Lovely product, customer service non-existent
Lovely product, poor customer care.
Ordered a Christmas gift hamper as a present for my Dad but it didn’t arrive. I contacted customer services who advised that this was because an error had been made on the address and shared a screenshot of a mashup of my home address and my Dad’s. There is no way I would have made a typo like that so it can only be that something pulled over incorrectly in the system between my address (billing) and the recipient’s address. I replied to the customer service email and explained this, asking for a refund as goods still not received. I have not received a reply.
Incredibly poor customer service, lack of interest in resolving issues. I won’t be buying from here again. Sad because the products are lovely when I’ve tasted them in the past.
Advent Tube
I bought the advent chocolate tube. I don't know why I anticipated lovely, creamy chocolate discs that filled the circumference of the tube. Instead I got 24 tiny, Christmas shapes of very poor quality chocolate - what a con! supermarket chocolate is just as good - if not better.
A thank you Gift
I wanted something tasty and different as a thank you gift.Living in Northern Ireland I am always concerned about postage issues butIi am glad to say my order arrived in good time.
My only gripe would be tha I expected the Christmas wreath to be slightly bigger!
As this was a gift I couldn’t taste it but it looked nice despite its size.I have given the company the benefit of the doubt and have given them 5 stars
Fine if you want chocolates that have been left outside for 3 nights.
Absolutely awful experience and terrible customer service! I ordered the fresh (limited shelf-life) chocolates and some brownies on Sunday. The estimated delivery day was Thursday. I allowed for an extra day just because of the time of year. They weren't delivered on Thursday but the 24 hour tracking indicated that they would be delivered by 11.20 am on Friday. They weren't delivered until 4.19 pm. The recipient was a business. It could not have been clearer from the address on the package and the premises that it is a business. By the time the package was 'delivered' the business had closed for the weekend, so what happened to the package? From the delivery photo, it was left in a drain, outside the building. It beggars belief that this was considered an appropriate place to leave a package. I am absolutely mortified and VERY upset, as this was a "thank you" to a business which has helped my family this year. Whilst Royal Mail is primarily at fault, Chococo chose to use them. Also, Chococo stated in their original order email that their telephone line is open to 5pm on a Friday. If that is the case, then why did I get an automated message telling me to email (because you were closed) when I telephoned at 4.50 pm? I think that tells me everything I need to know about how Chococo value their customers. I don't want people at this business to eat stale chocolates and brownies that have been left outside for 3 nights. The package will probably be soaked by Monday and god only knows what vermin have crawled over that package in the meantime. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. £40 wasted (although I shall be demanding a refund) and now too late to send this business sometimes else before they close for Christmas.
Didn't deliver for an anniversary, blamed me for courier issues
I had a really disappointing experience with Chococo’s customer service and won’t be ordering again. My order was delayed and then marked as “refused” by the courier, even though I provided the correct address and someone was home to receive it.
When I contacted Chococo, their responses were scripted and unhelpful. At no point did anyone acknowledge that the issue might lie with their delivery partner — instead, I was told that the parcel had lbeen refused and that I “may have entered the wrong address,” which simply wasn’t true.
Despite both Royal Mail and Chococo’s own delivery partner confirming the parcel had been returned, they refused to resend it, only offering a refund after extended back and forth and suggesting I place a new order “using the correct address.” This approach came across as dismissive and blaming, with no apology or sense of accountability from Chococo.
It’s a real shame, as I was looking forward to trying their chocolates and had ordered them as an anniversary gift- it is now 8 days after when it was meant to be delivered, even though I promptly followed up. Unfortunately, the poor communication and lack of accountability completely ruined the experience, and I can't recommend their services at all.
Yummy family tradition
We always visit Chococo every time we go to Exeter. Its our little family treat at the end of a day's shopping. A lovely oasis of calm and chocolate! The hot chocolates are lovely, 80% for the grown ups and marshmallows for the kids.
I love Chococo
I love chococo. The chocolates are superb, and the love and care for the craft of the owners really shine through the entire place. More please!
Never buying from again
Ordered a large box of assorted chocolates for a 60th birthday. I asked for delivery on the 12th August, I ordered well in advance too.
Due to the very hot weather the company decided to withhold sending and so my chocolates arrived on the 14th August. I wrote to complain and was told an email had been sent to me explaining the situation. I didn't receive that communication. So as this was for a 60th Birthday, I had now missed the day. The customer service lady did reply extremely promptly but it didn't take away that the chocolates were now late.
Then when opened the outer cardboard packaging the first thing I saw was a card with the message I had requested. This was on a sticker and had been stuck down at an angel. So it was so slapdash. You may think me petty, but this is a present, and a rather expensive one at that! I wrote again and the same lady apologised and offered me 20% off code on any further purchase I make.
Guess what?? I won't be ordering ever again. Not even if it was 50% off. I just think the staff on the production line couldn't give 2 hoots on giving proper service and then it comes back on the company and they will loose out.
Unfortunately, this is the world we live in now.
Underwhelmed
I have been searching for some excellent fine chocolates since our local chocolateer has had to pause his production. I searched the web and stumbled across chococo. They have received numerous awards so I purchased a 25 summer collection box.
We are now about 50% of the way through the box and I am massively underwhelmed by the chocolates. The shells are quite poorly tempered and chocolate does not taste special. The fillings although interesting in name and idea do not pack anywhere near the punch of flavour that you would expect from an expensive fine chocolate company with so many awards.
All in all dissappointed and would not recommend. Will have to keep looking elsewhere.
Sadly a disappointing experience
I ordered two Easter eggs from Chococo after seeing them featured over the last few years and having promoted them through my platform to thousands of people, I decided it was finally time to treat myself and try them firsthand.
While I was looking forward to the experience, I was unfortunately left a little disappointed. One of the eggs arrived completely smashed, which seemed to be due to the chocolate being extremely thin and fragile. While the flavour of the chocolate was enjoyable, it didn’t quite reflect the quality or visual appeal shown in the website imagery.
There were also some issues with the honeycomb inside. Part of it had softened and stuck to the packaging, which made me wonder if the egg had broken before it was even shipped. The second egg arrived intact and tasted lovely, but again, there were inconsistencies with the thickness of the chocolate.
I do appreciate the company’s effort to avoid plastic packaging in favour of sustainability. However, when the packaging compromises the product’s condition, it may be worth exploring alternative eco-friendly materials that provide better protection.
I contacted the company the same day and they responded promptly after the bank holiday weekend. A refund was issued for the damaged item, which I appreciated. Still, while the customer service was efficient, it didn’t resolve the underlying quality and packaging concerns.
Given the premium price point of these Easter eggs, especially from a brand that’s won awards and received national media coverage, I had higher expectations for both the product and its durability during delivery.
I genuinely hope future batches see improvements in consistency and packaging, as the brand clearly has potential.
Best chocolates we’ve ever had
Best chocolates we’ve ever had. Every time we get chocolates from anywhere else, they are always poor by comparison.
We have ordered Easter eggs from…
We have ordered Easter eggs from Chococo for many years now. Unfortunately for the third year in a row the goods arrived either smashed or with disintegrated honeycomb in the honeycomb Easter egg. We usually really enjoy the blonde caramel chocolate but this year there was definitely something not as tasty about it which added further disappointment. We will not be ordering from this company again.
I think if you throw out chocolate…
I think if you throw out chocolate rather than eating it, then that is a bad sign. £30 for one of their eggs which looked stunning, but was paper thin and honestly tasted like cheap soapy chocolate.
Really beautiful Easter egg
Really beautiful Easter egg, it appeared to be hand crafted and a lot of love had gone into making it. My boyfriend loved the dinosaur theme. The egg did take about a week to come but luckily got here in time for Easter.
Poor customer service and very slow delivery
Have been buying from Chococo for several years now as I think their product is wonderful . Ordered this year again despite poor service in previous years . I paid for next day delivery on Monday as I was going away on Thursday morning and needed them by Wednesday but it took four days despite other confectionary suppliers being able to deliver orders in less than 24 hours . Called repeatedly with no success . Left several messages . Customer service was very unhelpful . I won’t buy from them again .
Delivery issues on Easter eggs.
Ordered their top end fancy Easter egg. First delivery arrived smashed to pieces. Second arrived in a similar state and with a small hole in the egg box.
The packaging was fairly substantial on the first egg and I can't understand how it was so broken up.
Customer service was fine, but not amazing given the price of product Vs a high street brand like Hotel Chocolat.
I will not be ordering again.
Been buying on and off from this…
Been buying on and off from this company since 2002.
Bought for several occasions and each time did not fail to amaze and delight.
Prompt speedy delivery in non plastic packaging, ethical beautiful chocolates, fabulous taste and appearance and tastes like it should do. Proper chocolate at its best. Have tried everything from its hot chocolate flakes to brownies, bars and seasonal chocolate selections.
Now gifting littke chocolate gifts to my grandchildren who equally love them, too.
Three generations are addicts! The awards speak for themselves.
Possibly the most overpriced
Possibly the most overpriced, smallest vegan easter eggs I could ever have imagined..
Yummy!
Quick delivery, made the perfect present for my dinosaur loving wife! Really tasty, high quality chocolate 🔥❤️🔥
Bovaer Free
I received a box as a gift. Good thing is that they are Bovaer free. Not so good is the range of taste from bland to some outright delicious. Odd sort of mix. I would not buy for myself because the tastes are rollercoaster..some up and some down.
As an update
I am now on my third and final gift box of chocolates. I would love be able to tell the generous gifter that they were sublime. Instead they have become a source of entertainment. They are now called chocodiles. They bite back. There are shouts of "why?"as they are being eaten. Awards or not these boxes have been an adventure into the unknown and very unexpected odd tastes. They say revenge is sweet. If you have someone in mind then go on..buy them a box.
