They are the best. Unlike Coinbase which doesn't even reply, they fix all your problems. The support is fast unlike other wallets like coinbase (doesn't reply) and spectrocoin.

My experience with CoinPayments has…

My experience with CoinPayments has been deeply troubling.

My funds have been held since 2017 without any prior notice or warning that my country would later be blacklisted. At no point was I informed via email or given a reasonable opportunity to withdraw or resolve the issue before this action was taken.

For years, my attempts to engage with CoinPayments were ignored. Communication only resumed after I involved a lawyer, yet even then the handling of my case has remained unprofessional and slow. Most recently, I was left waiting seven (7) working days with no update whatsoever, despite being told the matter was under review.

This level of delay and silence when a company is holding customer funds is unacceptable. The lack of transparency, accountability, and urgency raises serious concerns about how CoinPayments treats long-standing customers when issues arise.

I feel completely let down and forced to fight for access to my own money after trusting this platform in good faith. I strongly advise anyone considering CoinPayments to proceed with extreme caution and to carefully assess the risks of entrusting them with your funds.

Shameful treatment of a customer.

Excellent Service

The gentleman that was dealing with me, Anthony Miller, was extremely kind and patient with me. He took time to explain to me what I needed to do and he understood that I was initially not clear on what was required.

I am impressed that we still can experience exceptional service delivery in this day!

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this has been, especially given that you’ve used our services for several years.

After reviewing your case, we can confirm that the required overage recovery link was sent to you manually by our team. However, it appears that our emails may not be reaching your inbox. This commonly happens when messages are filtered, blocked, or automatically marked as spam by the email provider.

We kindly ask that you check your spam/junk folders and review any email filters or blocks to ensure emails from CoinPayments are not being filtered out. If needed, please add our domain to your safe sender list.

Once email delivery is confirmed, we’re happy to continue assisting and move this forward without further delay.

We understand how frustrating this experience can be, and we’d like to clarify what happened.

The invoice you were provided was specifically for USDT on the ERC-20 network. However, the funds were sent using USDT on the BEP-20 network, which is a different blockchain. When assets are sent on an incorrect network, they do not process automatically and must be recovered manually, which requires technical intervention and on-chain gas fees.

The additional gas cost was not a penalty or arbitrary charge, it was required to safely retrieve the funds due to the network mismatch. Where possible, we do return any unused portion of the gas after the recovery is completed.

While we always aim to assist in these situations, blockchain transactions are irreversible, and sending assets on the correct network is essential. We strongly encourage double-checking both the asset and the network before sending to avoid delays and extra costs in the future.

Money lost

I select ETH and i payed ETH - no information given that i cannot use the Base Network for that.
On Coinbase is Base the preselected default.
Refund costs ETH 0,02 = small transactions like mine are completly lost!
I think i am not the only one when Coinbase use Base as default.
I am not a lawyer but for me is that a scam - the fee for refund is a bad joke!

The provider who received the money was very friendly and give me the goods double for no extra charge - that was the only good thing on this story…

We understand why this was frustrating, and we’re sorry for the confusion you experienced.

While you selected ETH, the payment was required to be sent on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network, which is clearly specified on the invoice and payment page. Base is a separate Layer-2 network, and payments sent via Base cannot be processed automatically when the invoice is issued for Ethereum mainnet.

Coinbase does preselect Base in some cases, but the sender is still responsible for confirming both the asset and the network before sending. This applies across all blockchain transactions and platforms.

The recovery cost is not a penalty or profit-based fee. It reflects the actual on-chain gas required and the manual technical work needed to recover funds sent on an unsupported network. Where recovery is possible, any unused portion of the gas is often returned after the process is completed.

Unfortunately, for very small transactions, the required gas can sometimes exceed the transaction value itself, which can make recovery uneconomical.

We’re glad to hear the merchant was understanding and helped make things right on their end. We continue working to make network requirements as clear as possible and strongly encourage reviewing both the asset and network shown on the invoice before sending to avoid this situation in the future.

The experience was horrible

If they're expecting a refund, they'll never get one unless they pay again; they're scammers.

We’d like to look into this and clarify what happened, but we’ll need a bit more information first. Please share the transaction ID, invoice ID, or support ticket number.

For context, cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, and refunds are not automatic. When a refund or recovery is possible, it requires a new on-chain transaction, which incurs network (gas) fees. These fees are paid to the blockchain network itself, not to CoinPayments, and are required to process the transaction.

If funds were sent on an incorrect network or require manual recovery, additional gas and technical work may be necessary. Where applicable, any unused portion of the gas is often returned after the process is completed.

We’d also like to note that we’ve recently launched our new V2 platform, which introduces significantly lower gas fees for claiming refunds and handling recoveries. We’re excited to continue rolling this out and to have merchants transition to this platform throughout 2026, as it will greatly reduce costs in situations like this.

We take allegations of fraud seriously and are happy to review the facts once the transaction details are provided.

Unclear Payment Instructions

Payment instructions for order delivery were not clearly listed on the proper supported blockchains. Support was not willing to resolve issue and provide refund.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and would like to review this further. To do so, we’ll need a bit more information from you, such as the support ticket number, transaction ID, or invoice ID associated with the payment.

Payment pages and invoices specify the supported asset and blockchain network required for successful processing. If funds are sent on an unsupported network, the payment cannot be processed automatically and may require manual recovery, which can affect refund eligibility.

Once you provide the requested details, we’ll be happy to look into the case and clarify what happened.

Please note that withdrawal fees include the required network (miner) fee for the blockchain, which we do not control, and no funds are ever taken beyond what is necessary to process a transaction. That said, I’m happy to take a closer look at your specific situation to ensure everything was handled correctly.

I’m here to help—please send your ticket number so I can follow up right away.
