Bought lavina sofa, 4 months later, unbearable to sit on so saggy. Total waste of money so if you see any on clearance or sale I wouldn't bother

We made a visit to the showroom in Long Eaton, which proved very worthwhile. We received outstanding help and advice, for which we were very grateful.

We went to the factory showroom and we were guided round every suite and given plenty of time to decide. Fiona who guided us was so helpful and very knowledgeable which made our choosing very easy. This is our second suite from Collins & Hayes. We would fully recommend firstly whatever furniture shop you deal with to take a trip to the factory and secondly, we feel that the quality is second to none

I really wanted to visit the showroom & very keen to replace our existing Collins and Hayes sofas. However after 3 calls & an online enquiry I have given up & ordered our sofas from another British manufacturer. Very inconvenient opening hours

Have always bought Collins and Hays.. Love the quality of your sofas but your fabrics really need updating..they are not exciting...

Everyone has been very helpful and understanding, especially when we changed our minds on the material!

This review refers to the timeline for the manufacture, communication and delivery of the sofas ordered. It is not about the Sofasthemselves as I am very happy with their quality and comfort.
The sofas got ordered from a local retailer in April 2021 with an estimated delivery wait of 10 weeks, with the potential for up to a further 4-week delay, and a July delivery at the latest. In July the order was delayed until late August/ early September owing to COVID issues which were unavoidable. In September a week before the delivery date, the delay got extended to late October. Late October became early November which then became late November because some required material was not in stock. Late November became early December. The Sofas finally got delivered to the retailer on the 23rd of December.
During this period, there was little if any communication from either the company or the retailer. Both had to be pushed on a regular basis for updates as delays were not communicated.
It is a great shame that the after-sales support from both parties was so poor and the delays incurred were unacceptable in my opinion.

Just ordered a few samples, as we are buying a couch and needed a sample of the colour and cushions. Great company and they make the best sofas.

Excellent quality English made sofas and suites, beautifully presented for you to try. Best of all, Fiona will help you decide without any sales pressure because they don't sell here - just help you decide what works best for you. Highly recommended.

I was very pleased with the service I recieved and prompt delivery of sample swatches

We had to cancel after submitting our order as the material wasn’t in stock despite being told that it was available at purchase. Very frustrating and a waste of time.

Purchased 2 Lavinia sofas in September 2020 which arrived in January 2021. We knew there might be an extended wait due to lockdown which was absolutely fine.
The sofas have had very little use due to them being in our sitting room that we only really use in the winter time. So I would say 3-4 months use.
They are absolutely awful the backs are sagging really badly every time you get up they need plumping up again in fact you have to get up and plump them constantly as otherwise so uncomfortable! The seat cushions slide off the sofa constantly so again you have to get up and sort out, they have also become very uncomfortable and I doubt they will last very long.
We spent a lot of money on these sofas and quite frankly we would have got better quality had we spent a third of what we did at DFS!
The care instructions are followed and we were fully aware the cushions need plumping but to be plumping all evening is just ridiculous!
Next time we have a bonfire chances are the sofas will be on it, wouldn’t even give to a charity shop.
Do yourselves a favour DO NOT BUY these poorly made horrible sofas!

Bought the furniture hoping it would stand the rest of time , unfortunately not. Had it 8 months and had the sagging heavy cushion backs inspected by technician and replaced as underfilled , you could fold them over into a sandwich and they did nt spring back .They were absolutely dreadful ,uncomfortable and because the feathers dropped to the bottom it infringed the seat pad giving quite a small area to sit in. I asked for fibre wrapped replacement and they are no better , all the same problems . Need plumping every time someone gets up as they look baggy and scruffy and I’m embarrassed as it gives the room an untidy look . The armchair backs seem quite thin and do not match the thickness of the sofa backs so it does nt look uniform.A technician is coming out again so I hope some resolution. The arm caps that cost £100 a pair are a very poor fit and the material rubbed. Please Collins and Hayes don’t tell me to read the aftercare leaflet as I’ve read it many times .This is the worst furniture I have bought for the money paid , it’s definitely not something that will last years .If I get no joy this time I think it’s only fit for the charity shop as my back can’t take too many years being so uncomfortable.

Waiting since July for our suite to arrive.. However now im very suspicious why there are so many 5star reviews just for samples arriving ????? Ive never heard of anyone doing that all you put a review in about is the after sales and the product. We are seriously thinking of cancelling our order.

Love Colin and Hayes we had our former sofa from Colin and Hayes and it was so comfortable and stylish,
We then bought a sofa from DFS and say no more we are on the hunt for another Colin and Hayes sofa,
The only problem trying to find a furniture store that sells them near Sussex?

Order over £5000 of sofas over 32 weeks ago. Delivery date was promised and then moved so many times I've forgotten. Then they arrive but the footstool is missing and my retailer cant get an answer to where that is! So now that stool has been canceled! Customer service was plesant but always blames everyone else - Brexit, Covid, WW Shipping Problems, Retailer, Distribution company.
However, the sofas are here, and they are really nice, and look good quality. The offer we had gave us a free small footstool which is fine. We had ordered a larger one but that didn't arrive so it has now been cancelled.
If it had been delivered within the timescales they first stated and the customer service had been a bit more honest it would have been 5*.
Service was 1 star, product 5 star so all in all it's a 3*.
