While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Egotistical Senior Management

The size of Cognatum Estates properties tend to be larger than the average retirement property which is a very good plus, but this is outweighed by the arrogant attitude of the senior management. The opinions and suggestions of the owners/residents count for very little, normally its Cognatum’s way or nothing.

Failure to reply to specific important email queries

Prior to December, I sent emails to Managing Director re some very important
specific issues and was fobbed off by
mearly stating that it
was within regulations or none of my business (I queried the need for a substatial loan as it may affect leaseholders finances )
I persisted with followups but in December he terminated all future correspondence with any senior manager
.He would wish me to
me to use the complaints procedure
which has a bad
reputation and maybe finish up as a legal matter &.Cognatum can employ costly lawyers because
the leaseholders pay all the costs regardles
of the outcome .This is consequence of a "not for profit "company

An Official Complaint has resulted in an apology being received in January 2024 for Cognatum Estates' staff failings to organise a timely and permanent roof repair before winter. After five months ... roof is still not repaired!
