I had choueer box about month, began the issues: squeaky sound when scooping, then the errors, the lid not working, and broken parts on the unit (poor plastic designed). Following instruction to disabled the bin, clear the error, but scooping worked for a few days and scooping stop working. Now the unit is useless. I contacted customer support for assistance to replace or refund in last 3 months nothing happen. They have kept to response email to said waiting for second version design to send the replace, I spent $550 for unit only work 1 month, that really frustration to deal with inconvenient, and the worse thing I believed the company will take care as their advertising and promise on their warranty, but nothing happen. Sound like this website need to be shut down to avoid scam people.

Worthless box!

I had my 1st one and it started squeaking because of litter brand used. Then the lid started to get stuck and made horrible sound. Died on me once, had to disassemble and clean parts from inside and worked. Anti adhesive pad detached completely from ring and spent hours trying to glue it back.
Fast forward, they sent replacement. Worked fine for few weeks then the globe started to stop mid cycle or close all together. Lid would make weird sounds, lid disabled, all is better, then one day it stopped working. Tried to reboot it, would get stuck at "starting . . ."
Disassembled it and found nothing wrong, replced it with my old unit that I kept.

Did I ever mention they have Kitty, the worst customer service ever? Extremely useless and very frustrating and eventually will ghost people and stop replying. Or would tell us to go and fix our units by ourselves. She stated at some point, there are no chouboxes left, as those were destroyed and yet, still being sold on their website lol..
They're currently out of pedal, anti adhesive pads, trash bags.

Product manager, Amethyst, stopped responding to anyone. Kitkai or Kai, the previous customer service, is not responsible for us anymore .

They are still selling malfunctioning units on their official website. They offer no return no refund. Their customer service isn't even authorized to generate RMAs.
And if they agreed to refund, the unit must be returned. The cost of shipping is on the customer, which can be $200 because they request the unit to be sent back to China. We have received those from warehouses within countries we live in and there where those units should go back.

We are trying to warn as much consumers as possible, before they pay for something that is broken out of the box.

They don't honor the warranty offered, they don't have 24/7 reliable customer service, they don't take back units that had litter inside, even broken ...

Choueer / Choubox team kicked me out of their official group, not because I said something in there, but because I'm speaking out truth after truth in our unofficial groups..

The company refunded me my money back in November 2022, as a thank you for having their backs when they were accused of being scams (in which they're not) they delivered the goods. But I do not oversee their quality control as we've been convinced it's the best thing ever!

But now I feel that refund was to shut me up from telling what I've experienced and not to feel bad about getting 2 flawed units.

Shame on all of them! Does not even deserve 1 star!

Machine if flawed. Does not scoop, error messages and unable to clean properly. I am grateful I got a deal on it through facebook for $425. Their website says 24/7 support which is does not support. No phone number to call and when you email you reach someone in Hong Kong. Also, trying to get a RMA# is a real pain. Save your self the headache.

Anyone who has bought this unit and having issues contact there state attorneys generals office and file a complaint and also the BBB.

Warning to anyone,

Do not buy this product! My ChouBox is now useless because this company can’t send me the adhesive pad replacement and the plastic bag. Their website should be shutdown for scamming more people.

The machine is two months old. The message on machine is Error.
They send me info on how to disable the Bin..Does not work and wont Disable..All you get is emails from this Company if there is a problem with machine..They dont want to replace any parts like my Bin...This Company should be sued.

Only giving 1 star because I have to choose something. Received the box on 3/8/23 after ordering from their website. Plugged it in, went from Starting to Error Contact Us. Finally, after troubleshooting and leaving it plugged in for 2 days and then restarting it, was able to get it reset from Starting to disabling the bin. Then it wouldn't scoop, kept getting stuck on scoop, but either wouldn't move or would try to move and make horrible high pitched squeaking sounds. When unplugging and starting over, same things, error messages. Was never able to use it. Requested an RMA to return it for a full refund, per their policy, sent the pictures, the box was never used as it never worked, and they are refusing to refund my money because they can't "resell a secondhand box", even though it hasn't been used, no litter was added, nothing, just error messages. They told me that improvements are being made for their next model. That does me no good now with a defective model I am out $400 for. Piece of junk, horrible customer service and they don't stand behind their product or policy. I have read reviews of other sites that they refuse to refund anyone for the defective products.

Every time it scooped it made this loud noise after a several weeks of using it. Then I got an error message. $600 piece of garbage. These litter boxes have no serial number so there is no way to return this product.

Not worth even 1 star. So many people complaining about faulty boxes,,,, Mine broke down in 2 weeks, pee leaking, lid not working, squeaking loudly, now stopped working at all. Wort customer service ever, they wont accept it back nor fixing it, advised dispose of it, but no refund.... AVOID at all cost

Don't purchase this. I cannot think of a time in past few decades that I've been so disappointed and frustrated with a purchase. I would like to mention that I purchased a Litter Robot 3 three years ago and it has only given me a couple minor issues that were easily fixed (just an unbalanced bowl). Choubox has been more work, and more headache, than just using a normal box that I have to scoop and I paid $461 for that?!

I thought by checking reviews on YouTube that I would get unbiased and informed details comparing ChouBox to other Self Scooping Litterboxes. Apparently that is wrong, as claims made by Influencers are not accurate from mine and MANY other customers who have purchased the early units.

Yesterday I have requested a refund... mind you Choueer has tried to tell other customers that refunds can only happen for returns on unused units. Fingers crossed I get a decent response.

The amount of issues in such a short amount of time with this box is highly unacceptable. Ordered in May 2022... arrived in December 2022... Assembled Dec 12, 2022... Realized the opening allows cats to paw litter right out the front all over the floor and also down between casing and litter ball 🤦‍♀️

A week later it was squeaking loudly during scooping. I posted in the FB support group (Choueer directs customers to in the manual) on Dec 20, 2022 as of Feb 17 2023 it is still "pending approval". Posts not raving about the box are not allowed on the page and no support reaches out.

January was spent with increasing time spent on troubleshooting to get the unit to work. It wouldn't scoop, get stuck mid scoop (so it was closed to cats entering to use it), have Error Messages, say it was scooping but nothing was happening, and the app weighed my cats at 0.00 pounds most of the time 😹

February found me wasting hours in a day troubleshooting to get the thing to just scoop one time... and eventually it just quit responding...
February 9th I put it out on my screened porch, awaiting disposal.

Also, the inner space is fine for my 7 pound cat, but is a tight fit for 15 pounders.

The ball leaks urine down into waste bin.

Customer Support tells customers to remove the door from waste bin whem it gets stuck... so then they are left with the smell.

Customer Support told one customer to sew the stitching in the ball back up herself. (I saw the email) 😳Seriously?

Don't get the ChouBox...
Go with Litter Robot, their warranty is solid, customer service is fast and fair, and the product is AMAZING.

It worked for maybe a few weeks. Now it doesn't work at all. Customer Service is horrible. No one has gotten back to me. I keep writing to them. They don't care.

Update: Kitty has gotten back to me. I'm on the list for the new generation. I figured out how to disable the bin and at least it is scooping. Adding one star.

Please do not buy this product, check out the support groups on Facebook. So many customers with faulty products and no service or resolution. Yet they still sell new faulty products.

Writing this to express to anyone reading this. This cat litter box is complete garbage. Doesn't work as intended. There is no customer service despite claims of 24/7 support. They will not respond via email or there chat service. They state a address in Cali and in Delaware but when contacting the BBB they say both are false addresses . Yes I filed a claim through the better business bureau. I'm at the point of having my credit card dispute the transaction because the 30 day return is false. Please take my advice do not purchase this brand or from this company. Google top litter boxes and you will never see them on any list for these reasons

This litter box has never worked properly. It would squeal very loudly when going through a cycle. Then it would get stuck 1/2 way through a cycle. Email will get you an answer in a week or so, try that and get another error message, write another email, maybe get another answer in about a week or longer. Why can't they just have a help line to call and discuss problems and solutions? The litter box does you no good if it doesn't work

The litterbox has never worked. I asked for help, received a message that didn't tell me how to fix the error messages. I subsequently messaged over 4 times. No response. After a month and a half they responded, to give me more information that didn't work and to tell me that I couldn't return my items because I have had them for over 60 days. I asked to return within the 30 day window. They don't honor their return policy, warranty, or 90 day guarantee. They also definitely do not have 24/7 customer support. I can't believe I waited a month and a half for a response.

This company is a scam.

I wonder if they tested the litgerbox properly. Many error messages and much too small. Our cat is only 4 kg.
Sorry about the money. Mine is in the garage after using it for 10 days. Doesn't do what it should. And find it unhygienic.

Ik vraag me af, of ze de litgerbox wel goed hebben getest. Veel foutmeldingen en veel te klein.onze kat is maar 4kg. Spijtig van het geld. De mijne staat in de garage na een 10 dagen te gebruiken. Doet niet wat het moet. En vind het onhygiënisch.

The choubox broke after 5 months and we had to pay for the deliver of a replacement. I didnt, so i just lost my money and have no litter box anymore. Buy famous popular brands, not these kind. A similar brand killed a cat.
Also, after all this i got a box open on top and it doesnt smell and was cheap. I should just have done that!

I was interested in buying the ChouBox through the companies Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, which cannot be bought through their website. Based on my experience and concerns, I am not convinced this is a real company and I would like to warn others of this.
The company claims to be based in Fremont CA 94536 (according to their emails) however on their Indigogo page it says they are based in Newark NJ, this is a red flag.
I decided to join the products Facebook page and all of their admins were posting from Hong Kong (odd for a company that claims to be based in the US). I noticed all negative comments and concerns were being deleted from the page.
I attempted to purchase the product via their Indiegogo campaign and was surprised to see that a higher price was being charged than was advertised, this is false advertising and illegal in many countries, including the US, which is where they claim to be based.
Based on my experience and being unable to find anything beyond red flags about this 'company' I absolutely would no recommend them.
