Still Suffering and getting Worse
I fell and then went to Cleveland Clinic for assistance. I was diagnosed with a wrist fracture and subsequent EPL fracture. At the time the pain was chronic, unbearable, and I complained often to the doctor's. I was scheduled for surgery and the physician tried twice and had to call someone else to get the infraclavicular block. The person called used an ultrasound guide but by this time I had a pneumothorax. It is the contention of the Cleveland Clinc staff this is the norm and a known outcome for blocks, though who tries repeatedly? When I asked the anesthesiologist he said there were no known negative consequences. I did not see him until the time of the "supposed surgery". It gets worse.
I repeatedly told the hand surgeon of my pain in my forearm, which turned out to be Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. A syndrome that requires early intervention and was ignored. I can now barely walk, continue to have pain and cannot get treatment for my continuing issues. Cleveland Clinic was not forthcoming about the use of Ross University Students nor did I get the treatment that I paid for and deserved. To date still getting diagnosis for the CRPS and the decreased lung functioning. Scheduled on the 24 of this month again.
I have suffered high blood pressure last 12 years
I have suffered high blood pressure which caused me to have 2 aneurysm within 6 months. I’ve been going to different cardiologist over the last past 12 years and they couldn’t bring it down. 2024 I met Doctor Corey Cavanaugh kidney specialist he has gotten my blood pressure ranging 133/76 for the last 4 months. The doctor is damn good. Bed side manners, he listens, he makes plans give meds remove meds cautioned. He’s a God sent. Small note my pressure was always 227/110 or190/100 for 12 years. If you’re suffering with hbp I recommend him.

Disgusting
I am tired of the staff not wearing PPE. From COVID, to bronchitis, pneumonia, CDIFF, ect. You name it.
I was a former employee and no one ever wore ppe. In the heart ICU, Nerostepdown, or the neruo ICU.
Disgusting. That is abhorrent worn out behaviour and I am disgusted by the lack of protocol being followed.
The lack of responsibility by the nurses is disgruntling.
I have doctored at union hospital for…
I have doctored at union hospital for 25 yrs. Cleveland clinic took over and not only did they not send me a statement for 9 months they then sent one saying they were going to send me to collections. That was bad enough. Now they say my Doctor visit will cost me 450.00 each visit. My appointments are 15 minutes where they take my weight, take my blood pressure and give me a script. $450.00 is my cost. This is so immoral, unethical and i will not pay for their CEO's to go on vacation. My doctor says they have to bill that way. So not only is Cleveland clinic stealing money from patients but ruining the Dr.s reputation. Makes me sick. I will go somewhere else after 25 yrs of being a patient there. I will warn people on facebook to watch for this corruption.
My PCP sent me to Cleveland Clinic ED…
My PCP sent me to Cleveland Clinic ED (Vero beach FL) due to persistent high BP, history of stroke and chest pain. I was taken back (after a long wait) to a large room with side petitions but front wide open…no curtain).:As bloodwork and EKG were done, I requested a blanket or towel as had to remove my arm etc exposing my bra. They didn’t give me anything to cover myself! Then, after a chest X-ray, I was placed in a similar room with many patients. (I put my shirt back on). After much time had passed, I tried to get the attention of the many staffers that walked by. They all ignored me. Time passed again. I’m a patient person but not one person checked on me. Chest pain persisted. Finally, I removed the EKG pads and walked out. I took the arm port out when I got home. It took them over two hours to realize I was missing!! They called my husband which is how they found out. Oh, I’m a retired nurse and have worked in an ED. I will never go back to Cleveland Clinic in Vero Beach again.
Their billing practices are outrageous
Their billing practices are outrageous. The seem to bill per subject matter. I saw a doctor, not even a specialist, and the charge was $1600!!!! The hospital charged me for 3 separate office visits for the one I actually had. I have been making payments on the account like clockwork and they turned the account over to collections. They have charged me for a diagnosis (from another doctor) because their doctor put it in the notes. They don't record payments properly either. Someone needs to get these hospital systems and their money grabbing under control.
Forget trying to get anything done in a timely manner
This place is becoming a joke! Changed insurance companies, try to set up appointments and labs I needed done. Central operator refused to set me up any appointments and told me my insurance was inactive! Called the insurance company and they told me my insurance was active for two months and they did not know what Cleveland clinic’s problem was, and gave me a reference number to give to them to verify. I called Cleveland clinic again, and I was transferred to outsourced foreigner that refuse to call the insurance company or take the reference number. He could not figure out or verify that my insurance was active. Tried to call the unbudsman to get something done and no one answers during regular business hours. I only have one day off of my job so I can call and make appointments and labs. After running around in circles for an hour and a half I finally get them to verify that my insurance is actually active and good and in network. I get transferred over to central and politely ask to get some appointments se set up. I get disconnected. I called back and then they tell me the referral. My doctor gave me is not accepting new patients even though I’ve seen her before. I asked for the phone number of the doctors office, and they refused to give it to me. I tried to called on buds men again to maybe get a different doctor or the number for that physicians office. No answer. Trying to get anything done or to see a doctor at this place is a total joke.
Would give negative stars if I could
Would give negative stars if I could. My 76-year old mother sees Dr Li for her eyes. We had a cataract/glaucoma surgery scheduled for today. My dad found out a week ago that the pre-authorization had not been received and that the surgery would need to be rescheduled. My dad worked for a whole day to get that taken care of. The insurance company had no record of the doctor even filing it. Supposedly everything was good and we were moving forward.
Skip to the day before the surgery and no call from the office to tell us what time. So we call and are told that she wasn’t put back on the schedule even though assured that she was. Next morning at 830 am we get a phone call that says that they can do the surgery as long as we can be downtown at 1030 am. We bust or butts to drive the hour to get there on time and when we arrive we are told she is not on the schedule but they will check with the doctor.
They have now added her again but here we sit at 1230pm with our diabetic patient who hasn’t eaten since 6pm last night. We haven’t been called back for what is supposed to be a 1pm start and the best they can offer is a reschedule?!?!
For a supposedly world-class organization this has been the worst medical experience we have ever had. If you have other choices, take them!
Cleveland clinic went so BAD
I went with my sister and brother-in-law to Cleveland clinic offices for my brother-in-law, trying to find out what happened what is happening with his eyesight Cleveland clinic is supposed to be number 2 next to Mayo clinic they are far from it the employees are Not Nice the rebuilds they're doing to some of their campuses have made things so drastically terrible I NEVER wanna Go to a Cleveland clinic building again And to top it off they must have lost the test that took a more than an hour to do and suggest that we go back there again how bad can a clinic get Cleveland and Cleveland clinic has reached that point
Ceveland Clinic is the worst !!!
CC in Weston was just a HORRIBLE experience!!!!!
I knew better to go there but my husband insisted we had such great care the last time... WRONG!!! it sure was not Cleveland Clinic we ever went to... It was Memorial West in Pembroke Pines. It was there at Memorial that we received the attention and care we needed.
Cleveland Clinic in Weston Florida was the most unfriendly and unattentive hospital I ever went to.
My husband was in excruciating back pain and we were left in a room forever.
When I asked about when someone was going to see him they told me that my husband was not even assigned a dr yet and the people that were waiting over 2 hours hadn't even been seen yet!!
WHATTT!!! Hello, is this not a ER????? I have a video of the entire emergency room EMPTY!! There was nobody in any of the rooms. All the nurses were out in the hall talking. So why the wait? Did anybody even come in and check on us...NO!!! Not even one. But there was staff all nice and comfy sitting on their butts staring at their feet !!!
I see why everyone says CC sucks and me being a Holistic Practitioner understand why people are seeking other types of care other than hospital care!!!
You should be ashamed at how you run your emergency room! I will tell you, if I ever had any type of medical emergency, I would NEVER go to Cleveland Clinic hospital again!!
And I know you will reply that you don't understand and that you only provide the best of care to your patients and blah blah blah!!!!
Bottom line is you can't reply to this review about anything because you were not there in the ER !!
My suggestion is that you do a complete SWOT analysis and see what the hell you can do to shape up your hospital!
Two weeks of terrible service…
This all started a few weeks ago when my wife had abdominal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Ohio, with Dr Malaya and Dr Costin. Surgery went well and was admitted for recovery time. Second day visited wife and found out she had been sleeping in a chair ALL night because the bed was broken. I asked my wife if she had mentioned to staff. She said she had informed both NIGHTSHIFT snd DAYSHIFT and they said they would look into it and (most importantly) told ger they would be getting NEW beds in a few weeks. (?????) I personally walked about the 5th floor and found 5 empty rooms with beds. (?????) After reporting this problem (on line) to the Ombudsman, the bed was switched out and the Ombudsmen, and the nursing supervisor, both apologized but also told me they were getting new beds in two weeks. Was this problem over? Nay Nay The new bed broke that night and when I returned the next day she was back to sleeping in a chair. Again many persons advised (Night and Day shifts) and when I arrived later in the morning I could see the bed had deflated on one side causing it to lean to the right. Again I was told that new beds were expected in the next few weeks. Dr Malaya advised that he would like my wife to remain in hospital another night to continue recovery. I asked for her to be released, mainly to get some rest and I would have a retired nurse to provide help at home. He agreed. Was later discovered that Dr Malaya’s orders HAD NOT been followed CHANGING HER DRESSING!
A week and a half later her heart doctor called and informed her the her heart was out of rhythm and needed a procedure to fix it. Drove her to Fairview Hospital (50 miles round trip) after her being prepped and waiting a couple hours the cardiologist came in and reported she wasn’t AWARE that she had abdominal surgery two weeks earlier and really didn’t want to proceed with the procedure.
WHAT ?????? Wasn’t AWARE of a surgery within two weeks. Beyond a doubt, worst two weeks of Cleveland Clinics treatment. Be careful, be very careful.
I had a major life transformative…
I had a major life transformative surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. I must say that the medical team of Doctors and Nurses were absolutely professional, compassionate and exuded tremendous emotional intelligence. So far my experience has been splendid. A very special Shout out to Dr. Abdallah, Dr Refai, Dr. Amin, Dr. Magdawal, Dr. Vasquez, Dr. Saith and Nurses Mrs Hall and Liz in Observation.. In Tower 5.. Nurses Beatrice Latouche, Shayna Cohen, Katerina, Magdalena, Maria Mancebo, Teodora, Regina, Novia Technicians Angena, Sam, Miss Clarke. So many more staff members contributed to my treatment and recovery. I am indeed humbled, grateful amd thankful. Thanks and Blessings to everyone
I visited the Cleveland Clinic in July…
I visited the Cleveland Clinic in July for treatment of a kidney stone. Fortunately, there weren't many patients waiting, so I was admitted right away. I was placed on a gurney in the hallway for approximately three hours since no rooms were available. I appreciated the prompt attention I received; As far as the attention and treatment received I would give them 4 stars. As far as the billing goes if I could put these greedy people in prison for defrauding Taxpaying Americans I would.
However, I was shocked when I received an itemized bill sent to Medicare/Aetna. The charges were as follows:
1. IV Therapy: $1,396.00
2. Laboratory: $1,018.00
3. CT Scan: $7,839.00
4. Emergency Room: $2,571.00 (despite never being in a room)
5. Pharmacy: $35.30
6. Self Administered Drugs: $8.45
7. Outpatient New Moderate: $481.00
The total bill amounted to an astonishing $13,528.75 for just three hours of service. The charge for the CT scan alone is outrageous—almost $8,000! This is a clear example of healthcare pricing issues that burden taxpayers and patients alike.
To add to my frustration, I was charged for an emergency room service even though I was never placed in a room; after about three hours, I was asked to wait for my wife in the waiting area because they needed the gurney. When I called to inquire about the cost of a hospital stay, I received no clear answer.
Now, I'm actively seeking alternatives for emergency care, ideally far away from the Cleveland Clinic. I can't see myself ever returning, even with most of the bill covered by Medicare/Aetna. To top it all off, they sent me a bill for an additional $214.96, as if the $13,528.75 wasn't enough. This situation is unacceptable.
Changing an appointment is sometimes…
Changing an appointment is sometimes impossible. I was on the phone for two hours just to change an appointment.
I have used Cleveland clinic for years. It never was perfect, of course. It just seems to be getting worse and worse and worse. The doctors are super, Brilliant kind, and concerned. But scheduling and changing an appointment is bizarre.
A lady who was legit really trying to help me had to transfer me to a different phone number and she transferred me to non working phone number of the Cleveland clinic.
I even tried to use my chart and spend 20 minutes after the first attempt, it would not submit it so I used a different web browser and filled out all the information a second time to change the appointment, and again it would not submit. My chart is a failure.
I decided to transfer my business to University Hospital instead.
RACIST
I have had 2 bad experiences...both were about appointments for post issues. Both times I was given rude and unacceptable service...both by black women. Rude. Unrealistic. Zero empath. Both times I called back and spoke to white men. Each time the issues were resolved IMMEDIATELY. RACIST? IGNORANT? POOR WORK ETHIC? YOU TELL ME.
Dr had put in system for consult with…
Dr had put in system for consult with another doctor for surgery. Their system scheduled me to see a RN that could not do the consult, said so, and then billed me for it. will not fix this invoicing issue
I had a virtual appointment today with Dr Michelle Dompenciel
I had a virtual appointment today with a neurologist and I did all the check in procedures, I was ready to open zoom right on time, and nothing happened! I called the office and the lady that answered said that in their system I didn’t fill out the questionnaire for the check in, I asked if the doctor can talk to me, she said no because I am a new patient. I waisted my time and the doctor didn’t even bother to call and this person that answered the phone only said sorry we can’t take care of you today! Absolutely disappointing!
