All about the money

This is what happens when small practices get consolidated. I had a biopsy at Schweiger and wanted to get the slides to share with another practice for a second opinion. Schweiger would not release the slides. They gave me a bureaucratic runaround.

Lack of care

My son saw the PA (Megan Offray) in the Madison office twice and he was rushed out the door both visits. The Physician Assistant did not take the time to address his questions and concerns. Also, she prescribed a medication that is not covered under his insurance, and inquired on which pharmacy he prefers although this was listed in his patient information and given during his appointment bookings. She never reviewed his medical history with him or the pertinent information in his medical records. Lesson learned for my son to advocate for himself when he is being treated with a complete lack of medical care.

No call back - Poor Communication

I am a tour guide and received a call from my company that they were desperate for my help to do a tour for a large group next week in Miami. I called Schweiger Dermatology asking if they felt I could do the tour the same day that I was to have stitches removed that morning. I explained to the representative on the phone I was taking blood thinners. I told the representative that I needed an answer sometime that day. I didn't need to apeak with the doctor... even a medical technician, a PA or simply the front desk would be fine. They did everything they could not to allow me to speak with someone at the Del Ray Beach office. They said I would get a call back. That did not happen. My company could not take a chance on not having a guide so they ended up having to train and hire someone else. I simply would not know the answer to my question. This request to get a call back (although not as immediate) has happened before. The call was not returned. I feel Schweiger Dermatology has gotten too big, too impersonal and too corporate to care about the individual's needs.

Billing dept needs help

Dr. Gotlieb is great, but their billing dept needs an overhaul. They don't send bills then after 6 months you get a notice from a collection agency. Pathetic

BEWARE Dr Goldberg is negligent and…

BEWARE Dr Goldberg is negligent and provides irresponsible care. I saw Dr Goldberg for SRT treatment for basil cell. plan was to get radiation 2x weekly for 7 weeks. After one treatment i was advised my subsequent appointment was cancelled because the machine broke. No eta or urgency on fixing it. Then days later got a call that I could go to their other office for treatment. After my second treatment they cancelled my next appt. I have consulted 2 other Drs and both said that Dr Goldberg was negligent and i should not have had 2 treatments a week apart. it did nothing other than unneccesarily radiate the skin. and he does't do image guided which is needed to verify the tumor is gone. I was not told this. I requested four times that Dr Goldberg call me to discuss but he refused. and i just received a large bill which i will not be paying!

You couldnt pay me to go back to this office

My elderly husband went for a skin check 2 weeks ago and they found a "spot". Called and said he had to come back in to have more removed. Did not tell him why. I called 4 times and he called as well to get someone to call us back to clarify what it was they found. NO one ever called back. Will never go back to this place again. Patient care is less than 0. I've been a nurse for 45 years, so I know the medical community. This is the poorest run office I have ever seen. The Drs may be fine but this situation is unacceptable. Filing a complaint with the BBB.

Another update on my other reviews - HORRIBLE OFFICE STAFF

Another update on my other reviews. DO NOT go to this practice. They are dishonest and refuse to work with you. The doctor is wonderful but the office staff is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! I was charged for service when I was told they took my insurance. So because their staff is untrained properly, I have been fighting for a refund since December. They said the refund would be issued but I have not received it nor will they respond to any of my emails.

Extremely dishonest practice

Update as of 6/24:
Hospital "solutions team" reached out to me and my attempts at a response and resolution were once again left blank. I've since been sent to collections.

Original review: Extremely dishonest practice. On their website, they encourage you to text them to “find out if we accept your insurance.” I did, and then immediately received a call back from a representative that let me know that their Hoboken office was Tier 1 with my insurance. I felt pressured to make an appointment on the spot, but I said I wanted to be certain that they were Tier 1, because Tier 2 charges would go toward my deductible. He assured me that their Hoboken office was indeed Tier 1. I should have ultimately confirmed this with my insurance but did not because I trusted the practice would be providing accurate information. I went to my appointment and shortly after received a bill from their office for an additional $94.62 on top of the copay I already paid. When I tried to appeal this with my insurance, I was informed that the Hoboken office was not Tier 1. I then called the billing department at Schweiger to inform them that I given inaccurate information by their office, and they essentially told me there was nothing they could do; I owed them the difference. I asked them to pull the phone call with the representative so they could see that I would not have made an appointment with this office had I known they were not Tier 1. Again, they refused and told me the bill was my responsibility. Shame on Schweiger for encouraging new clients to text them and then intentionally providing false information.

Awful Experience with Schweiger Dermatology Group from Start to Finish

A PA was responsible for my care on this visit. I was put off when the PA tried to charge me for a service that my insurance company directed me do at the provider of my choice. After arguing for a bit, they made me sign a form saying I would cover the charge if my insurance company didn't. I asked the PA to look at spots on my back and she refused, saying i had to come back for another appointment! OK, so now I give the PA the letter from my insurance company indicating what type of prior authorization is required for my prescription. I leave the insurance letter with the PA and when i go to pick up my prescription, it's not ready, even though the PA said it was! So I called the office back and was told it would be taken care of right away. I went to the pharmacy the next day and surprise, the prescription is still not authorized! I've had a better experience at the DMV than this office. Just a horribly run practice.
