I started a trial on Clockify two weeks ago together with Plaky. I was apprehensive due to mixed reviews, especially regarding customer service. As a bit of a technophobe and very busy working too I was keen to have something simple.
I would say to someone who has time to sit and play, it’s is likely very simple but for me getting to grips with it whilst scoffing down a sandwich, I did test out the customer service. The chap 'Ivan’ I initially spoke to on a video call has answered my initial set up questions swiftly but the chat with an agent is great too. I’ve chatted to them most lunch times. I have my whole team set up on Plaky and Clockify and it’s working well. The one thing I did ask for is to be able to customise status as I have a long list in my ‘to do ‘ to wade through before getting to ‘in progress’.
Quick response and resolution. Warm and accommodating approach in issue communication.
I'm a big fan of clockify and have been using it for more than half a year with growing enthusiasm. It comes with all the features I need and is designed in a user-friendly, intuitive and even aesthetic way. It works on all platforms and devices: Windows, Mac, android, iPhone and offers export-functions for all time entries as excel-files. It's a great help for efficiently registering my working time on different projects and tasks and analyzing it. A positive side effect for me is that I work in a more focused and organized way. The developers are super friendly! I'm very fond of their app and I'm carefully nudging my colleagues to start using clockify. :)
Timetracker is not functioning properly and is taking twice as long to add entries. Times need to be entered 2x for it to take effect. What huge waste of time and extremely aggravating. Huge disappointment. No live customer support or chat. TOTALLY INEFFICIENT!!!!

Beware of this scam company. They are a time tracking software and they literally have zero ability to do a payroll report. Not possible they say. Not supported. They refuse to work with you and refuse to refund despite a huge missing feature.
Staggeringly bad customer service and I note how many other 1 star reviews say the same thing. We did not, repeat did not, get a renewal email, and when the subscription renewed immediately asked for cancellation and refund...on the same day. My upcoming article is going to be titled When the Cake Goes Moldy and will be sharing this experience as well as others where the companies have been more ethical and understanding. What is it with businesses that they are happier to keep a small amount of money in return for such bad press.

Clockify makes time boxing easier. It has become a tool that I and my team can not live without. Great product that does what it's intended to do.

Simple, affordable, and reliable.
I use clockify as a freelancer to track my hours, project burn, create monthly reports and generate invoices.
The platform is simple, with no frills, but that's why I like it. They are adding new features constantly.
EDIT: I received an email reply from the report staff, and it was my VPN provider causing the issues, not Clockify. The original review remains for historical purposes.
It's 2023. If you are not using a VPN on a regular basis, you just don't care that your data is being sold to lower your bill. And if you don't care that your data is sold and later de-anonymized, I honestly don't have anything to say you about when you're living. About what time in human history we're discussing.
But I did not expect to have this conversation with Clockify. In fact, I have to disconnect from my VPN to log in, clock-in, or clock-out. I have no idea why they would do this. Are bad actors out there pretending to be me, using VPN settings to impersonate me, to clock-in and -out of my projects? How much money are they making doing this?
In my opinion, having to turn off my VPN before interacting with Clockify -- a site that I am supposed to be able to access as a digital nomad in the first place -- exposes my data unwillingly to my provider, smells like collusion of some kind, is a throw-back to 2010, and is worth only about two stars.

We're a small company on an annual Pro license.
Our invoice was up for renewal today, but we wanted one less seat than we'd paid for last year.
Clockify's website showed the number of seats we were about to pay for, but said it would not let us reduce the number of seats until we had paid the invoice. My business partner and I found this very confusing. There was other messaging on the page to say that we needed to renew within 14 days or else we'd be downgraded, so we figured that surely the process must be to pay, and then claim a refund for the seat we were not going to make use of for the whole year.
Immediately upon having paid for all our seats (again, it wasn't possible to renew for less seats) we reached out to customer support to request a refund.
The response we received from Clockify said 'I understand that this was not the answer you were hoping for' but 'this particular situation falls outside the scope of charges that are refundable'.
I find this approach to customer service staggering. Clockify are effectively saying: 'I know our website just steered you towards paying for something you didn't want, but we've got you cornered by our terms of use'.
If this is Clockify's attitude towards customers, we'll be looking for an alternative as quickly as possible.
EDIT: (A question/response to Clockify's reply)
@Clockify you say: "Further more we offer 14 days grace period for payment and during that time users can reach out to us if they want to request certain changes regarding the invoice."
I would like to point out, again, that your website would not let me change the number of seats prior to paying. It told me I would need to pay first before changing the number of seats.
Furthermore, I am still within the grace period as I write this, and yet you will not adjust my bill.
As a customer, I feel that I am being treated unfairly, and that I have been made to pay $95 for something I don't need.

Certainly! Here's a positive review for Clockify, written with the understanding that you're quite impressed with it:
"Having tried various time-tracking tools in the past, I must say Clockify stands out distinctly. Not only is its interface user-friendly, but the features it offers are both comprehensive and intuitive. It has made tracking my work hours and project progress a breeze, and the insights I've gained from the data have been invaluable. The level of customization available ensures it fits seamlessly into my workflow. Truly, Clockify has transformed the way I view time management and productivity. Highly recommended
My journey started off on a positive note with clockify, I love the auto record / track feature which made my life really easy as I would record my activity and then at the end of the day I would log everything towards projects and clients.
But then as I started using it, a lot of bugs started to creep up, I would open the recorded events for today and would not see anything, I would switch to yesterday's log and would see events I recorded today. The app wouldn't record software titles, billing would be set on a task but when I logged it towards that ask, it would still show as unbillable. So many issues, so then I decided to get in touch with support which were very helpful and things kept happening.
After a few weeks of continuous bugs coming up, I decided to switch to another provider only after using it for 3 month and I paid for a full year, I gave them a shot to fix the issues but this was not working out for me and It was a lot of time wasted and money.
In all fairness their support team tried to fix the issues but the development process was slow and I can't keep going back and forth reporting bugs and waiting for them to update the app.
So I cancelled my subscription and fairly, I asked for partial refund because I had 9 more month on my subscription and they didn't accept it and that's their prerogative and it's also mine to review the experience and let other people know about my journey with Clockify.

I'm using it daily. Easy to use and able to share time data with clients.
It has some issues:
the free plan doesn't let me multi unbill timeframes.
it's very easy to misclick that start button, instead it edits the task.
Edo was great!
Had issues with the app immediately due to browser cookie issues (so not their fault) and i had a response literally within 10 seconds and then another teething issue resolved within a few minutes.
We use lots of software in our business and Clockify is up their with speed and efficiency of response.
Gives me reassurance that if i put time & effort into setting this up to achieve specific goals there is a team that can help us quickly if we need help.
This will now be implemented for all my team next week.
Thanks Edo!

Very dangerous way of getting pulled into billing. I was forced to upgrade while trying some options and did so. however it was not suitable according to vendor, I asked for cancellation and refund, they rejected and I just signed up 1 day back. Ridiculous. In UK there is usually 14 day trail/cooling off period , these guys are just making money with no refund policy. They should be banned out of UK atleast

BEWARE - it is very easy to click what turned out to be the WRONG button when prompted to upgrade the basic version and when you do you will be given NO option to set up the Trial version, and no way of knowing that it is set up WITHOUT credit card details.
EVERY SINGLE FIRST application should be TRIAL VERSION to avoid this very bad entrance into your product.
BEWARE everyone. They hide behind a T & C to make money from this. I lost my first months subscription due to this hidden feature. Lucky I did not pay a years subscription as I usually do with products. Still thought I had a 7 day trial of the upgraded product, sadly NO :(
It maybe a good app, but getting your staff to comply is the biggest hurdle and having the time to set it up to become useful is another..
EDIT after your reply _ I still stand by my first email to you

I thought I had subscribed to the Trial version of this software but note that you are charging me a full subscription fee.
Nothing was noted regarding non compliance.
Your procedure for upgrade is NOT CLEAR and I believe after doing more research, others have had this SAME issue. SAD that you have to steal our funds when offering 7 days FREE.

We have been using Clockify for over a year at Assuaged.com. It's not easy to build and scale a business, especially with college students that are need of hours towards graduating with a college degree. With Clockify we are able to easily and seamlessly track student hours and PDF print hour reports to provide to the universities that work with us. We have used other time tracking softwares that were expensive and not user-friendly. Every ounce of money that goes towards this type of software is literally an investment that is worth spending! Thank you Clockify for your excellent customer service. We love and appreciate you!
