Chawton Hill Chartered Surveyors demonstrated professionalism in their work, and their survey report was detailed and thorough. The surveyor also showed excellent client service, taking the time to clearly explain their findings.

Fantastic company. The cost for the full package was cheaper and more of an extensive survey than annything we’ve come across before. The Information included far surpassed any of our friends or family who have recently moved. (2 friends and our parents move, all paid more and go 3 page reports! The survey was phenomenal with info, pictures and solutions etc and the customer service was fantastic. Well worth the cost. Thank you so much.

TBH it was the initial interaction I received from my initial scope email, I was given a detailed explanation of each service, as I was buying a 1900 built property I required a detailed level 3 report, I was given the opportunity to raise any additional concerns and questions, at the same time correspondence up to the day of the inspection, also invited to meet the inspector on the day, I also used this company who are not Berkshire based, everything was done in a timely manner and the report I received was presented in the easiest way to understand. A great help for everything you must consider in an older property. So you can trust, get what you require and best of all, have direct experience and communication on request.

We used Mark for two house surveys and were really impressed. He was thorough and happy to answer any questions that we had. The communication was excellent and the admin team were extremely helpful and accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

Stated they checked the roof and that it was "sound".

Clearly didn't, as the roof crumbled to dust on touching it.

Given that I paid for their most expensive survey, I would expect to at least look at the roof.

Had a go through of the property with the surveyor which was very helpful in understanding the property. Surveyor thoroughly explained each part of the house nicely.

We were looking to purchase an old house, so wanted a full (Level 3) survey done. I googled a few options and chose Chawton Hill as a) they were local-ish, b) they offered a 'meeting' with the surveyor on site.

We are so happy we chose Chawton Hill - Mark, our surveyor was brilliant. He was generous with his time and it was so reassuring to be able to look at the property together and benefit from his expertise. The meeting meant we were confident to proceed with the purchase, ahead of receiving the detailed and helpful report.

We are now in our new home. Mark gave us the peace of mind and confidence to go ahead. Thanks all to the team in the back office who responded to the quote, booked the appointment and then invoiced (after the survey was done, which was another benefit - nothing upfront).

Highly recommend and would definitely use again (not that we plan to move anytime soon!)

Very poor. The report had clearly not been read by author nor by the reviewer. It contained obvious cut and paste items which were not relevant to the sections they appeared in. I made a detailed complaint and the report was rewritten but there was no explanation of why it was done so badly and there was nothing from the reviewer who had signed it off. It also made me wonder how reliable the survey was. I would not recommend them.

Was recommended by a family member and would highly recommend again. All staff over the phone were helpful and friendly and confirmed a booking really quickly. Our surveyor, Paul Summers, met me at the property and took time to go through the survey whilst at the house. He made me feel relaxed and at ease and carefully talked me through the whole survey whilst there. Overall it was super helpful to be able to speak face to face. He let me know we could email him if we had any more questions and he was more than happy to take further calls once the survey came back if needed, as my partner couldn't be there at the time of the walk around. The full survey came back within 4 working days and was easy to understand with suggested quotes for all the repairs. Would highly recommend using Chawton!

At an extremly difficult period of time due to the pandemic, I consider the professionalism of your company completely beyond reproach.All the staff that I talked to on the telephone were always helpful and polite.The surveyor, Mark Knight was very professional and patient with answering questions and nothing was too much trouble for him.

I had a recent buildings survey done.

The quotation was competitive and easy to understand. After acceptance, the process was very clearly explained and timescales given. The report was delivered on the date promised and was very comprehensive. Excellent layout and again easy to understand. I appreciated a short overview of the reports conclusion given early on in the report. Lots of very helpful photographs added to the overall usefulness of the report.

Very responsive and easy to work with. Professional throughout and had a very thorough and detailed report provided in a prompt manner. Such good value for money Would definitely use again and recommend to friends.

Great service - quote for building service easily obtained and a date booked in. Surveyor responded promptly to some enquiries and then took time to go through the survey over the phone. Full survey received within 5 days, easy to understand with excellent quality photos.

The surveyor gave me a call to let me know the results and then provided a detailed report, with appropriately aimed language, in a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend for clear, timely communication and for detailed surveys at a very reasonable price.

Excellent service. Easy to understand report. Photos helped immensely. Though we were unable to be at the property with the surveyor due to Covid 19 his phone call to go over the report explained the detail and highlighted what we needed to know. I would not hesitate to use Chawton Hill again and recommend them.
