Second time using this company and where quick to organize the full building survey for my purchase , carried out on time and efficiently .

Very responsive to my initial enquiry for a building survey and answered all my questions prior to booking. Survey completed without delay and report received ahead of due date. Post-survey questions were also responded to very quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chawton Hill

Chawton Hill were excellent from start to finish - very good price and a first-class service. Thanks in particular to Mark, the surveyor, for a detailed inspection and a clear explanation.

We commissioned Chawton Hill for a full building survey. The quote was competitive and the booking process was smooth and hassle free. Since we lived abroad at the time of the survey we requested a call via whatsapp which was no problem. The surveyor provided a good level of detail, answered our many questions and gave sound advice. The report received was detailed and covered all areas with photos for reference. We would highly recommend Chawton Hill services.

Excellent service. The surveyor contacted me before and immediately after the survey to discuss any concerns and summarise his findings. The report was very detailed, produced within three days and included recommendations.

We commissioned Chawton Hill for a full building survey. The visit was carried out at the agreed time lasting over 5.5 hours onsite. The report was easy to understand and very detailed with accompanying pictures. Well worth the investment and highly recommended.

Very detailed and easy to understand report. A little more communication would have been appreciated as we felt we had to chase more than we would have expected in order to gain that initial insight over the phone

I was very impressed with the detail provided and extent of the information. I was most appreciative of the personal call from the surveyor on the day who spoke about the findings and answered questions there and then, as well as follow up emails. They were apparently on time very considerate to the seller, and professional throughout. Highly recommended.

Good service and adjusted well to covid restrictions which were on at the time. Plenty of phone time with the surveyor to explain the survey and was available when we need answers for follow up questions later.

A thorough survey, addressing all the issues I expected to be covered. Also answered my follow up questions and provided recommendations for tradesman.

Communication was excellent - i received email replies almost instantly with my (endless!) questions. received the report in full, on time and the Surveyor provided good feedback over the phone. I have already recommended to someone else.

Impressed with the professionalism with which Chawton Hill acted for our structural survey. Right from quoting the work for us, understanding our requirements and expectations to the final delivery of the survey report, everything was timely and seamless. We were not able to use the post-survey walk around due to current social distancing restrictions, but Chawton Hill provided an alternative with a call both before and after with the surveyor which was extremely helpful. We discussed areas we had concerns on with Stephen Holmes and he was very helpful by providing his views on those issues in plain English so we knew whether any immediate remedial works were needed or not. Hopefully we will be able to get our transaction over the line sooner rather than later, but we would gladly use Chawton Hill again in the future and recommend them for their surveying services.

Very detailed survey that was easy to understand.

Pretty happy with Chawton Hill, price was reasonable, a bit more expensive than some other options but I was happy to pay a bit extra for the walk around and I don't regret the decision as the benefit to ask the surveyor in person and get an instant answer was very valuable.

The only thing two things I would say is 1) the surveyor would always qualify everything with saying you need a specialist to look at it, which I understand but from my point of view that's what I'm asking him for - do i need to be genuinely concerned about a particular issue and get a specialist in or to the best of his knowledge does it look OK. 2) As I went for the Building Survey, I was probably expecting a bit more in depth analysis, which I don't feel was necessarily there. Certainly things like looking at the roof etc. I assumed would happen but didn't. I should qualify this with saying it was my first house purchase so maybe my expectations are wrong.

I would certainly consider using them again.

I have used Chawton Hill for two surveys in the past six weeks and would highly recommend. The walk round at the point of survey is really helpful, and part of the reason we chose the company along with favourable reviews online.

Our first survey was conducted by Karl Grover - he was very thorough and in fact the contents of the survey resulted in us withdrawing our offer. Dodgy roof, subsidence, dodgy drainage, fire hazards and general neglect of the fabric of the building were all picked up as part of the full building survey. The report was thorough with a clear red/amber/green section about repairs, cost estimates and areas for further investigation. It was provided to us promptly, which was particularly impressive as it was the week before Christmas.

When we found another (hopefully more structurally sound) property, we received a 10% discount on the cost of the survey as it was our second. A nice touch - given the bullet we dodged thanks to the first one, I’d have been happy to pay full price for it.

Our surveyor the second time round was Mark Knight - equally thorough and has advised we should have our report within a few days. Both times booking was easy, both times the surveys were carried out quickly and thoroughly with full reports provided promptly.

I’d highly recommend this Company - not the cheapest you will find, but worth every penny.
