you slowly accumulate a lot of companies. They then charge accordingly. Our monthly charges increased from £12 to £50 per month in two years. Monitoring companies we're no longer interested in. It would be two days work to delete them all one at a time!
Ease of use
Credit Focus is easy to use and you are able to get up to date information on any company at any time.

Not always up to date
Have in the past searched for a customer, they were given a good rating but in fact were bankrupt and had closed and so we lost the money for the work we had done (several thousand pounds).

OK but...
OK but basic in that there is often little detail on who the directors are

Slow
Slow service, never quite sure if the data is as up to date as it could be.
