Misleading ISP Proxy Service – Comcast IP Classified as Data Center/Hosting, Not ISP!
I purchased CleanProxies' paid trial package (5 proxies for approximately $5) and specifically selected **Comcast** as the ISP provider because I needed genuine Fixed Line ISP IP addresses.
Unfortunately, the result was extremely disappointing.
I tested one of the IP addresses provided by CleanProxies:
IP Address: 48.44.84.186
According to the IP2Location DB26 database, the actual results were:
- **ISP:** AviationAI
- **Domain:** aviation-chat.framer.ai
- **Usage Type:** DCH – Data Center / Web Hosting / Transit
- **Category:** Web Hosting
- **Net Speed:** T1 – Data Center / Transit
- **ASN:** AS7922 – Comcast Cable Communications LLC
- **AS Usage Type:** ISP – Fixed Line ISP
Please pay close attention to this distinction: although the ASN belongs to Comcast and the ASN-level usage type is ISP, the actual IP address is classified as **DCH (Data Center/Web Hosting/Transit)**, NOT ISP.
This is precisely the distinction that matters to customers who require IP addresses classified as ISP at the individual IP level.
I specifically selected Comcast because I needed Fixed Line ISP IPs, not data center or hosting IPs associated with a Comcast ASN.
The fact that the IP is registered under a Comcast ASN does not make it a genuine ISP-classified IP address. The actual IP-level Usage Type is what matters, and in this case, it failed my requirement.
This is particularly frustrating because CleanProxies advertises its product as Static ISP Proxies, creating the expectation that customers will receive IPs that actually meet the ISP classification requirement.
I paid for a trial specifically to verify this, and the very first IP I checked failed the most important requirement.
My concerns are:
1. Why was an IP classified as DCH/Web Hosting provided under a Comcast ISP proxy package?
2. Why is the actual ISP listed as AviationAI rather than Comcast?
3. Does CleanProxies verify the individual IP addresses against IP classification databases before selling them as ISP proxies?
4. How many other customers are paying for ISP proxies but receiving data center-classified addresses instead?
I cannot recommend this service for anyone who strictly requires IP addresses with an individual IP-level Usage Type of ISP (Fixed Line ISP).
I am sharing these exact technical results so potential customers can understand the difference between an ISP ASN and an IP address that is actually classified as ISP.
I would like CleanProxies to provide a clear explanation and an appropriate resolution, rather than simply claiming that the IP belongs to Comcast.
My issue is not whether the ASN belongs to Comcast. My issue is that the actual IP Usage Type is DCH, which is not what I paid for.
Buyers should verify the actual IP classification before purchasing larger packages.
